HELPFUL TIPS

NEVER leave the unit unattended while operating.

Fresh Eggs: Fresh eggs provide the best results when using your egg cooker. To determine the freshness of your eggs, fill a large glass with water to the top. One by one, place each egg in the full glass of water.

  • Eggs that sink and settle at the bottom of the glass in a horizontal position are the freshest eggs.
  • Those eggs that float to the top of the glass are the bad eggs.
  • Eggs that sink to the bottom of the glass but lie in a more vertical position are still good to eat but are less fresh and need to be eaten as soon as possible.

Cooking Time
Times noted in this manual are for large eggs. Smaller or larger eggs may require less or more cooking time to reach desired result.

Indicator Light
If your indicator light does not illuminate when switched to the ON ( – ) position, check to be sure the unit is plugged into a working electrical outlet.

Using Egg White Separator
To separate the egg whites from the yolk, set the separator over a bowl (the included egg bowl works well for this). Crack an egg into the separator and allow the egg whites to pass through into the bowl. The yolk will remain in the separator.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

Take care of your EGG COOKER by following these simple instructions and precautions.
General cleaning:

  1. Disconnect appliance from the electrical outlet and allow to cool completely.
  2. Wipe down the main body and Heating Plate with a damp, non-abrasive cloth.
  3. Wash all accessories (egg white separator, measuring cup, egg bowl, egg tray and lid) in the sink with warm, soapy water.
  4. Dry all parts with dry, non-abrasive cloth.

Brown stains on heating plate:

  1. The brown stains on the heating plate is simply residue from usage.
Allow the heating plate to cool completely to avoid burns.
  2. Clean using a paper towel or a dish rag and white vinegar to wipe clean the heating plate.

HELPFUL TIPS

NEVER leave the unit unattended while operating.

Smoking

  • During first use, you may notice slight smoking or a slight odor; this is normal with most new appliances. The smoking and odor is caused by the residues burning off the non-stick cooking plates. Allow the appliance to preheat until smoke and odor no longer exists.

Non-stick Cooking Plates

  • For each use, it is recommended that you coat the cooking plates with a non-stick cooking spray or with a small amount of vegetable oil. This will help preserve the longevity of your appliance.
  • Only use heat-resistant nylon, silicone or wooden utensils when operating this unit. Metal utensils can scratch or damage the non-stick cooking plates.

Cooking Tips

  • For healthier waffles, substitute whole grain flour for white flour.
  • To keep waffles crisp when reheating, always reheat in an oven instead of a microwave. Preheat oven to 200˚ F and bake on a baking sheet or wire rack.
  • DO NOT over-mix batter. Batter should be slightly lumpy so that waffles will be light and fluffy when cooked.
  • You can store batter in a tightly-sealed container and refrigerate. Refrigerated batter will remain fresh for up to two days. Because cold batter will thicken, you may need to add a little milk or water to the batter before cooking.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

Please take care of your WAFFLE MAKER by following these simple cleaning directions.

  • Disconnect appliance from the electrical outlet and allow to cool completely.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS!

INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing the 4-QUART ELECTRIC ICE CREAM MAKER from Nostalgia™. The 4-QUART ELECTRIC ICE CREAM MAKER provides a homemade ice cream experience with modern convenience. Simply place the aluminum canister filled with ingredients in the center of the bucket, fill the Bucket with ice, and the electric motor does the churning for you. Soon, delicious ice cream is ready to serve! Makes 4 quarts of ice cream per batch.

PARTS & ASSEMBLY

Take the ELECTRIC ICE CREAM MAKER out of the box and wash the Bucket, Canister, Lid and all accessories (except for Electric Motor and plug) with warm, soapy water.

Carefully wipe down the Electric Motor with a non-abrasive cloth or sponge. NEVER immerse the Electric Motor in water. Dry thoroughly.

Now you are ready to enjoy creamy, delicious ice cream from your ELECTRIC ICE CREAM MAKER.

NOTE: The pictures in this manual may differ slightly from your purchased model. However, the function and operating methods should be the same.

