Inflating any RAVE Aqua Attachment

We highly recommend using the RAVE High Speed Inflator/Deflator. It will provide rapid inflation/deflation and will achieve optimum air pressure in your RAVE product. (Part #01083 not included).

To lock open valve, depress the stem and rotate ¼ turn clockwise. To close valve, depress the stem and rotate ¼ turn counterclockwise.
The valve stem should be in the depressed position while inflating. Replace cap on valve after inflation to ensure air tight seal.

If you are using the RAVE Sports High Speed Inflator (Part #01083), simply lock the adaptor onto the end of the inflation hose and insert into the valve body. Turn ¼ turn to lock in place.

NOTE: This inflation adaptor will automatically open the valve when inserted and will close the valve when removed. You do not need to manually open/close the valve when using this special adaptor.

IMPORTANT: A PROPERLY INFLATED TUBE WILL FEEL LIKE A FIRMLY INFLATED BASKETBALL.

To Deflate:
Rapid deflation can be achieved using the “deflate” side of the motor housing. Attach the hose to the deflate side of the motor housing and lock the valve adaptor into the valve. Turn on deflator and let run until all air is evacuated from the tube.

C A U T I O N
DO NOT USE AN AIR COMPRESSOR TO INFLATE THIS PRODUCT. USE OF AN AIR COMPRESSOR MAY CAUSE OVER-INFLATION, WHICH CAN DAMAGE OR RUPTURE SEAMS, THUS VOIDING THE WARRANTY.

IMPORTANT:
It is normal for the air pressure within air filled tubes to fluctuate depending on air and water temperatures. It may be necessary to increase or decrease the air pressure in your product accordingly. To avoid damage on extremely hot days it may be necessary to check and release the air pressure from your product throughout the day.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1- Inflation Lay the inflatable base tube on a flat surface. Make sure there are no sharp objects under the product that might puncture the material.

Step 2- Once inflated, carry it to the water, base tube to the water’s edge. DO NOT DRAG. After in the water, add air if necessary. Then float it out to the trampoline and position it right.

Step 3- Attaching separate straps to the trampoline

3.1-2: Take the separate straps included with Walk the Plank and determine the preferred location on the tube. Then make sure buckles are facing the correct direction before feeding it through the triangle ring. IMPORTANT: Straps will need to be 36” apart.

3.3-4: Feed both straps into the triangle ring and pull the short end upward and the long strap downward. (Do this for both sides)

3.5: Wrap the extra-long strap around tube and back up to the buckle.
Then cinch down taut the long strap and make one knot with excess.

Place Walk the Plank on top of the tube, so it is centered between the straps already installed. Strap it down before securing side straps.

Step 4- Attach side straps

4.1: Feed the short strap from step 3 upward through the buckle on the side of Walk the Plank tube.
4.2: Feed through the bottom opening slot and pull down, tightening the strap taut. This will prevent it from coming loose because of slack.
4.3: Side straps are pulled tight. This prevents side to side movement of the product.
4.4: Make sure the side straps are cinched tight. Take the free end of each strap and tie a known adjacent to the buckle to prevent slippage.

To attach to Classic Aqua Jump™ (with steel frame), see p. 10
To attach to Aqua Jump™ Eclipse (without steel frame), see p. 11
To attach to Bongo™, see p. 13

Attaching to Aqua Jump Eclipse

Step 3
Determine the preferred location on the Aqua Jump Eclipse. Make sure the pad is oriented so the one section with slots is oriented to match the preferred Walk the Plank location on the Aqua Jump Eclipse tube.

Step 4
Starting from the inside of the tube, feed both ends of one buckle strap through the Δ-ring closest to the corner of the tube on the section you want Walk the Plank to be attached. Wrap the long strap around the outside of the inflated tube and fasten to the buckle on the inside. Pull the strap tight, ensuring the buckle is up tight to the Δ-ring.

IMPORTANT: Rotate the strap around the tube until the buckle is touching the backside of the Δ-ring as shown.

Step 5
Repeat procedure for the second strap. Properly positioned, both attachment straps for Walk the Plank will be on the same colored panel on the Aqua Jump tube Eclipse and running through the outermost triangle rings on that panel.

