Care and Maintenance

Before attempting any cleaning or maintenance, unplug the Ice Cream
Maker from the mains power supply and check that it has fully cooled.
Allow the fast-freezing bowl to reach room temperature before cleaning. Separate the transparent lid from the Ice Cream Maker
power unit by gently squeezing the release clips on the underside of the transparent lid and carefully pulling the two pieces apart.
STEP 1: Wipe the Ice Cream Maker power unit and the fast-freezing bowl with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
STEP 2: Clean the paddle in warm, soapy water, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Use a nonabrasive scourer if the food is difficult to remove.
Do not immerse the Ice Cream Maker in water or any other liquid.
Never use harsh or abrasive cleaning detergents or scourers to clean the Ice Cream Maker or its accessories, as this could damage the surface.
Note: The Ice Cream Maker should be cleaned after each use. The accessories are not suitable for dishwasher use.

Instructions for Use

Before First Use
STEP 1: Check that the Ice Cream Maker is switched off and unplugged from the mains power supply.
STEP 2: Wipe the Ice Cream Maker power unit with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
Do not immerse the Ice Cream Maker power unit in water or any other liquid.
Note: When using the Ice Cream Maker for the first time, a slight odour may be emitted. This is normal and will soon subside. Allow for sufficient ventilation around the Ice Cream Maker.

Assembling the Ice Cream Maker

The Ice Cream Maker comes preassembled. If disassembled due to cleaning, check that the
Ice Cream Maker is dry, switched off and unplugged from the mains power supply before reassembling.
STEP 1: Slot the transparent lid onto the Ice Cream Maker power unit by aligning the holes with the corresponding clips.
STEP 2: Insert the paddle into the central hole on the Ice Cream Maker power unit.
STEP 3: Place the Ice Cream Maker power unit onto the fast-freezing bowl; it should sit neatly with the tabs slotting into the corresponding wells on the rim.
STEP 4: Twist the transparent lid in a clockwise direction and lock it into place.

Using the Ice Cream Maker

STEP 1: Approx. 8 hours before making the ice cream, place the fast-freezing bowl into the freezer to chill. Make sure the temperature is set to -18 °C or below.
STEP 2: Prepare the ice cream mixture and place it in the fridge to cool.
STEP 3: Once the fast-freezing bowl has chilled to the required temperature, remove it from the freezer and place it onto a flat, stable surface at a height that is comfortable for the user.
STEP 4: Pour the ice cream mixture into the fast-freezing bowl, leaving a 4 cm gap between the mixture and the rim.
STEP 5: Assemble the Ice Cream Maker following the instructions in the section entitled ‘Assembling the Ice Cream Maker’.
STEP 6: Plugin and switch on the Ice Cream Maker at the mains power supply.
STEP 7: Turn on the Ice Cream Maker using the on/off switch. Allow between 30 and 45 minutes for the mixture to thicken.
STEP 8: Once the desired consistency is achieved, turn off the Ice Cream Maker using the on/off switch. Unplug it from the mains power supply and remove the transparent lid.
STEP 9: Place the fast-freezing bowl into the freezer until ready to serve.

Hints and Tips

1. The freezer should be set to a temperature of at least -18 °C when placing the fast-freezing bowl into the freezer to chill.
2. Refrigerate the ice cream or sorbet mixture beforehand to aid the ice cream making process.
3. Do not shake, puncture or heat the fast-freezing bowl, as this could cause damage.
4. Do not add alcohol to the ice cream mixture, as this will prevent the mixture from freezing.

Storage

Check that the Ice Cream Maker power unit is cool, clean and dry before storing in a cool, dry place.
Never wrap the cord tightly around the Ice Cream Maker; wrap it loosely to avoid causing damage.
Store the fast-freezing bowl in the freezer at all times so that it is always ready to use.

Banana Ice Cream
Ingredients
12 g icing sugar
½ large, ripe banana
50 ml skimmed milk
25 ml double cream
Method
Mash the banana until smooth. Mix in the milk, double cream and icing sugar.
Pour the mixture into the fast-freezing bowl. Turn on the Ice Cream Maker and secure the lid. Let the paddle run until the ice cream reaches the desired consistency. Place the fast freezing bowl into the freezer until ready to serve.