HOW TO OPERATE

  1. First, find a stable surface near an electrical outlet before starting. Make sure the cord is away from any water source. It is acceptable to use an extension cord if  needed.
  2. Chill ice cream Canister until cold to the touch.
  3. Choose your favorite recipe and prepare ice cream mixture per recipe instructions.
  4. Pour chilled ice cream mixture into the chilled Canister. Make sure that you do not  fill Canister more than ²/3 full, as mixture will expand during freezing process.
  5. Insert the Dasher into the Canister and make sure the bottom of the Dasher is properly aligned in the center of the Canister.
  6. Place the Lid on the Canister.
  7. Place the Canister into the bottom center of the Bucket.
  8. Slide the two rectangular ends of the Electric Motor into the two rectangular holes on the rim of the bucket.
  9. Before adding ice, be sure that the ice you put into the bucket is broken into small, rough pieces. You may use a mallet or hammer to break into smaller pieces if needed. For each batch of ice cream, expect to use 1-2 medium bags of ice.
  10. Fill the Bucket with a small layer of ice (about 6 cups) evenly distributed around the base of the Canister.
  11. Cover the first layer of ice evenly with a thin layer of rock salt (about ½ cup). Regular table salt or kosher salt can also be used. Salt is necessary for the freezing process. It may take a total of 2 – 4 cups of salt to freeze ice cream mixture properly (1 lb. salt = 2 cups / 2 lbs. salt = 4 cups). The more salt that you use, the better.
  12. Repeat steps 10 and 11, layering the ice and salt until it reaches the top of the Canister. Stop when the top of the mixture reaches the bottom of the drainage hole on the side of the Bucket. Adding more ice may cause the mixture to leak out of the drainage hole.
  13. As the ice melts down 2 to 3 inches, you may add more ice and more rock salt to the Bucket.
  14. Plug the power cord attached to the Electric Motor into an outlet to turn  unit on.
  15. As the Canister turns, stir and mix the salt and ice together every 10-15 minutes, or as needed, while the ice cream maker is in use.
  16. Turn off and unplug Electric Motor once ice cream has churned for about 30 minutes, or once the Electric Motor has stopped. If the motor stops prematurely, turn it off, break up any ice blockages, and start again.
  17. With one hand on the Canister Lid, remove the Electric Motor from the Bucket. Be careful as the Canister may float in the ice water.
  18. Clear the ice and salt away from the top of the Canister. Wipe carefully to remove the salt and water before removing the cover.
  19. Take the Dasher out and scrape off excess ice cream with a spatula.
  20. Transfer ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze, or serve straight from the Canister. Lid and Lid Cap are included for the option of storing the Canister in the freezer.

HELPFUL TIPS

Taste

Finished ice cream will always taste less sweet than the initial mixture. You may adjust the amount of sugar in the recipe to suit your taste.

Artificial sweeteners may be used in place of sugar. Use the following measurements for reference:

  • 1 packet of sweetener = 2 tsp. of sugar
  • 6 packets of sweetener = ¼ cup of sugar
  • 8 packets of sweetener = ¹/3 cup of sugar
  • 12 packets of sweetener = ½ cup of sugar

Texture

To ensure that ice crystals do not form in ice cream mixture, do not stop the churning process at any time until the ice cream is ready.

If the texture of ice cream is hard or grainy, make sure that you do not have too much rock salt in the ice water. Too much salt can cause the mixture to freeze too quickly, which can also cause ice crystals to form in the ice cream.

Consistency

Homemade ice cream generally has a thick, milkshake texture. If you prefer a thicker, or firm consistency try one of the following:

  • Remove the Dasher and place the Lid and Cap on the Canister. Place Canister in freezer to harden.
  • Remove the Dasher and add more ice to the ice-salt mixture. Cover with a towel and let sit until ice cream becomes firm.
  • Too little salt may inhibit the freezing of the ice cream mixture. Try adding more salt.
  • Recipes that call for alcohol may inhibit the freezing process. Be sure to add any alcohol during the last few minutes of the freezing cycle

Jamming

If the Dasher gets jammed or Electric Motor stops prematurely, try the following:

  • Ice may cause a blockage in the Bucket. Turn off the Electric Motor and make sure that the ice is broken up into small pieces. You may use a plastic stirrer to do this.
  • Make sure that the consistency of the ice cream is not thicker than soft serve ice cream or the Dasher may get stuck.
  • Ice Cream recipes that include hard ingredients like nuts or chocolate chips may cause the Dasher to become lodged in the Canister. DO NOT add hard ingredients until the churning process is done.
  • DO NOT stop the churning process until ice cream is finished. Stopping in the middle of the process can cause the ice cream to harden and restrict the movement of the Dasher.

