How to Set Up Open Move

  1.  Charge
    Charge the headphones with the included USB-C charging cable. The LED indicator will change from red to blue when charging is complete.
  2.  Pair
    Begin with your headphones powered off. Enter pairing mode by pressing and holding volume+ until Audrey says “pairing” and the LED indicator flashes red and blue.
  3. Connect

Multipoint Pairing

Multipoint pairing allows OpenMove to be connected to two devices at once, allowing users to seamlessly transition between the two.

  1. Begin with your headphones powered off.
  2. Press and hold volume+ until Audrey says “pairing” and the LED indicator flashes red and blue.
  3. Press and hold the multifunction button and volume+ button for 3 seconds. Audrey says “multipoint enabled”.
  4. Open your first device’s Bluetooth®menu and select “OpenMove by AfterShokz.” Audrey says “connected”.
  5.  Turn your headphones off.
  6. Re-enter pairing mode by pressing and holding volume+ until Audrey says “pairing” and the LED indicator flashes red and blue.
  7.  Open your second device’s Bluetooth®menu and select “OpenMove by AfterShokz.” Audrey says “connected”.
  8.  Turn your headphones off.
  9. Turn your headphones on. Your headphones are now connected to both devices. Audrey says “connected” and “device 2 connected”.
  10. To turn off multipoint pairing: Press and hold the multifunction and volume – buttons for 3 seconds when pairing. Audrey says”multipoint disabled”.

  1. Begin with your headphones powered off.
  2. Enter pairing mode by pressing and holding volume+ until Audrey says “pairing” and the LED indicator flashes red and blue.
  3. Press and hold the multifunction button, volume+ button, and volume- button(all three buttons) simultaneously for 3-5 seconds, until you hear two beeps or feel vibrations.
  4. Turn your headphones off. OpenMove is now reset and can be re-paired to your device.

Optional Accessories

Earplugs (D)
Use earplugs with headphones in environments where it is safe to block out ambient noise, such as on a train or airplane.

  1.  Roll earplugs firmly between fingers and place in ears.
  2. To adjust EQ settings for earplugs, press and hold volume+ and volume- buttons simultaneously while music is playing. Continue through options until “earplug mode.”
  3. Switch EQ to other settings when you take out the earplugs.

Are AfterShokz OpenMove waterproof?

OpenMove are rated IP55 in terms of waterproofness, therefore, they can be exposed to light sweat/ moisture and dust but we do not recommend showering with them.

Can I wear AfterShokz in shower?

No, they are water-resistant but not waterproof. You could and almost definitely would damage these in the shower. They might work in a bath if you’re not going to dunk your head.

Can I use AfterShokz with Iphone?

Yes, I have two Aftershokz headphones, including the OpenComm headset, and they both pair easily with my Apple iphone and mini ipad.

Can AfterShokz be used to make/take calls?

Yes. All our wireless models are equipped with dual noise canceling microphones for making and taking phone calls when paired with a smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device.

Can you sleep with AfterShokz?

Believe it or not, many people use their AfterShokz headphones to sleep! Turn out the lights, throw on some white noise, and get comfy. If you sleep with a snoring partner or you have pets running around that could disturb your shut-eye, your earplugs will definitely come in handy!

Does AfterShokz turn off automatically?

The right earpiece features two buttons to control the volume. The volume-up button also doubles as the power button. Long-press it to turn the device on and off—which you’ll want to remember, since the headphones don’t turn themselves off automatically.

Where is mute button on AfterShokz?

The volume up and down buttons. Pressing and holding the volume up turns the headset on or off. Pressing both for two seconds will mute/unmute the mic when on a call.

How do you check an AfterShokz battery?

Step 1. Charge
Charge the headphones with the included micro-USB cable. The micro-USB charging port is located on the right side of the headphones (as worn) and enclosed by a small protective hinged cover. The hinged cover can be lifted by using a fingernail. When the hinged cover is lifted, the Micro-USB charging port is revealed. The LED indicator will turn blue when charging is complete.
Step 2. Pair
While off, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds to enter pairing mode. The LED indicator will flash blue and red repeatedly while in discovery.
Step 3. Connect
Enable the Bluetooth® settings on your device and select “Trekz Air by AfterShokz”. The LED indicator will turn blue once connected.

Begin by holding the headphones horizontally, with the transducer side facing up, closest to your body. Lift the headphones over your head, so the back of the wraparound headband sets in place at the base of the head, and the transducers rest on your cheekbones in front of your ears (not nested inside or covering your ears).

(The multifunction button is a triangle button located on the outside of the left transducer)

Click the multifunction button once.

