Do Not Modify or Alter the Zenmuse X5S The ZENMUSETM X5S has been calibrated specifically for its camera and lens before leaving the factory. No physical or mechanical modification or adjustment of the gimbal is required or recommended. The Zenmuse X5S is delicate. Do not disassemble the gimbal or camera as this will cause permanent damage. Be sure to use a DJI approved battery, otherwise performance may be hindered and internal malfunctions or damage may occur.
Only Use Compatible Aircraft
The Zenmuse X5S is compatible with the INSPIRETM 2. It will also be compatible with designated future products. Visit the official DJI website for more information.
Safe Use
Make sure to operate your aircraft in the safest manner possible. Observe the procedures contained in the user manual and the online tutorials to mount and connect the gimbal to your aircraft. Use the aircraft in accordance with the safety guidelines and local regulations. Zenmuse X5S
The Zenmuse X5S supports 5.2K 30fps video recording in CinemaDNG format and up to 20.80MP still photo capture. It has a camera system with an M4/3 interchangeable lens. As with other DJI 3-axis gimbal systems, the Zenmuse X5S can be mounted onto a DJI aircraft and can stream live HD video wirelessly to the DJI GOTM 4 app.

* The Zenmuse X5S Lens Kit includes the original lens, balancing ring, lens cap, rear lens cap, and lens hood. Accessories for other supported lenses can be purchased separately.
Installing the Camera Lens
The following steps use the DJI MFT 15mm f/1.7-16 ASPH to demonstrate mounting a camera lens to the camera body.
- Remove the camera body cap.
- While holding down the Lens Release Button, rotate the Lens lock clockwise to unlock it.
- Remove the lens cap and rear cap.
- Align the two Lens Mount Indexes on the camera body and camera lens, and insert the camera lens into the body of the camera.
- Rotate the camera lens clockwise until you hear a click.
- Rotate the Lens Lock counterclockwise to lock it.
- Mount the Balancing Ring (or a filter) and the Lens Hood.
Removing the Camera Lens
To remove the camera lens:
- While holding down the Lens Release Button, rotate the Lens Lock clockwise to unlock it.
- While still holding down the Lens Release Button, rotate the camera lens counterclockwise to detach it.
Attach the camera body cap to the Lens Mount, and the lens cap and rear cap to the lens for protection after removing the camera lens.
Mounting the Zenmuse X5S to the Inspire 2
- Remove the Gimbal Cap from the Zenmuse X5S.
- Press the gimbal and camera release button on the Inspire 2. Rotate to remove the Gimbal Cap from the Inspire 2.
- Align the white dot on the gimbal to the red dot on Inspire 2 and insert the gimbal.
- Rotate the Gimbal Lock to the locked position by aligning the red dots.
• Always ensure that the DJI Gimbal Connector 2.0 on the Inspire 2 is in the right position when mounting, otherwise the camera will not mount.
• Remove the lens cap when the Zenmuse X5S is in use.
• Always power off the aircraft before removing the gimbal camera.
Camera Controls
Remote Controller
Press the Shutter Button to capture photos or the Record Button to record videos. Adjust the camera’s tilt using the left dial. Turn the right dial to adjust camera settings.

The touch interface can be used for capturing photos, recording videos and playback. Professional photography configurations are also available.