Step 6
Feed the short strap up through corresponding slots in the pad. Set Walk the Plank on top of the pad between the straps.

Step 7
Feed the short strap through the buckle on the side of Walk the Plank.
Loosely fasten. Repeat for other side of Walk the Plank Center Walk the Plank nicely between the straps then tighten both straps.

NOTE: Check Walk the Plank attachment straps periodically to ensure they are tightly fastened and Walk the Plank is secure and stable.
As an added safeguard to prevent movement of the straps, fold the loose end of the strap 90° to the side, wrap around the back side, down through the buckle opening and back through itself on the back side. Pull tight to lock.

Step 8
Make sure the straps are tight and the pad is adjusted to fully cover the springs and frame. Walk the Plank is now ready to use! Please read and follow all safety instructions before enjoying Walk the Plank.

Attaching to the Bongo™

Follow steps 1 and 2 for inflating Walk the Plank from page 7

Step 3
Attach the product while both the Bongo and Walk the Plank are in shallow water. Center the Walk the Plank on the desired panel location with Walk the Plank buckles directly above the lacing of the Bongo as shown.

Step 4
Using the separate straps, feed the end of the long strap down between the jump mat and the tube at the point nearest the tube corner. Bring the free end of the strap around the tube and loosely fasten in the buckle.

Step 5
Wrap the short strap under itself and through the jump mat lacing as shown. Now feed the strap through the side buckle on Walk the Plank and fasten loosely.

Repeat for other side of Walk the Plank. Center Walk the Plank between the straps then tighten all straps.

DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP! It is critically important and prevents Walk the Plank from slipping off the Bongo.

Walk the Plank Overview

Anchoring
Anchor is located under the blue base. There is a heavy duty D-ring that an anchor can be attached to. This will add more stability and balance to Walk the Plank. Recommend our Anchor connector kit with shock cord; this will absorb the bounce of someone jumping off Walk the Plank.

Using the Walk the Plank
Climb on top and Walk the Plank. Challenge your friends and try to get to the end. Feel the thrill of jumping off into the water.

Cleaning and Storage

  • When the inflatable product is not being used, store it in a covered, shaded area. This will help protect it against ultraviolet (UV) rays and extend the life of the product.
  • Clean the inflatable completely with a mild soap and fresh water.
NEVER USE PETROLEUM BASED PRODUCTS OR SOLVENTS FOR CLEANING. NEVER USE A POWER WASHER SINCE THE HIGH PRESSURE WATER JET WILL DAMAGE THE TUBE BEYOND REPAIR.
  • Product should be completely dry and remain dry while stored.
  • Ensure the protective caps are installed onto the frame posts. Roll the product loosely and place in a container, preferably one that rodents can’t chew through.
  • Disassemble entire frame and store separately from the tube.
  • Secure against unauthorized or unsupervised use.
  • Store in a cool, dry location. Do not store product directly on concrete surface. Place mothballs around stored inflatable to keep mice and insects away.

Important
Rodents like muskrats may be attracted to the PVC vinyl of your product.
When your product is on the water, maintaining full air pressure during periods of non-use will discourage them from chewing the vinyl.
Another way to ease the problem of nuisance rodents is to remove the temptation by taking the product out of the water at night. You can also make the whole area unattractive to rodents by changing the environment, making the area less hospitable for rodents. Removing any food source from the shoreline can also be a good deterrent. Check with your local DNR for additional guidance or possible restrictions.

Assembling your Spin Wheel™ Track

Inflation
Roll out and unfold the Spin Wheel on flat ground. Make sure the area is free of rocks, sticks or other sharp objects that could puncture or damage the product.

We highly recommend using the RAVE High-Speed Inflator/Deflator. It will provide rapid inflation and deflation. (Item #01083, not included)

To lock the open valve, depress the stem and rotate ¼ turn clockwise. To close the valve, depress the stem and rotate  ¼ turn counter-clockwise. The valve stem should be in the depressed position while inflating. Replace the cap on the valve after inflation to ensure an air-tight seal.

