To set your DVR remotely, you need a computer with an Internet connection, a directv.com account, and a DVR or an HD DVR (Model R15 or later; Model HR20 or later; or a TiVo Series 2 receiver with 6.4a software). To check what receiver you have, sign in to your DIRECTV account and select My Equipment from the My Account dropdown menu. Follow these steps to set a DIRECTV DVR from a computer remotely:
- Sign in to your account.
- Click Watch DIRECTV.
- Use the Program Guide or search function to find the show you wish to record.
- When you find a show, simply click Record.