Freezing

  • DO NOT operate the unit longer than required. If after 30 minutes the mixture has not yet achieved the slush consistency or has thawed again, do not continue. Possible reasons for mixture not chilling or freezing:
    • The Canister was not cold enough. Try adding more ice and salt. Salt is a critical part of the freezing process and you will need plenty of salt added to the ice for the ice cream to freeze properly.
    • The mixture was too warm. Make sure that the ingredients that you add are chilled and not warm, lukewarm or of room temperature before adding to the Canister.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

  1. Make sure the Electric Motor is turned off and the unit is unplugged.
  2. Remove Electric Motor and wipe with slightly damp, non-abrasive cloth. NEVER immerse the Electric Motor in water or any other liquid.
  3. Wash Bucket in warm, soapy water to thoroughly remove all salt water residue.
  4. Wash Canister, Lid and Dasher in warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly. DO NOT replace Lid until the Canister is completely dry.
  5. DO NOT use harsh or abrasive cleaners.
  6. DO NOT place Canister or any other parts in a dishwasher. Hand wash only.
  7. DO NOT freeze the Canister when it is wet.

RECIPES

The ELECTRIC ICE CREAM MAKER makes rich, creamy ice cream anytime! Try these delicious recipes and tips:

  • To reduce the risk of salmonella poisoning caused by raw eggs, heat mixtures with eggs to a temperature of 160° F, but DO NOT bring to a boil. You may also use pasteurized eggs in place of raw eggs.
  • Be sure to add ice cream mixture to Canister and chill for 30 minutes prior to use.
  • For ice cream recipes that require cooking, it is recommended that you cook one day in advance. The mixture will then have time to cool completely and expand.

  3.  CAUTION: The Extractor Head rotates at high speeds. Always keep jewelry, long hair, hands, and face a safe distance away from the machine while in use to avoid possible injury.
  4. NEVER put fingers on or near the Extractor Head or Heating Element while the machine is on or while it is still hot.
  5. NEVER pour sugar directly into the Heating Element. Sugar is FLAMMABLE and may result in smoke or fire.
  6.  NEVER overfill or use more than the directed amount of sugar in the Extractor Head. Overfilling may cause the sugar to fly from the Extractor Head.
  7. DO NOT pour water or any other liquid into the Extractor Head.
  8. The heating element will get hot. Avoid contact until fully cooled.
  9. This unit must be on a level surface to operate properly.

Instructions for the Electrical Cord and Plug

  1. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electrical shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way.  If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plugin any way.

PARTS & ASSEMBLY

Take the HARD CANDY COTTON CANDY MAKER out of the box and wipe down the unit exterior and bowl with a non-abrasive cloth or sponge before using.
To attach the Extractor Head, push down onto the stem and make sure that the grooves are properly aligned to fit over the pegs on the stem.

CAUTION: Failure to fully secure Extractor Head may result in injury.

To attach the Bowl, carefully push the bowl down and turn counterclockwise until it locks into place.
Then attach Rim to Bowl by snapping in place. Now you are ready to enjoy tasty, fluffy cotton candy from your HARD CANDY COTTON CANDY MAKER.

HOW TO OPERATE

  1. First, find a stable surface near an electrical outlet before starting. Make sure the cord is away from any water source. It is acceptable to use an extension cord if needed.
  2. Check to make sure the unit is in the OFF position, then plug into an electrical outlet.
  3. Next, make sure the Extractor Head is in place and fully secured.
CAUTION: DO NOT add sugar or operate the unit without Extractor Head in place.
  4. Turn unit to ON position and Extractor Head will begin to spin. Allow unit to heat for at least 10 minutes before adding flossing sugar or hard candy.
  5.  After allowing the unit to heat for 10 minutes, turn the unit OFF.
  6.  Place no more than two pieces of hard candy, sugar-free hard candy or one scoop of flavored sugar (1 tbsp.) into the Extractor Head. If using hard candies, make sure they are evenly placed on either side of the Extractor Head (see image below).
CAUTION: Do not overfill or use more than the directed amount of sugar in the Extractor Head. Overfilling may clog the unit or cause the sugar to fly from the Extractor Head.
TIP: For best results, we recommend crushing hard candies into smaller pieces before placing them in the Extractor Head.
  7.  Switch the unit to the ON position.
  8. When you see the cotton candy web begin, hold the cone horizontally over the Extractor Head to begin collecting the cotton candy. Rotate the cone with your fingers while you move the cone side to side above the bowl, making sure to collect all the cotton candy (see image below).
CAUTION: Make sure cotton candy webbing does not fall into the Heating Element as sugar is flammable. Turn the unit off and allow to cool before removing fallen sugars from the Heating Element.
CAUTION: The Extractor Head rotates at high speeds. Always keep jewelry, long hair, hands and face a safe distance away from the machine while in use to avoid possible injury.
  9. Repeat the above steps to make more cotton candy. Make sure the Extractor Head is empty before adding another measure of hard candy or flossing sugar into the Extractor Head.
By following these instructions, using your HARD CANDY COTTON CANDY MAKER will be a fun and tasty experience!