If you are using the RAVE Sports High-Speed Inflator (Item #01083), simply lock the adaptor onto the end of the inflation hose and insert into the valve body. Turn ¼ turn to lock in place.

NOTE: This inflation adaptor will automatically open the valve when inserted and will close the valve when removed. You do not need to manually open/close the valve when using this special adaptor.

USE the RAVE Air Compressor valve adaptor provided with the Spin Wheel to finish inflating Spin Wheel track to approx. 5 psi min – 8 psi Max. This will be rigid enough to support 15 users.

DO NOT INFLATE SPIN WHEEL TRACK Beyond 8PSI to avoid damage. Use PSI gauge to ensure correct air pressure.
To Deflate:
Rapid deflation can be achieved using the “deflate” side of the motor housing. Attach the hose to the deflate side of the motor housing and lock the valve adaptor into the valve.

INFLATION

SET UP AND SUPERVISION MUST BE DONE BY A MATURE AND KNOWLEDGEABLE ADULT!

You can use the following devices to inflate the Product:
Electric Inflator/Deflator (household current). RAVE recommends the High Speed Inflator/Deflator, item #01083.

CAUTION: Use extreme care when using an electric inflator anywhere near water. Beware of the dangers of electrocution when using electric powered inflators. Precautions should be observed during use and handling to prevent shock.

DO NOT inflate with an air compressor or other high pressure pump!! This unit is designed to be inflated with a high volume of air but at a low pressure. Use of an air compressor will void your warranty!

DO NOT allow children to play with the product until it is fully inflated!!

Halkey Roberts Valve:
To lock open valve, depress the stem and rotate ¼ turn clockwise. To close valve, depress the stem and rotate ¼ turn counter-clockwise. The valve stem should be in the depressed position while inflating. Replace the cap on valve after inflation to ensure air tight seal.

image 1

A special inflation adaptor is included with this product. If you are using the RAVE Sports High Speed Inflator (Item #01083), simply lock the adaptor onto the end of the inflation hose and insert into the valve body. Turn ¼ turn to lock in place.

NOTE: This inflation adaptor will automatically open the valve when inserted and will close the valve when removed. You do not need to manually open/close the valve when using this special adaptor.

If you will be using another inflation device with a larger nozzle, use the 1 ¼” diameter coupler (included) between the valve adaptor and the hose of your inflator. Make sure the hose is attached to the blower port of the vacuum for inflation. Insert the adapter into the air valve and lock into place by turning clockwise.

ANCHORING

Due to extreme varieties of conditions, anchor line and anchors are not included with the product and must be purchased separately.
Attach the anchor line (not included) securely to the Anchor Ring(s) on the bottom of the product. The number of anchor attachment points will vary per model.
Please Note: There are many ways to anchor your products. Before moving forward, it is best to consult your local regulations regarding what types of anchors can be used in your area. Every location has different conditions and demands, so you will have to determine what will work best for your situation. Here are a few anchoring tips to get you started.

  • Nylon rope holds up the best in water and sun. Lines do eventually wear out, so it’s important to check them periodically.
  • Choose a location that is most protected from the wind, of sufficient water depth and free of obstructions a safe distance in all directions.
  • A minimum of 150-200 lbs. of anchor weight per anchor point is recommended for most applications; however, larger products on larger bodies of water may require more.
  • Bell anchors are not typically recommended since they are easily dragged, especially on flat, sandy bottoms. Screw-type or more permanent toggle-type anchors may be necessary in more extreme conditions.
  • Attaching a heavy duty shock cord to the anchor line is recommended to help absorb vertical movements of the product due to waves and normal use. An Anchor Connecting System (part # 01024) is available through RAVE Sports and does include this heavy duty shock cord.
  • Adjust length of anchor line so that it is approximately 1-2 ft. longer than the depth of the water. The RAVE Sports anchor connector shock cord will provide 2-3 ft. of stretch to absorb waves and any vertical motion. NOTE: More slack in the anchor line may improve anchor holding performance, but too much slack may allow the product to flip over in strong winds. For best results, maximize your anchor holding power via more weight or a different type of anchor and minimize your anchor line length.

