- MOUNTING THE NUKI SMART LOCK
Mount the Smart Lock on the door by following the enclosed manual and set it up with the Nuki app. Do the same with the Bridge afterwards*. - CONFIGURE SETTINGS AND ACTIVATE NUKI WEB
Now you have to set a PIN with the Nuki app in the administration of the Smart Lock and disable the Bluetooth pairing in order to prevent the pairing with other smartphones. Then activate Nuki Web.
- CONNECT AIRBNB WITH NUKI WEB
Go to https://web.nuki.io/#/pages/short-rental on your computer and log in with your Nuki Web account. Click “New” and “Connect” for Airbnb.
* Should you use a Nuki Bridge for remote access. If you use the Nuki Smart Lock 3.0 Pro, connect it to your local Wi-Fi network. - CONNECT SMART LOCK TO LISTING
Now you have to select your listing in the left column on the following page and assign the respective Nuki Smart Lock to it and click “Save”. Depending on which Nuki devices are assigned to your vacation property (listing), your guests will receive corresponding notifications. You can decide how (via the Airbnb app and email, email only or via the Airbnb app only) your guests get access to the booked accommodation and by which devices (Keypad and or Nuki app).
- SETTINGS & COMMUNICATION WITH YOUR GUEST
In addition to the assignment of the Nuki devices with the listing and the notification selection, you can also configure many other settings to support you with the digital key handovers. From now on, 72 hours before your guest’s arrival, an email or message will be sent automatically via the in-app messaging function in the Airbnb app with invitation codes for all guests. A copy of the invitation email will also be sent to your Nuki Web mail address for confirmation. Guests can add the Smart Lock to the app with these codes after installing the Nuki app and unlock and lock on site via Bluetooth as often as they like for the duration of the booking. Alternatively, your guests can open the door by entering a 6-digit code on the Keypad. In this case, your guests don’t even need to install the Nuki app. Remote access via the Bridge is not possible for guests for security reasons. On check-in day, the access permission is valid from the earliest check-in time stated in the listing (for flexible bookings 12 AM), on check-out day until the check-out time. After the booking expires, permissions are automatically deleted and guests are sent a farewell email with a link to delete the Smart Lock from the app.
- IN THE EVENT OF PROBLEMS
If there are any problems with the automatic sending of welcome or farewell emails, the respective actions can also be triggered manually on Nuki Web > Short-Term-Rental by choosing a booking and clicking the “Activate now” or “Deactivate now” button.

NUKI SMART LOCK
CHANGE PIN
Nuki app: Settings > Manage Smart Lock > Change PIN
Set your personal PIN to prevent others from making changes to your Smart Lock settings. The PIN serves as a safety measure, so nobody else can change your settings, invite users or look at the activity log. You can change the PIN whenever necessary.
OPTIMIZE LOCKING
Nuki app: Settings > Manage Smart Lock > Optimize locking
With this function you can shorten the unnecessary locking distance of your Smart Lock. The optimisation process of locking saves you not only time but also the battery life of your Smart Lock at the same time.
BLUETOOTH PAIRING
Nuki app: Settings > Manage Smart Lock > Bluetooth Pairing
To prevent guests from pairing your Nuki Smart Lock with other smartphones, deactivate the “Bluetooth Pairing” option.
LED BRIGHTNESS
Nuki app: Settings > Manage Smart Lock > Brightness (LED)
Change the brightness of the LED signal on the Smart Lock by sliding the bar to the left or right. If you reduce the brightness of the Smart Lock (by moving the bar to the left), you can conserve the battery.
NUKI POWER PACK & BATTERIES
So you don’t have to dispose of the batteries of your Nuki Smart Lock every time, we recommend our Nuki Power Pack or the Panasonic eneloop pro. In the long run, both options are good for the environment and your wallet.
NUKI BRIDGE
POWER SUPPLY
To get the most out of your Nuki Bridge – such as remote access – please make sure that the Nuki Bridge is permanently powered. If the Nuki Bridge is removed from the socket, it automatically reconnects to the Smart Lock. There is no need to pair the devices again.
INVITATION OF GUESTS
The Bridge makes it easy for you to invite guests from afar. Please note: If there is no Bridge available, new invitations cannot be sent to your guests, because all permissions need to be written onto your Smart Lock using the Bridge.
AIRBNB COMFORT CHECK-IN
To deactivate the Airbnb Comfort Check-in with Nuki, log in to your Nuki Web account with your personal access data. On Nuki Web > Short-Term rental, you can delete the Smart Lock which is associated with your property. This action stops any automatism, such as automatically sending invitation emails to your guests.
Alternatively, you can disable the Nuki app on the Airbnb website. Open the following link https://www.airbnb.com/users/apps or click your Profile picture > Account > Privacy & Sharing.
