C. Head
D. Nozzle adapter
E. Stainless steel tulip decorating nozzle
F. Stainless steel straight decorating nozzle
G. Inlet Valve
H. Stainless steel narrow decorating nozzle

Nozzle cleaning brush (not shown)

NOTE: This device requires the use of standard 8-gram Nitrous Oxide (N2O) chargers. These can be purchased from most large supermarkets and restaurant supply stores.

BEFORE FIRST USE

Unscrew and thoroughly clean all parts of your Gourmet Hot or Cold Whipper with warm water and dish soap. We do not recommend cleaning this device in a dishwasher, as this may damage the canister or the head. Use the included nozzle brush to clean the decorating nozzles. Allow all parts to air dry before use.

USING THE GOURMET HOT OR COLD WHIPPER

FIG

  1. Raise or Lower the Canister Temperature
For best results, you must heat or chill the canister. To do this, fill the canister with hot or cold water and let it sit for a few minutes. Empty the water before adding your ingredients.
  2. Add Mixture to Canister [FIG. 1]
Add well-chilled fresh whipping cream and/or other ingredients depending on the recipe. Fill the canister to about 2/3 capacity, as the contents will expand under pressure. Do not overfill canister. When preparing recipes, granulated salt or sugar or other powdered ingredients must be fully dissolved in milk, cream or water before filling in order to avoid clogging the device. For sweetening, it is best to use powdered sugar or liquid sweeteners. Any solid ingredients such as fruits, vegetables and coarse spices must be pureed and passed through a fine sieve before being poured into the canister.
  3. Assemble the Head [FIG. 2]
Locate the large gasket that sits between the head and the canister. Place the gasket inside the head and screw head onto canister evenly and firmly. The head is in place correctly when no thread is visible. Do not cross-thread. If you cannot find the threading, remove the head and try again.
  4. Insert a Charger [FIG. 3]
Insert one 8-gram Nitrous Oxide (N2O) charger into the charger holder. Use only a new, high-quality whipped cream charger. (Do not use a CO2 charger meant for a soda machine.)
  5. Charge the Canister [FIG. 4]
Screw the charger holder onto the inlet valve until the charger content is fully released with a hissing sound. Use 1 charger for each recipe unless otherwise specified. Never use more than 2 chargers at one time in this device.
  6. Shake the Canister
Shake the Whipper briskly 4 to 5 times in a vertical direction. (When using well cooled light cream or other mixture, shake up to 10 times.) Then unscrew the charger holder. The light hissing sound while unscrewing is normal. Remove and recycle the empty steel charger according to local regulations.
NOTE: Do not “over shake” the canister, as this may actually harden the cream too much. Too much agitation can create butter. However, if the whipped cream is not firm enough, shake once more. When using later, do not shake again.
  7. Dispensing the Whipped Cream [FIG. 5]
Attach a decorating nozzle to the nozzle adapter achieve your desired effect. To dispense, hold the Whipper vertically (with the decorating nozzle pointed downward) about 1 inch above the surface. To decorate, depress the lever. This will open the valve and allow the cream to exit. Serve immediately after dispensing.
  8. Storing the Whipped Cream
If you do not use the entire contents of the canister, you can save it for future use. The whipped cream will stay fresh in the refrigerator for several days. However, we recommend that you remove the decorating nozzle from the nozzle adapter, rinse it thoroughly and then put it back on. This way, the decorating nozzle will be clean and ready for the next use. IMPORTANT: Always keep your Gourmet Hot or Cold Whipper in the refrigerator (never in the freezer).

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

IMPORTANT: Before removing the head, allow the remaining pressure to escape by depressing the lever.

  1. After you are certain all the pressure has escaped, unscrew the head and remove the gasket and decorating nozzle. Hold the end of the valve inside the head while unscrewing the nozzle adapter with the other hand.
  2. Thoroughly clean each individual component with mild dish detergent and a brush. Do not wash any components in a dishwasher, as this may damage the components. Do not use sharp objects or abrasive materials to clean this device.
  3. Allow all parts to air dry thoroughly. Store the device disassembled.

SAFETY WARNINGS

  1. Do not store the Gourmet Hot or Cold Whipper in the freezer.
  2. Do not expose the Gourmet Hot or Cold Whipper to extreme heat (stove, direct sunlight, microwave, etc.).
  3. Do not unscrew the head of the Gourmet Hot or Cold Whipper until all of the pressure has been released. To do this, press the lever until all of the hissing noise stops.
  4. Clean the Gourmet Hot or Cold Whipper after every use according to these instructions.
  5. The Gourmet Hot or Cold Whipper is designed for easy assembly and use. Never use force to assemble or use this device.
  6. Charge the canister as shown in FIG. 4. Use only new, 8-gram Nitrous Oxide (N2O) chargers from a reputable source. Do not use Carbon Dioxide (CO2) chargers meant for soda machines.
  7. Do not use more than 2 chargers in this device at one time.
  8. If contents do not dispense, the device may be clogged. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO UNSCREW THE HEAD WHILE IT IS PRESSURIZED. Place the Gourmet Hot or Cold Whipper on the countertop and wait until the contents have settled on the bottom. Then, cover the head with a thick cloth and press the lever several times until all of the pressure escapes completely. After the gas has escaped, carefully unscrew the head.
  9. Do not attempt to modify or repair this device. There are no user-serviceable parts. Do not use parts from other whippers with this device.
  10. This device is for adult use only. Keep this device and the Nitrous Oxide (N2O) chargers out of the reach of children at all times.
  11. Do not use this device for anything other than its intended purpose.
  12. Do not use this device if it appears to be damaged. If it is received in damaged condition, contact Sharper Image Customer Service immediately for a replacement.
  13. Keep this User’s Guide for future reference.