Skip to next song:

Fitband
Silicon rubber bands provide adjustability to accommodate smaller head sizes.
Step 1. Slide Fitband over the right transducer and along the right arm to rest over the charging port.
Step 2. Slide the second Fitband over the left transducer and along the left arm to align evenly with the right arm.
Step 3. Rotate the Fitbands around the arms until the desired fit is achieved.

Moisture Detected Alert

This device can detect liquid residue. During charging, if there is sweat or other liquid residues in the charging interface, the device’s light will flash blue and red. The core of the headphones will also vibrate and emit a “Beeb Beeb” warning sound. Please dry the liquid on the charging port and then the device can be charged normally.

  7. Turn on the Bluetooth of your second device and connect the headphones to this.
  8. Turn off the headphones.
  9. Turn on the headphones, you will now be connected to both devices.
  10. To turn off this feature: Press and Hold the MFB for 3 seconds until the voice prompt says “multipoint disabled”.

How to Set Up OpenComm

Charge
Use the included magnetic induction cable to charge the headset. The LED indicator will change from red to blue when charging is complete.

 Pair
Start with your headset powered off. Enter pairing mode by pressing and holding the volume+ button until OpenComm says “pairing” and the LED indicator flashes red and blue.

Connect
Open your device’s Bluetooth® menu and select “OpenComm by AfterShokz.” OpenComm will say “connected” and the LED indicator will flash blue one time when a connection has been established.

NFC Function ( Near Field Communication)

Headset support NFC pairing.

  1. Power on the headphones or set to pairing mode.
  2. Position the NFC sign area of the headset close to the NFC detection area of mobile device.
  3. Blue light will flash one time when headset is paired successfully, and OpenComm will say “connected”.

Moisture Detection Alarm

Headset has a moisture detecting function. If moisture is present on the charging port while being charged, the headset will vibrate with an audible “beep” warning.

Restore Factory Settings

Start with the headset powered off. Set the headset to pairing mode. To do this, hold the Multifunction button, volume+, and volume- button at the same time for 3 seconds, until you hear the notification tone and feel the vibration. Power the headset off.

Storage and Maintenance

  1. Headset should be kept in cool and dry place, with a temperature from 0°C to 45°C. Working in an extremely cold, extremely hot, or high humidity environment may limit the working time and shorten the battery life of the headset.
  2. Please charge the headset when it has not been in use for an extended period of time.
  3. Listening at a high volume may damage your hearing and distort the audio quality.
  4. Please only clean headset with a soft dry cloth.
  5. Please do not charge headset immediately after exercising in order to prevent damage to the headset circuitry that can be caused by liquid residue exposure.
  6. Keeping the charging port dry will reduce the possibility of damaging the headset.

Why can’t I connect to my headset?

Make sure your headset is powered on and in pairing mode. Make sure your device is set to search for Bluetooth® devices.

Why do I hear static when I listen to music?

You may be too far from your device or there may be interference. Move closer to your device or change the location.

Why do I hear a high-pitched tone when I listen to music?

This is a normal condition due to the bone conduction technology. It does not affect the sound quality.

How many devices can AfterShokz Opencomm connect to?

Shokz headphones are two devices equipped with multipoint pairing capabilities, which allows users to connect to two devices at the same time. While you won’t receive audio from both devices at the same time, you’ll be able to transition from one device to the other.

Does AfterShokz cancel noise?

Yes. All our wireless models are equipped with dual noise canceling microphones for making and taking phone calls when paired with a smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device.

Can I connect my AfterShokz to my computer?

For Android devices, you need to enter the Bluetooth settings, turn on Bluetooth, and start searching for the headphones. Once the device picks up the headphones, tap on the name and click to pair.

Can I wear AfterShokz in the rain?

AfterShokz are designed to accompany you on every adventure, so it’s no surprise when our customers ask how their new headphones will fair in the rain. Aeropex and Xtrainerz are both waterproof and can be used in the rain, for watersports, and everything in between!

Can I shower with my AfterShokz?

No, they are water-resistant but not waterproof. You could and almost definitely would damage these in the shower. They might work in a bath if you’re not going to dunk your head.

What is the difference between Shokz and AfterShokz?

AfterShokz has been officially renamed as Shokz, creating a “shorter, more powerful word that is easier to remember and share, helping to spread the word and bring the benefits of open-ear listening to more sports enthusiasts”.

How long does it take to charge AfterShokz OpenComm?

OpenComm headsets will charge in 1 hr with the unique quick charging cable they come with.

How do I know if my AfterShokz are fully charged?

When fully charged, the LED will turn blue. To protect your headphones from damage, moisture, or debris, remember to secure the protective rubber flap over the charging port back in place. Please allow time for your headphones to air dry from rain, snow or sweat before you begin charging.