HELPFUL TIPS

TEXTURE

If your cotton candy is not flossing properly or is coming out with a brittle, “Easter grass” texture, follow these instructions:

  • Only put in 1-2 hard candies at a time
  • Make sure the candies are evenly placed on either side of the Extractor Head.
  • For best results, break candies up before use.
  • The faster the Extractor Head spins, the better the result.

CLOGGING
If your unit is producing very little cotton candy, your Extractor Head may be clogged with sugar. In this case, turn the unit off and wait for the Extractor Head to stop pinning.
Then use a wooden spoon to tap the Extractor Head to help loosen the sugar.
Also, ensure you are using the best sugar for this unit. Some commercial flossing sugars are not made for this unit. For best results, use Nostalgia brand cotton candy flossing sugar and kits.
The following hard candies (sugar & sugar-free) work best:

  • Fruit Flavors
  • Crème
  • Root Beer
  • Peppermint
  • Cinnamon
  • Coffee
  • Other Assorted Bulk Bag Hard Candy Flavors

The following candies DO NOT work:

  • Caramel
  • Butterscotch
  • Ball-shaped candies
  • Candies with hard sugar shells
  • Gummy or chewy candies
  • Sugar-pressed candies
  • Instant drink mix packets with citric acid

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

Your HARD CANDY COTTON CANDY MAKER disassembles for easy cleaning.

  1.  Make sure the unit is unplugged and has had time to cool down before cleaning.
  2. After cooling, remove the Extractor Head by firmly gripping both sides and pulling straight up. UNLOCK bowl by turning clockwise and lifting. Wash both in warm water, rinse and dry.
  3.  Use a clean, slightly damp, non-abrasive sponge or non-abrasive cloth to wipe down the outside of the unit, along with the area around the heating element. Wipe with a non-abrasive towel to dry.
WARNING: NEVER use an abrasive sponge, scouring pad or steel wool on this unit.
CAUTION: DO NOT clean any part of this unit in a dishwasher. DO NOT immerse the unit in water.

Thank you for purchasing the 6-QUART ICE CREAM MAKER from Nostalgia™. This ice cream maker provides a homemade ice cream experience with modern convenience. Simply place the aluminum canister filled with ingredients in the center of the bucket, fill the bucket with ice, and the electric motor does the churning for you. Soon, delicious ice cream is ready to serve! Makes six quarts of ice cream per batch. Visit www.nostalgiaproducts.com to find out which kits and accessories are available for this product!

PARTS & ASSEMBLY

Take the 6-QUART ICE CREAM MAKER out of the box and wash the Bucket, Canister, Lid, and all accessories (except for Electric Motor and plug) with warm, soapy water.
Carefully wipe down the Electric Motor with a slightly damp, non-abrasive cloth or sponge. NEVER immerse the Electric Motor in water. Dry thoroughly. Now you are ready to enjoy creamy, delicious ice cream from your 6-QUART ICE CREAM MAKER. HOW TO OPERATE

HOW TO OPERATE

  1. First, find a stable surface near an electrical outlet before starting. Make sure the cord is away from any water source. It is acceptable to use an extension cord if needed.
  2.  Chill ice cream Canister until cold to the touch.
  3. Choose your favorite recipe and prepare the ice cream mixture per recipe instructions.
  4. Pour chilled ice cream mixture into the chilled Canister. Make sure that you do not fill the Canister more than ²/3 full, as the mixture will expand during the freezing process.
It may take a total of 2 – 4 cups of salt to freeze the ice cream mixture properly (1 lb. salt = 2 cups / 2 lbs. salt = 4 cups).
  14. Plug the power cord attached to the Electric Motor into an outlet to turn the unit on.
  15. As the Canister turns, stir and mix the salt and ice together every 10-15 minutes, or as needed, while the ice cream maker is in use.
  16. Turn off and unplug Electric Motor once the ice cream has churned for about 30 minutes, or once the Electric Motor has stopped.
Lid and Lid Cap is included for the option of storing the Canister in the freezer.

HELPFUL TIPS

NEVER leave the unit unattended while operating.

