WELCOME.

You just bought a NIXON watch. How about that. Welcome to the NIXON side, a side that’s about a custom-built product, quality, and durability.
We’re stoked you selected one of our watches. The fact that you bought a NIXON means you can probably tell time, but you may not be familiar with all the doodads and features of our watches. So if you’re stuck, read through these instructions. Or get your friends to read them and then they can tell you what’s up.
NEVER PUSH A BUTTON OR SET THE WATCH WHEN IT IS SUBMERGED.

FEATURES

Custom digital module with high-resolution MLCD with front light. Functions include an altimeter, barometer, compass, thermometer, clamp mode with weather alert, session mode with the run tracker, dual time zones in 12 or 24 hour format, date, chronograph, and dual alarms.
Press PUSHER B to access the menu. Use PUSHERS C and D to scroll up and down the list of modes and settings, and PUSHER B to select. After 10 seconds of inactivity in any menu or setting screen, the watch will return to the previous screen automatically. In any mode, press PUSHER A to activate the light.1 – TIME MODE

-Scroll to the bottom of each page to exit or go back, or wait for 10 seconds in each screen to be kicked out of SETTINGS and then out of the MENU

2 – NAVIGATE SESSION MODE
NAVIGATE SESSION MODE records elevation over time and displays it in a graph, records runs, shows your direction, and the time of day or elapsed time of your run.
Upon entering NAVIGATE SESSION MODE, the user can review the previous session data or start a new session.
Starting a new session prompts the user to set the current altitude (if known).
-Session will begin tracking when a run is started, by pressing PUSHER D
-Press PUSHER D again to stop a run-activity between runs is represented by the inverse color on the graph (time going up a chair lift, hiking up a hill, etc)
-PUSHER D will start a new run, and record up to 10 per session
-At any time during a session, press PUSHER B (MENU) to bring up options to review the current session, review individual runs, return, or exit (end) the session
-Session or Run Review will display total time, start and end altitude, high and low altitude, rate (incline and decline), and total gain and descent from that run or session, as well as personal best in each category
-Personal records will be maintained, but previous session data will be cleared upon starting a new session.
3 – ALTITUDE MODE
ALTITUDE MODE features current altitude and current time
NOTE: Altimeter is pressure-based, so fluctuations in weather patterns, as well as air travel or other natural or unnatural changes in pressure, can alter the reading. Upon entering ALTITUDE MODE, the user is asked to enter the current altitude if known. Do this using PUSHER C to increase and PUSHER D to decrease the altitude shown on screen. Press PUSHER B to confirm. To maintain accuracy, it’s best to do this whenever possible.
4 – COMPASS MODE
COMPASS MODE displays the current heading (the direction that ‘12 o’clock’ or the top of the watch screen is facing), and the direction of North at the time, along with the time of day. Users can also set a custom bearing.
To set a custom bearing:
-Press PUSHER C to unlock, turn the watch until the desired direction is displayed, then press PUSHER D to lock
-The bearing location will be displayed at the bottom right and can be toggled on and off with PUSHER D
NOTE: over time, exposure or proximity to magnetic fields or other electronic devices can throw off the accuracy of the compass. The compass can be recalibrated in SETTINGS. Additionally, the magnetic declination can also be set if known.5 – CAMP MODE
CAMP MODE features current temperature, time, barometric pressure and pressure trend, chronograph, and weather alerts.
-Press PUSHER C to toggle the chronograph on /off
-Press PUSHER D to start/stop the Chrono
-While stopped, press and hold PUSHER D to reset the chronograph
NOTE: Pressure trend is displayed with an arrow next to the current pressure, if applicable. A dramatic shift in pressure indicates a potential weather event and will trigger the weather alert. This can be falsely triggered if the watch is left in CAMP MODE while changing altitudes. Weather alerts only happen while in CAMP MODE.
6 – CHRONOGRAPH MODE
CHRONO MODE features a timer with 1/100th second resolution and split function. To use the CHRONOGRAPH:
-Press PUSHER C to start or stop the chronograph -While running, press PUSHER D to split (freeze the timer to see the time of an event)
-Press PUSHER D again to return to the total elapsed time
-While stopped, press and hold PUSHER C to reset
7 – SETTINGS / OTHER NOTES
In SETTINGS you can set the time and date, select user preferences including units of measure and battery saving options, calibrate the compass, and set the alarms.
INTERVAL: This dictates how frequently the watch accesses the sensor data. Shorter intervals require more battery power.
POWER SAVING MODE: When ON, the watch will turn the display off after one hour of no motion to save battery. Moving the watch or pressing any button will wake up the watch without losing any data or saved preferences.
NOTE 1: A pressure-based altimeter is intended only for recreational use, and should not be used for critical navigation or in life or death situations.
NOTE 2: When the battery has less than 10% capacity left, a battery icon will appear on the screen. When the battery is below 2%, the battery icon will blink.
NOTE 3: Press PUSHERS A & C simultaneously to silence or resume the alarms. This does not turn the alarms off, just silences them.

*RINSE WATCH WITH SOAP AND WATER AFTER EXPOSURE TO SALTWATER OR SAND.
Replace the battery at least every two years. Dead or low batteries left in a watch may leak and destroy the movement of your watch. If you have a water-resistant watch, know that the water resistance is attained using rubber or plastic seals which will deteriorate under normal conditions and reduce the water-resistance of your watch. These seals should be checked by an authorized jeweler at least every two years to ensure the rated water resistance. Do not expose your watch to extreme temperatures (over 60ºC or 140ºF, under -10ºC or 14ºF). No hot tubs or saunas. Sorry, but do you really need to know the time when you’re rubbing? Avoid extreme shocks.

WARRANTY INFO
Nixon offers a limited warranty of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two (2) years after original purchase from an authorized Nixon dealer. This means that if the materials in your watch aren’t right or if the watch isn’t put together correctly, we’ll repair or replace it, at our option. But, this doesn’t mean you can abuse your watch and expect us to fix it for free. We don’t cover normal wear and tear or batteries, crystal, watch case, strap, bracelet, loss or theft. You will void your warranty if you open your case back, push the buttons underwater, or forget to screw down or push in the crown and expose your watch to moisture. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims and service requests, so hold onto your receipt. Nixon will not accept a warranty claim or repair request if a watch has evidence of excessive wear or misuse.
