REVERSE POLARITY ALARM
When battery clamps are connected in reverse polarity, an audible alarm (continuous beep) will sound and the LCD screen will display the Reverse Polarity Indicator icon (please see Instruction Manual for details).
DO NOT activate the unit. If this happens carefully disconnect the clamps and re-connect with the proper polarity. Ensure that the grounded clamp has a firm and clean connection.
BATTERY CHARGE
Once clamps are correctly connected, press to start charging.
NOTE: This unit is a high-frequency smart charger. It will need to sense baseline voltage in your battery in order to engage in charging mode. If it does not sense sufficient voltage, it will enter reconditioning mode.
ENGINE START
This unit is equipped with an Engine Start function that delivers concentrated, high amperage charging for a 40-second period to start your vehicle. This is NOT a jump-starting function. After engaging the unit will display a timer. Once the timer has elapsed, you may try to start your vehicle.
ALTERNATOR CHECK
Press to engage the alternator check process, which is designed to determine the functionality of your vehicle’s internal electrical system. Please consult Instruction Manual for full details on how to complete this process.
BATTERY RECONDITION
Press to engage a 24-hour battery reconditioning cycle. This cycle will subject your battery to intermittent high-frequency pulses in order to reduce the effects of corrosion and recondition your battery. This is NOT guaranteed to ensure charging. If your battery does not charge after one reconditioning cycle, discontinue charging.

FAQ’S
How long does it take to charge a battery?
It depends on the condition of the battery. A fully discharged battery may take up to 8 hours to fully charge. A partially discharged battery may take less time to charge.
How do I know when the battery is fully charged?
Once the charging cycle is complete, the unit will automatically switch to the maintenance mode. The LCD screen will display “Maintaining”. The unit will continue to maintain the battery at its current state of charge until you disconnect it from the clamps.
How long can I leave my battery connected?
You can leave your battery connected indefinitely while in the maintenance mode. However, if you are planning on storing your vehicle for an extended period of time, we recommend that you disconnect your battery and store it in a cool dry place.
Can I use this charger on my motorcycle or lawn mower batteries?
Yes, this charger will work with all 12 volt batteries including motorcycle and lawn mower batteries.
Will this charger work with gel cell or AGM batteries?
Yes, this charger is compatible with all types of lead-acid batteries including gel cell and AGM batteries. However, please note that this charger is not intended for use on Lithium-ion or LiFePO4 batteries.
Will this charger work with a deep cycle marine (boat) battery?
No, this charger is not intended for use on deep cycle marine or trolling motor batteries. We recommend using our BC30D charger for these applications.
What is the difference between a smart charger and an automatic charger?
Automatic chargers are designed to maintain a constant voltage level in your battery once it has reached a full charge state. Smart chargers like this one are designed to sense when your battery has reached a full charge state and then switch into a maintenance mode where they will maintain that charge level until you disconnect the clamps from your battery. This means that if you leave your smart charger connected to your battery after it has reached full charge, it will continue to maintain that charge level until you disconnect it from your vehicle’s electrical system. This is why we recommend that you only connect your smart charger during times when you need to jump-start or recharge your vehicle’s battery and then disconnect it as soon as possible after those tasks have been completed. This will help prolong the life of your smart charger by reducing unnecessary strain on its internal components which could shorten its overall lifespan over time if left connected for extended periods of time without being used for its intended purpose (i.e., jump-starting or recharging).
How long does it take to recondition a battery on a EverStart Maxx?
24-hour
BATTERY RECONDITION
Press to engage a 24-hour battery reconditioning cycle. This cycle will subject your battery to intermittent high-frequency pulses in order to reduce the effects of corrosion and recondition your battery. This is NOT guaranteed to ensure charging.
How long does it take to charge a car battery?
about 10-24 hours
Charging a regular car battery with a typical charge amp of around 4-8 amperes will take about 10-24 hours to charge it fully. To boost your battery enough to be able to start the engine, it would take around 2-4 hours. The best way to maintain a long life for your car battery is by recharging it slowly.
Can a completely dead battery be recharged?
Simply put, no car battery, whether healthy or dead, can charge itself. It always requires an external power source to get charged. Can Dead Batteries be Charged? Once a car battery is dead, the alternator will fail to recharge it completely.
Can a battery be too dead to jump?
This article helped you answer the question, “Can a car battery be too dead to jump start?” No. You can jump start it with ease regardless of a dead automobile battery. To jump start your vehicle, you need to find another vehicle that gets a fully charged battery and use the jumper cables for a two-car connection.
Why is the light on my battery charger blinking?
The CHARGE light may flash for the following reasons: The environmental temperature is too cold to charge the battery pack. The battery pack has not been used for a long time. There is a poor connection between the battery and charger.