  2. Cut the cotton bud in half and insert into the tip of the device.
  3. Dip cotton bud into the conductive gel making sure the gel also covers the cotton bud holder at the tip of the control unit.
  4. Hold the Fine Facial Hair Remover like a pen and slide the switch to the PROBE position. (Red power light should illuminate to confirm battery is working). See illustrations on Page 5 for proper holding technique.
  5. Put the device on the hair removal area and press the silver activator button. The green LED light will come on when you’ve made good contact with the conductive gel, and a buzzer will go off after 20 seconds to notify you that the treatment is finished.

Note: If you do not touch the gel continuously, the green conductivity light will go out. Do not exceed one 20-second treatment per day in the same treatment area (2-cm diameter). Do not exceed a maximum of 3 treatments per week in one treatment area.

Note: To avoid shock do not hold the silver activator button down after the green conductivity LED light illuminates.

HOW TO USE TREATMENT TWEEZERS WITH THE FINE FACIAL HAIR REMOVER

  1. Thoroughly clean treatment area and remove any makeup. The area must be completely clean, dry and non-greasy. Cut long hairs as short as possible with scissors or a razor before use.

  12. Slide mode switch to OFF.
  13. Remove hairs with tweezers (optional).
  14. Place conductive pads onto the silicon backing sheet after use to preserve self-adhesive for next treatment.

Note: Remember, hair removal is a cumulative process. The longer you use this product, the more effective it will be. Hair grows in a cycle of 8-12 weeks. With regular use, you should see results in about 60 days.

PROPER HOLDING TECHNIQUE

TROUBLESHOOTING

Red light will not go on.
This normally indicates the 2 x AA alkaline batteries need replacing. Be sure to insert fresh, new batteries with correct polarity.

Green conductivity light will not go on.
Poor conductivity may be due to treatment area not being clean, or insufficient gel. Make sure your finger is damp when touching the silver probe button when touching the hair. This helps with conductivity. Make sure the cotton bud is thoroughly damp and pushed firmly into the control unit so that the cotton touches the gold metal ring. Check that the red power light is on. If not, the batteries probably need replacing.

HOVERBOARD
Item No.207208

Hoverboard

Thank you for purchasing the Sharper Image Hoverboard. Please read this guide and store it for future reference.

WHAT DOES UL LISTING MEAN?
UL Listing means that UL (Underwriters Laboratories) has tested representative samples of the product and determined that it meets their requirements. These requirements are based primarily on UL’s published and nationally recognized Standards for safety.

WHAT DOES UL 2272 CERTIFIED MEAN?
UL supports retailers and manufacturers by offering electrical and fire-safety testing and certification under UL 2272, Electrical Systems for Self-Balancing Scooters. This standard evaluates the safety of the electrical drive train system and battery and charger system combinations but does NOT evaluate for performance, reliability, or rider safety.

INTRODUCTION
The Hoverboard is a personal transportation vehicle that has been tested for safety. However, operating this vehicle poses certain inherent risks, including injury and/or property damage. Please wear appropriate safety gear at all times while operating your Hoverboard and be sure to read the contents of this manual prior to operation in order to minimize risks.

WARNING!
• In order to avoid dangers that are caused by collisions, falls, and/or loss of control, please learn how to ride your Hoverboard safely outdoors in a flat, open environment
• This manual includes all operating instructions and precautions. All users must read this manual carefully and follow the instructions. Please wear all appropriate safety gear, including a helmet certified by the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission). Please follow all local laws regarding use in public areas and roadways.

DESCRIPTION OF PARTS
1. Fender
2. Mats
3. Display Board
4. Tire and Motor
5. LED Light
6. Underbody Protection

Description of Hoverboard Parts

OPERATING YOUR HOVERBOARD
The Hoverboard uses gyroscopes and acceleration sensors to control balance intelligently depending on your center of gravity. The Hoverboard also uses a servo-control system to drive the motor. It adapts to the human body, so when you stand on the Hoverboard, just lean your body forward or backward. The power plant will control the wheels in a forward or backward motion to keep you balanced.
To turn, simply slow down and lean your body left or right. The built-in inertia dynamic stabilization system will maintain the direction frontwards or backwards. However, it cannot guarantee stability while turning left or right. As you drive the Hoverboard, please shift your weight in order to overcome the centrifugal force and improve your safety while turning.