Mint Chocolate Ice Cream
Ingredients
50 ml skimmed milk
50 ml double cream
12 g icing sugar
12 g grated chocolate
Peppermint extract,
to taste
Method
Mix in the milk, double cream and icing sugar. Stir the peppermint extract into the mixture.
Add the grated chocolate. Pour the mixture into the fast-freezing bowl. Turn on the Ice Cream Maker. Let the paddle run until the ice cream reaches the desired consistency. Place the fast-freezing bowl into the freezer until ready to serve.

Mango Sorbet
Ingredients
1 fresh mango, peeled,
stones removed
1 lemon, juice only
100 g icing sugar, sifted
Method
Roughly chop the mango flesh and place into a food processor with the icing sugar and lemon juice. Blend to a puree. Pour the mixture into the fast-freezing bowl. Turn on the Ice Cream Maker and secure the lid. Let the paddle run until the sorbet reaches the desired consistency. Place the fast-freezing bowl into the freezer until ready to serve.

Raspberry Frozen Yoghurt
Ingredients
100g fresh raspberries
100 ml natural yoghurt
35 g icing sugar
Method
Mash the raspberries until smooth. Mix in the icing sugar and natural yoghurt. Pour the mixture into the fast-freezing bowl. Turn on the Ice  Cream Maker and secure the lid. Let the paddle run until the frozen yoghurt reaches the desired consistency. Place the fast-freezing bowl into the freezer until ready to serve.

STEP 1: Wipe the samosa maker housing with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
STEP 2: Remove baked-on food by applying a small amount of warm water mixed with a mild detergent to the non-stick coated cooking plates, then wipe them clean with a paper towel. Use a nonabrasive scourer if the food is difficult to remove. Do not immerse the Samosa Maker in water or any other liquid. Never use harsh or abrasive cleaning detergents or scourers to clean the Samosa Maker or its accessories, as this could damage the surface. Note: The Samosa Maker should be cleaned after each use.

Instructions for Use

Before First Use: Clean the unit as outlined in the section entitled ‘Care and Maintenance’.

Note: When using the Samosa Maker for the first time, a slight smoke or odour may be emitted. This is normal and will soon subside. Allow for sufficient ventilation around the Samosa Maker.

Using the Samosa Maker

Before each use, carefully apply a thin coat of cooking oil to the non-stick coated cooking plates, rubbing it in with a paper towel. This will help to prolong the life of the non-stick coating and prevent samosas from sticking.
STEP 1: Position the Samosa Maker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.
STEP 2: Plug in and switch on the Samosa Maker at the mains power supply. The green power indicator light will illuminate.
STEP 3: Preheat the Samosa Maker for approx. 3 minutes until the red ready indicator light illuminates.
STEP 4: Open the Samosa Maker with the cool-touch handle. Place a layer of pastry or dough on the bottom plate taking care to press it into the wells.
STEP 5: Add samosa fillings into each of the wells, taking care not to overfill. The filling should be pre-cooked.
STEP 6: Position the top layer of pastry or dough over the fillings.
STEP 7: Close the lid of the samosa maker with the cool-touch handle. Let the samosas cook for approx. 7-1 0 minutes.
STEP 8: Use heat-resistant oven gloves to carefully open the lid and check if the samosas are cooked. If not, close the lid and continue to cook for a further 2-3 minutes.
STEP 9: Once cooking is complete, switch off and unplug the Samosa Maker from the mains power supply.
STEP 10: Using a heat-resistant plastic or wooden spoon, carefully remove the samosas from the Samosa Maker. This will prevent damage to the non-stick coated cooking plates. STEP 11: Leave the lid open and allow the Samosa Maker to cool.

Note: Always preheat the non-stick coated cooking plates before starting to cook. During use, the red ready indicator will cycle on and off to signal that the Samosa Maker is maintaining the optimum temperature.
Caution: Exercise caution during cooking; the Samosa Maker will emit steam.
Warning: The Samosa Maker and cooking plates get very hot during use; always use oven-resistant gloves to avoid injury.