Texture
To ensure that ice crystals do not form in the ice cream mixture, do not stop the churning process at any time until the ice cream is ready.
If you prefer a thicker or firmer consistency try one of the following:

  • Remove the Dasher and place the Lid and Cap on the Canister. Place Canister in the freezer to harden.
Be sure to add any alcohol during the last few minutes of the freezing cycle.

Jamming
If the Dasher gets jammed or the Electric Motor stops prematurely, try the following:

  • Ice may cause a blockage in the Wood Bucket. Turn off the Electric Motor and make sure that the ice is broken up into small pieces.

Freezing

  • Add up to one cup of cold water to the ice-salt mixture to speed up the freezing process.

  2. Remove Electric Motor and wipe with a slightly damp, non-abrasive cloth. NEVER immerse the Electric Motor in water or any other liquid.
  3. Wash Bucket in warm, soapy water to thoroughly remove all saltwater residue. Dry thoroughly.
  4. Wash Canister, Lid, and Dasher in warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly. DO NOT replace Lid until the Canister is completely dry.
  5. DO NOT use harsh or abrasive cleaners.
  6. DO NOT place Canister or any other parts in a dishwasher. Hand washes only.
  7. DO NOT freeze the Canister when it is wet.

RECIPES

The 6-QUART ICE CREAM MAKER makes rich, creamy ice cream anytime! Try these delicious recipes and tips:

  •  To reduce the risk of salmonella poisoning caused by raw eggs, heat mixtures with eggs to a temperature of 160° F, but DO NOT bring to a boil. You may also use pasteurized eggs in place of raw eggs.

  2. Ensure the cooking plate is properly attached to the base before operating.
  3. Check cooking plate and heating element for the presence of foreign objects prior to use.

The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded.
  3. WARNING: Improper use of the grounding plug can result in a risk of electric shock. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plugin anyway.
  4. A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled or tripping over a long cord.
  5. The manufacturer does not recommend using this machine in countries that do not support 120V AC even if a voltage adapter, transformer, or converter is in use.

HOW TO OPERATE

Before first use, follow the directions under CLEANING & MAINTENANCE to clean your POPCORN POPPER.

  1. To make popcorn, begin by finding a flat surface near an electrical outlet before starting. Make sure your cord is away from any water
source. It is acceptable to use an extension cord if needed.
  2. Gather your popcorn-making supplies: popcorn, seasonings, cooking oil, and measuring spoon for oil.
  3. Measure up to 3 tablespoons of oil (see step 5 for conversion) and add to the Cooking Plate (oil may also be added through ventilation slots while corn kernels are popping).
  4. Add up to 6 ounces (3/4 cup) of corn kernels. DO NOT exceed 6 ounces total of popcorn kernels.
  5. For every Measuring Cap full of kernels (2 oz.), add 1 tablespoon of oil. For best results, soft-shelled popping corn and coconut or vegetable oil are recommended.
  6. Always remove the Lid while kernels are popping. This will allow steam to vent through the top.
  7. Place the Bowl onto the Cooking Plate and plug in the appliance while the switch is flipped to the OFF position.
  8. Turn the appliance ON by flipping the switch on the Base. Soon you will hear the popping begin!
  9. Once the popping has stopped, turn the unit OFF and unplug from the electrical outlet.
  10. Secure the Lid to the top of the Bowl.
  11. While wearing oven mitts, flip over the Bowl and Cooking Plate, then remove the Cooking Plate. If desired, add popcorn seasons to your popcorn. Use the Cooking Plate to shake and evenly coat your popcorn with seasonings.

HELPFUL TIPS

NEVER leave the unit unattended while operating.

SMOKING
If your POPCORN POPPER begins to smoke during cooking, it may be due to grease buildup.
In order to reduce smoking, make sure that you clean the inside of the Kettle between uses.

POPCORN
The POPCORN POPPER is designed for all regular and premium brands of popping corn. Yellow corn generally pops better than white corn, while
some brands of kernels have a harder outer shell and may result in fewer popped kernels. Try different brands to find which you like best.

If you notice you are experiencing a lot of unpopped kernels, try adding more oil to the Kettle. More oil may help pop more kernels.

Always use fresh popcorn. Dried out, stale, or old popcorn pops poorly as it has lost its moisture content and may scorch. We recommend storing popcorn in an airtight container in a cool place.

Occasionally popcorn does not pop. This is usually the result of environmental factors such as freshness and moisture content of the popcorn, or variances of popcorn type. Unpopped kernels do not necessarily indicate a defect in the appliance.