Operating procedure for Hoverboard

MAT SENSORS
There are four sensors under the mats. When the user steps on the mats, the Hoverboard will automatically initiate self-balance mode.
A. While driving the Hoverboard, you must be sure to step on the foot mats evenly. DO NOT STEP ON ANY AREA OTHER THAN THE MATS.
B. Please do not put items on the mats. This will make the Hoverboard switch on, which could potentially cause injury to people, or damage to the unit.

DISPLAY BOARD
The Display Board is located in the middle of the Hoverboard. It displays the current information of the device.

Display board of Hoverboard

BATTERY DISPLAY
A. A solid GREEN LED light indicates that the Hoverboard is fully charged and ready to use. The ORANGE LED light indicates that the battery is low and needs to be recharged. When the LED light becomes RED, the battery is depleted and needs to be charged immediately.
B. Running LED: When the operator triggers the mat sensors, the running LED will light up. GREEN means that the system has entered into a running state. When the system has an error during operation, the running LED light will turn RED.

SAFETY
We hope every user can drive their Hoverboard safely.
If you recall learning how to ride a bicycle, or learning how to ski or roller blade, the same sensation applies to this vehicle.

1. Please follow the safety instructions in this manual. We strongly recommend that you read the manual carefully before operating your Hoverboard for the first time. Check for tire damage, loose parts, etc. before driving. If there are any abnormal situations, please contact our Customer Service department immediately.
2. Do not use the Hoverboard incorrectly, as this may endanger the safety of persons or property.
3. Do not open or modify the parts of the Hoverboard, as this may cause serious injury. There are no user-serviceable parts in the Hoverboard.

WEIGHT LIMIT
The following two points are the reason we’ve set a weight limit for the Hoverboard:
1. To ensure the safety of the user.
2. To reduce damage due to overload.
• Maximum Load: 220 lbs. (100 kg)
• Minimum Load: 50.6 lbs. (23kg)

MAXIMUM DRIVING RANGE
The Hoverboard operates for a maximum of 14.9 miles. There are several factors that will affect the driving range, such as:
Grade: A smooth, flat surface will increase the driving range, while an incline or hilly terrain will reduce the range.
Weight: The weight of the driver can affect the driving range.
Ambient Temperature: Please ride and store the Hoverboard at the recommended temperature, which will increase its driving range.
Maintenance: A consistent battery charge will help increase the range and the life of the battery.
Speed and Driving Style: Maintaining a moderate speed will increase the range. On the contrary, frequent starting, stopping, acceleration, and deceleration will reduce the range.

SPEED LIMIT
The Hoverboard has a top speed of 6.2mph (10 kmh). When the speed is close to the maximum allowable speed, the buzzer alarm will ring. The Hoverboard will keep the user balanced up to the maximum speed. If the speed exceeds the safety limit, the Hoverboard will automatically tilt the driver back in order to reduce the speed to a safe rate.

LEARNING TO DRIVE
STEP 1: Place the Hoverboard on a flat surface
STEP 2: To turn on your Hoverboard, press the Power Button
STEP 3: Put one foot on the pad. This will trigger the pedal switch and turn on the indicator light.
The system will automatically enter self-balancing mode. Next, place your other foot on the other pad.
STEP 4: After standing up successfully, keep your balance and center of gravity stable while the Hoverboard is in a stationary state. Make small forward or backward movements using your entire body. DO NOT MAKE ANY SUDDEN MOVEMENTS.
STEP 5: To turn left or right, lean your body in the direction you wish to go. Positioning your right foot forward will turn the vehicle LEFT. Positioning your left foot forward will turn the vehicle RIGHT.
STEP 6: Keep the Hoverboard balanced. Take one foot off the mat quickly, then remove the other foot.

WARNING!
DO NOT JUMP onto your Hoverboard. This will cause severe damage. Carefully step onto the device only.

NOTE
• Do not turn sharply
• Do not turn at high speeds
• Do not drive quickly on slopes
• Do not turn quickly on slopes

Learning to Drive

SAFE MODE
During operation, if there is a system error, the Hoverboard will prompt drivers in different ways. An alarm indicator lights up, a buzzer sounds intermittently, and the system will not enter self balancing mode in these circumstances:
• If you get on the Hoverboard while the platform is tilted forwards or backward
• If the battery voltage is too low
• If the Hoverboard is in charging mode
• If you are driving too fast
• If the battery has a short
• If the motor temperature is too high

In Protection Mode, the Hoverboard will turn off if:
• The platform is tilted forward or backward more than 35 degrees
• The tires are blocked
• The battery is too low
• There is a sustained high discharge rate during performance (such as driving up steep slopes)

WARNING!
When the Hoverboard goes into Protection Mode (engine off), the system will halt. Press the foot pad to unlock. Do not continue to drive the Hoverboard when the battery is exhausted, as this may lead to injury or damage. Continued driving under low power will affect battery life.

PRACTICING DRIVING
Learn how to drive the Hoverboard in an open area until you can easily get on and off the device, move forwards and backwards, turn, and stop.
• Dress in casual clothes and flat shoes
• Drive on flat surfaces
• Avoid crowded places
• Be aware of overhead clearance to avoid injury
