About the Atomic Clock

The National Institute of Standard and Technology (NIST) in Fort Collins, Colorado broadcasts the time signal (WWVB at 60kHz AM radio signal) with an accuracy of 1 second per every 3,000 years. ‘The signal will able to cover over a distance up to 2,000 miles from the source. Like a typical A.M radio, your Atomic will not able to receive the WWVB signal in places surrounded by heavy concrete or metal panels. The reception of the time signal is also greatly affected by electrical or electronic interference. To get the best performance of the Atomic clock, please install the clock nearer to a window and change directions if one direction does not work. Refer to the ”reception” section of the instructions to ensure the correct installation and the best reception.

Battery Installation and Set Up

After power up, the display vill show all segments for 3 seconds; then display 12:00pm Jan 1, 2000(default-hidden) together vith room temperature and flashing time zone. The Time Zone is defaulted at PST····· Pacific Standard Time.
***The time zone will flash for 30 seconds allowing for the selection of the preferred time zone.

  1. Select the conect Time Zone by pressing the TIME ZONEo button on back of the clock to select Pacific Time (P ) Mountaino Time (M), Central Time (C ), Eastern Time (E)
    ***The Time, Day/Cate stamp will set automatically once signal is caught.
  2. Once a Time Zone is selected, your Atomic Clock will start to search for the atomic signal
  3. While the Atomic Clock is seeking for the signal, the icon will pulsate gradually indicating the search mode.
  4. If valid signal is available, the Atomic clock will decode the Local Time in about 3-5 minutes. The FULL tower icon and “OK” will appear on the display.
  5. If the first reception is not successful, the clock will attempt EVERY hour until the time is decoded.
  6. If signal is not available wben setting up, enter the present time and date by following the manual setup”.

Manual setup

A. Select the correct time, day/date:

  1. Press and hold “set” button for three seconds to begin manual setup mode indicated by flashing year (default 2000).
  2. Adjust year by pressing the + or –
  3. Press “set” again to confirm.
  4. Adjust flashing month using the+ or – and confirm by pressing the set button.
  5. Adjust flashing date in like manner and confirm.
  6. Select 12/24 hour (regular/military) in like manner and confirm.
  7. Adjust the correct hour in like manner and confirm.
  8. Adj ust the correct minute in like manner and confirm.

B. Selecting DST (Daylight Savings Time):

  1. Hold TEvfE ZONE burton for 3 seconds rn enter Daylight Saving Time setting inode. ”DST ON” ( defauir seningj wiii appear on tbc screen in the “second’s” position of time display
  2. Press anci release TEvfE ZONE button to select between DST on (Daylight Saving Time on) to DST off (Daylight Saving Time off).

The setting will be saved automatically after 5 seconds.
***Leave the setting to ON if you want to observe the Daylight Saving Time in summer. In parts of Arizona and Indiana where Daylight Saving Time is not applicable, set to DST off
(DST icon will appear on display when DST is received)

Name and Function of Buttons

  1. SET
    Hold SET button 3 sec to enter clock & calendar setting. Set sequence:
    Year > Month > Date > 12/24 > Hr > Min
    Press +, – to adjust, then press SET to confirm
  2. TIME ZONE
    Press to select the current Time Zone:
    P = Pacific Time
    M = JVlountain Time
    C = Central Time
    E = Eastern Time
    Hold TIME ZONE button for 3 seconds to enter into Daylight Saving Time stup mode.
  3. (+) SYNC
    Durjng CLOCK: setting, press(+) button for I step advance, hold(+) for 10 step/sec fast advance.
    At normal mode, HOLD 3 seconds to get a Manual Synchronization of ‘- Atomic time signal
  4. ( – ) C/F
    During CLOCK setrings, press ( – ) for 1 step backward, hold for 10 step/sec fast backward At nornmal mode, HOLD – key 3 seconds to select °C and °F