Once most of the popcorn has finished popping, turn off the unit and dump the bowl. Do not let the popcorn sit on the burner too long – this will avoid burning your popcorn.

When filling the Kernel Measuring Cup, make sure to not fill above the marked line.
Underfilling can cause fewer kernels to pop and more unpopped kernels to come out of the unit. Overfilling can cause popped corn to burn and smoke, as it will overfill the Kettle.

SEASONING
For more buttery popcorn or when adding seasonings, a spritz of olive oil, water, or butter will allow the seasonings to better stick to the popcorn.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

  1. Make sure the appliance is unplugged and completely cooled before cleaning.
  2. Remove the Cooking Plate by lifting up on the handles.
  3. Wash the Cooking Plate and Bowl and Lid in warm, soapy water with a non-abrasive cloth or sponge. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a non-abrasive towel.
NOTE: The Cooking Plate and Bowl may also be placed in the dishwasher.
  4. Clean the exterior of the Base with a non-abrasive, damp, and soapy cloth.
Wipe surface until fully clean and then dry with a dry, non-abrasive cloth.
NEVER use a scouring pad or abrasive cleaners on the Base, as scratching may occur.

Enjoy your freshly popped corn in a variety of ways:

  • Use a recipe for a denser cake, like pound cake or cupcakes.

PARTS & ASSEMBLY

PARTS

Your REFRIGERATOR requires very little assembly. Before using, remove all packing materials from the inside of the refrigerator, and peel off the protective film on the outside of the refrigerator. Check the refrigerator for any damage, such as misaligned or bent door, damaged door seals and sealing surfaces, broken or loose door hinges and latches and dents inside the refrigerator or on the door. If there is any damage, DO NOT use the refrigerator. Return damaged item to the store where it was purchased.ASSEMBLY
Hardware Bottle Opener Assembly

1. Remove the two Screws from the exterior of the refrigerator door using a Phillips-head screwdriver.
2. Align the holes of the Bottle Opener with the holes on the refrigerator door. Secure the Bottle Opener to the door using the two Screws and screwdriver.

HOW TO OPERATE

Before first use, remove all adhesive tape from the drawers, shelves, trays and drain tube plug.

INSTALLATION

1. The refrigerator should be placed on a completely flat surface. Allow 1 foot of space on each side of the refrigerator and between the refrigerator and the wall. Also allow at least 8 inches of space between the top of the refrigerator and the ceiling.
2. Choose a location for your refrigerator that is not exposed to sunlight, high temperature or humidity, as humidity may stain and damage the refrigerator.
3. The appliance can be adjusted by rolling the two legs in the bottom front of the refrigerator if it becomes unstable. Raise the refrigerator by rolling the two legs clockwise.
4. The surface of the location where the refrigerator is installed should be firm and flat. If refrigerator is not secured in a proper location, noise and vibration may occur. The noise may be increased if the floor is not firm. If you have to position the refrigerator on a carpeted floor, place a sheet underneath the refrigerator, such as plywood or a plastic mat, to prevent heat emissions from ruining the carpet.
5. Make sure that legs are pressed firmly into the floor and allow the refrigerator to lean backward slightly so that the doors remain closed.

PLACEMENT OF FOOD

1. There should always be some space between items inside for air circulation.
2. Food should be kept in sealed containers to avoid becoming dry, spoiled or creating odors in the refrigerator.
3. Hot food should be cooled down before placing into the appliance. Otherwise, bacteria will grow in food.
4. Reducing the frequency of opening the doors can lower the electronic consumption.
NOTE: Do not use any electronic equipment inside the appliance.

ADJUSTING TEMPERATURE

The temperature of the refrigerator can be controlled manually by the knob. However, the number shown on the knob does not correlate to the degrees. The higher the number, the lower the interior temperature of the refrigerator will be.
0 = OFF 1 = Higher (warmer) Temperature
2-4 = Normal Use 5 = Lower (colder) Temperature

DEFROSTING

Heavy frost will effect the efficiency and performance of the refrigerator and can create increased energy consumption. If the frost inside of the freezer gets as thick as ¼ inch, you must defrost the refrigerator. Follow these steps to defrost the freezer:

1. Remove all food from the refrigerator and freezer.
2. Uninstall the drawers and shelves.
3. Unplug the power supply cord.
4. Open the doors and wait for the appliance to thaw completely.
5. Clean up the water with dry towels.
NOTE: DO NOT use any other equipment or method to force the defrost process. It may ruin the cooling system.

