Charging your controller

The NACON GC-200WL wireless controller is equipped with an internal 700mAh battery. To charge this battery use the supplied Micro-USB cable and connect it to the socket on the top of the GC-200WL. Then plug it into one of your free USB ports on your PC. The 4 LEDs will light up to indicate that the charging process has started and will also show the charging level of the battery.

Remark: Please note that the controller can’t be used during the charging process.

First-time connection with the PC

The NACON GC-200WL is a so-called Plug´n´Play device. This means that the necessary driver software should be installed automatically if you connect it to your computer for the first time. Here are the steps in detail:

  • Make sure your that the battery of your GC-200WL controller is sufficiently charged.
  • Turn on your computer, wait for it to boot and log in to your Windows® desktop.
  • Look for an unused USB slot on your PC and plug in the USB dongle of your NACON GC-200WL controller.
  • Windows® will detect the new device and after a few seconds it will start the installation process for the appropriate drivers. This is shown by a small icon in the taskbar.

  • The installation might take a while depending on the speed of your system. Once the installation is complete, you will be presented with the according message. You can now use your GC-200WL.
  • On your GC200WL, you can press the Home button for 6 seconds to turn on the controller and let it connect to the dongle.

Dongle compartment

When not in use, the dongle of your NACON GC-200WL wireless controller can be stored in the socket on the bottom of the controller to prevent it from loss.

Remark: The dongle compartment is for storage only and does not have any electronic function.

D/X switch

There are different ways for modern computer games to communicate with your controller and vice versa. Your GC-200WL supports the two most commonly used ones: Direct Input 8 and X-Input.

Sometimes a game only supports one of these two protocols. Since both can´t be run simultaneously, your GC-200WL features the D/X switch (10) to select one of these two protocols, to make sure it works with all games.

Remark: After changing the protocol, the controller needs some short time to switch.