Storage

Check that the Samosa Maker is cool, clean and dry before storing in a cool, dry place. Never wrap the cord tightly around the Samosa Maker; wrap it loosely to avoid causing damage.

Boil-dry Sensor

If the kettle is accidentally turned on whilst empty, the boil-dry sensor will activate causing the power to switch off. Do not try to use the kettle during this time; once it hos cooled down, it will resume its normal function.

Care and Maintenance

Before attempting any cleaning or maintenance, unplug the kettle from the mains power supply and allow it to cool fully.
Wipe the kettle and power base with a soft, damp cloth then allow it to dry thoroughly.
Do not immerse the kettle in water or any other liquid.
Never use harsh or abrasive cleaning detergents or scourers to clean the kettle as this could cause damage.
If there is any solid residue on the inside of the kettle, carefully remove this with a damp cloth or brush.

Removing Limescale

If the kettle switches off before it has boiled or a white deposit is noticed on the inside of the kettle, it needs to be descaled.
Add a commercial descaling agent to the kettle, adhering to the manufacturer’s instructions. It is not recommended to use vinegar to descale the kettle.

Instructions for Use

Before First Use

Before using the kettle for the first time, wipe it clean with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
Do not immerse the kettle in water or any other liquid.
Fill the kettle to the max. fill mark and boil the water, following the instructions in the section entitled ‘Using the Chevron Jug Kettle’. After the water has boiled, pour it away. If any slight taste or odour remains in the boiled water, repeat this process.

Note: When using the kettle for the first time, a slight odour may be emitted. This is normal and will soon subside. Allow for sufficient ventilation around the kettle.
Warning: The kettle or any accessories are not suitable for dishwasher use.
Using the Chevron Jug Kettle

STEP 1: Position the power base onto a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface at a height that is comfortable for the user.
STEP 2: Press the lid release button to open the flip-top lid and fill the kettle to the desired water level. The water level must be between the min. fill mark and the max. fill  mark on the water gouge.
STEP 3: Close the flip-top lid until it clicks securely shut and place the kettle back onto the power base.
STEP 4: Plug in and switch on the kettle at the mains power supply, then push the power switch to the ‘on’ position until it clicks. The power switch will automatically flip back into the ‘off’ position when the kettle has boiled.
STEP 5: Once the water has stopped boiling vigorously, lift the kettle by the handle and pour out the desired amount of water. Do not pour the water too quickly as this may cause it to trickle down the side of the kettle.

Caution: Allow the kettle to cool thoroughly before touching or opening the flip-top lid.
Do not use the kettle if the power base or any of the electrical connectors are wet. Do not attempt to dry these whilst the kettle is plugged in.
If the power switch will not stay clicked in the ‘on’ position, do not force it to stay down. This may cause excess steam to escape from the flip-top lid, damage to the automatic shut-off mechanism or injury to the user.
The body and flip-top lid of the kettle get very hot during use. Do not touch any part of the kettle except the handle whilst it is in use or filled with hot water.
To avoid spilling water or user injury, wait for vigorous boiling to subside before lifting the kettle or pouring water.
Warning: The flip-top lid may spra1y water if flipped open after boiling – allow the kettle to cool before opening the flip-top lid.

Storage

The kettle must be cool, dean and dry before storing in a cool, dry place.
Never wrap the cord tightly around the kettle; wrap it loosely to avoid causing damage.

Note: When using toaster for the first time, a slight smoke or Odour may be emitted. This is normal and will soon subside. Allow for sufficient ventilation around the toaster.

Using the 2-slice Toaster

STEP 1: Place the toaster onto a flat, stable surface at a height that is comfortable for the user. Make sure that the crumb tray is pushed fully into the toaster and that the loading lever is in the upright position, with no bread or other objects inserted into the toasting slots.
STEP 2: Plug in and switch on the toaster at the mains power supply. Then turn the browning control dial to the desired setting. Select 3-4 for medium brown toast.