DISCONNECTING THE APPLIANCE
After a power failure the refrigerator can keep food cool for several hours if doors are kept shut.

  • If the power fails, do not put additional food into the refrigerator or open the doors.
  • If you plan to have your power shut off for an extended period of time, make sure to remove all perishable food from the refrigerator or freezer first.
  • If you stop use of your refrigerator for an extended period of time, unplug the appliance from the outlet.
  • Always wait at least five minutes after unplugging the power supply cord before plugging it back in.

PACKING AND MOVING

Save packing materials if possible and remember how materials are packed in the box. Repack refrigerator and accessories carefully. DO NOT lift or pull the doors or door handles during transportation. When moving, do not tilt appliance more than 45 degrees. Be very careful not to bump the refrigerator into anything. Allow appliance to stand upright for at least 24 hours before plugging into the electrical outlet.

HELPFUL TIPS

• The refrigerator does not work. It may not be properly connected to the power supply, or the voltage may be too low.
• The refrigerator does not work as efficiently as expected. It may be caused by heavy frost, the temperature setting being too warm, or by frequently opening and closing the door.
• It makes strange noises. The noises may be caused by the refrigerator not being stabilized. Make sure the surface that the refrigerator is on is flat and firm. Noise can also be caused by resonation between the refrigerator and objects near it.
• The compressor keeps working for a long period of time. The temperature may be too high. This can also be caused by the frequent opening and closing of the doors, or by the door being left open. Try moving the temperature setting between 4-1.
• The inside of the refrigerator has a bad odor. Food with a strong odor should be packed in tightly closed containers before storing in the refrigerator or freezer. Make sure to regularly clean out your refrigerator and make sure that you do not leave spoiled food in the refrigerator.
• Water is leaking from the bottom of the refrigerator. The drain tube is probably jammed. Contact a qualified technician to repair it.
• Heavy frost occurs in the back of the appliance. Putting humid or hot food into the refrigerator or freezer may cause this problem. Or it may be caused by a lot of moisture in the environment.
• DO NOT place objects on top of the refrigerator that are magnetic, heavy or filled with water. Electronic components may not work properly if water gets inside. DO NOT store valuables or objects sensitive to temperature inside the refrigerator or freezer.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS!

INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing the 3-TIER CHOCOLATE FONDUE FOUNTAIN. This chocolate
fountain creates a cascade of sweetness that will add mouth-watering fun to any occasion. Your friends and family will enjoy snacks, appetizers and desserts with the 3-TIER CHOCOLATE FONDUE FOUNTAIN. Please take care of your machine by following these simple instructions. You can use a variety of chocolates and sauces with your 3-TIER CHOCOLATE FONDUE FOUNTAIN to create the flavor you desire. Try the following:

  • Milk Chocolate
  • Dark Semi-Sweet Chocolate
  • White Chocolate
  • Butterscotch

Dip strawberries, marshmallows, apple wedges, pretzels, cookies, ice cream balls, peanut butter balls – use your imagination! Add liqueurs for sophisticated flavors.

You can also melt cheese to create a cheese fondue fountain. Dip grapes, apples, breads, shrimp, crackers, and pretzels – use your imagination! In order to use cheese, you just need to prepare the cheese as you would for a regular fondue pot by diluting it with white wine or cream to keep it liquid, enabling it to flow through the tower. Powdered cheese may be used as well.

Barbeque sauces may also be used. Try your favorite barbeque sauce and dip cooked chicken cubes, beef/steak cubes, pork cubes or shrimp. Keep in mind the consistency of the sauce needs to be thin. Use wine, liquor or other liquids to thin the sauce.

PARTS & ASSEMBLY

Your CHOCOLATE FONDUE FOUNTAIN requires little assembly. Prior to use, wipe out Bowl with a damp cloth and dry. Wash Auger and Tower in warm soapy water, rinse, then dry.

After cleaning, return Auger to Base. Make sure Auger is securely in place by aligning the opening on the bottom of the Auger with the Base Pin. Do not attempt to place Auger or Tower on Base or remove from Base while the motor is running. Make sure the Tower is fitted on the posts in the Base properly.

SWITCH POSITIONS
Left: Heat Motor / Right: Heat / Center: OFF

HOW TO OPERATE

  • First, find a stable surface near an electrical outlet before starting. Unit must be level to operate properly and to create the desired flowing effect. Make sure your cord is away from any water source. If needed, it is acceptable to use an extension cord.
  • Turn the switch to the right to start the HEAT function on the CHOCOLATE FONDUE
FOUNTAIN. Let the unit warm up for at least 3 to 5 minutes before adding melted chocolate.
  • While the machine is warming up, get a microwaveable bowl. Fill bowl with two bags of chocolate chips (24 ounces) and ¾ of a cup of oil. If you are using Belgian Chocolate, you do not need to add oil.
  • Place in microwave for 2½ minutes. When done, stir chocolate. If necessary, continue to warm chocolate in microwave until melting is complete (another 2 to 2½ minutes). DO NOT heat chocolate over 110o F as warping of the towers may occur.
  • Never add cool or cold liquids to the melted chocolate in the fountain as this will stop the flow.
  • Chocolate needs to be completely melted and of thin consistency to allow proper flow. Use a large spoon to test the consistency of the chocolate. If the chocolate drips too thickly from the spoon, add more oil to the mixture.
  • Once the chocolate is completely melted and of proper consistency, turn the switch the the left on the CHOCOLATE FONDUE FOUNTAIN to the MOTOR
HEAT position, so the motor and the heater are running at the same time.
  • Carefully pour the melted chocolate into the Bowl at the base of the Tower. The melted chocolate should be drawn under the Tower and carried up the Tower by the Auger. Chocolate should then begin to flow from the top of the Tower and cascade evenly down each tier.
  • The CHOCOLATE FONDUE FOUNTAIN must be level to ensure proper sheeting of the chocolate. Be careful not to drop pieces of food into the Bowl which clogs the flow of chocolate.

HELPFUL TIPS

  • If chocolate begins to drip instead of flow down the Tower, the chocolate is too thick. Thin the chocolate by adding vegetable oil. Also, make sure that the unit is level.
  • If the chocolate is flowing unevenly, the unit is not level. Make sure that the unit is on a level surface so that the chocolate is evenly distributed.
  • If the flow is intermittent, interrupted or not flowing properly, check to see if there are chunks of food in the Bowl of the Base that may be clogging the chocolate flow.
  • Never add cool or cold liquid to the CHOCOLATE FONDUE FOUNTAIN as this will stop the flow of the fountain.
  • DO NOT heat chocolate over 110o F as warping of the towers may occur.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

To prolong the life of your CHOCOLATE FONDUE FOUNTAIN be sure to follow cleaning instructions after every use. Never use anything abrasive on the base to maintain the original finish.

  1. Make sure unit is unplugged before cleaning. Allow parts to COOL to the touch. Tower, Auger, and Base can get VERY HOT!
  2. Before first use and continuing after each use, be sure to wash the Tower
and Auger thoroughly. AVOID washing parts in the dishwasher.
  3. To make cleaning of the CHOCOLATE FONDUE FOUNTAIN easier, carefully remove the Tower and Auger (after cooling) and wipe off remaining chocolate with paper towels. Wash in warm, soapy water, rinse and dry.
  4. Carefully pour out as much remaining chocolate from the Bowl as possible. Use non-abrasive, damp sponge or cloth to wipe clean the rest of the unit. Then, wipe with a non-abrasive towel to dry.

DO NOT POUR OUT EXCESS OR LEFTOVER CHOCOLATE DOWN ANY DRAIN. POUR INTO A PLASTIC BAG OR DISPOSABLE CONTAINER THEN PUT INTO THE GARBAGE.

RECIPES

For best results, chocolate should contain 60% cocoa. Any higher percentage of cocoa will require the addition of vegetable oil to thin out the mixture.

DO NOT ADD ANY COLD LIQUIDS TO FOUNTAIN DURING OPERATION.
This will cause your mixture to thicken and not flow properly.

Enhance the flavor of your chocolate using liqueurs.
Try these delectable chocolate creations:

Orange Chocolate:
Orange Liqueur or Orange Concentrate

Chocolate Hazelnut:
Hazelnut Liqueur

Coffee Chocolate:
Amaretto

Mint Chocolate:
Crème de Menthe

Chocolate Macaroon:
Crème de Coconut

Chocolate Liqueur:
Any Brand of Chocolate Liqueur

To burn the alcohol off of the liqueur:

  • Prior to mixing the liqueur with the chocolate, measure ¼ cup of liqueur (more or less depending on taste) and pour into a small cooking pot.
  • Cook the liqueur on the stove top and bringing to a boil.
  • Mix the liqueur with choice of chocolate before adding to The CHOCOLATE FONDUE FOUNTAIN.