A forsheda (amortisator) or a bungee harness can be used to decrease the stress on the anchor rope, anchor plates and the product.

Mark line by attaching a buoy or other float to the end of your anchor line when not in use. You’ll find it easier to identify the location of your anchor.

Anchoring a stainless steel snap hook to the buoy simplifies the process of removing your product from the water for cleaning or repair. It also makes it simple to return your product to its previous location.

EZ Up Platform 7’ Iceberg
Line up the EZ Up to the product by placing both units against each other and lining up the loops on each side. Unit must be on level ground to attach. It may be easier to attach to the unit before inflating.
Thread the tube through the loops. Then thread the included string through the PVC tube and caps. Attach tube caps and tie the string on either end of the tube cap leaving approximately 3” to 4” of excess on both sides. Cut off any remaining excess.

DEFLATION

PRIOR TO DEFLATION, REMOVE ALL CHILDREN FROM THE UNIT!

Use one of the Inflator/Deflator devices recommended in the “Inflation” Section for faster deflation.

Halkey Roberts Valve- Unscrew the cap by twisting counterclockwise to expose the air valve stem. Open the air valve by pushing in the stem and rotating clockwise. Allow air to escape. Pushing on the stem and rotating counterclockwise will seal the valve. Replace cap making sure it is tightened securely.

Completely Dry Unit- Wipe the product off with a terry cloth towel and allow drying completely. , Than store for next use. See Storage Section for details.

MAINTENANCE

Maintenance is essential to increase the life of your product. Please follow all maintenance and repairs according to this manual. If you are unsure please contact your local dealer, service center or RAVE Sports directly.

  • Inspect product regularly for potentially unsafe conditions, particularly after storms, and suspected misuse of product.
  • Do not use product if repair is needed!
  • Clean product regularly per the Cleaning section of manual.
  • Check storage area. Make sure it’s dry and Rodent Free.
  • Black rubber portion of Valves and Plugs should be lightly coated with a petroleum based product before storage to prevent drying and cracking.
  • When disposing of product do so in such a manner that no hazardous conditions exist at the time the product is discarded.

CLEANING

If your inflatable is used intensively, then it should be cleaned on a weekly basis. It is also important to clean and dry the product before it is packed away.
When cleaning your product never use strong detergents or silicone-based products. Also never use high pressure cleaning equipment such as a “pressure washer”. This will result in damage to your product.
Clean the outside surface only.
Clean your inflatable with mild soap and fresh water and check that the valves are clean and not damaged.
RAVE recommends the use of U.V. protectant for prolonging the life of your inflatable. To remove algae and other hazards from the ocean, you can use a special cleaning agent from your local marina. Follow the directions carefully.
All hardware (O-rings, springs, and such) should be rinsed with fresh water weekly. Although normal wear and tear is unavoidable, this will increase the life of your product.

STORAGE

When storing your inflatable, keep it in a clean and dry place that is not affected by major variations in temperatures and other damaging factors. You can store your inflatable deflated and rolled up or lightly inflated. Be careful never to stack anything on top of inflatable. It is recommended that you allow the unit to completely dry and lubricate the rubber on the valves with a petroleum based product t before storage.

Please note: rodents, such as mice, chew on fabric, including inflatable material. As a precaution you can place moth balls or fabric softener sheets around the products during storage to deter them.

REPAIRS

All of the inflatable products include a repair kit. You can easily repair minor punctures and cuts and even anchor plates or handles.
Conditions necessary for a successful repair are:

  • Relative humidity less than 65%.
  • Temperature Range between 62° – 77° F.
  • Avoid performing repairs in direct sunlight or rain.

Step 1- Locate the damaged area. The easiest way is to fully inflate the product and listen for the leak, or to spray with soapy water and look for bubbles. Mark the damaged area with a crayon or wax pencil and deflate the product.

Step 2- Cut out a patch approximately 2 inches larger than the leak. Clean the damaged part of the product and patch and allow drying thoroughly.

TIP:  It is a good idea to always use a circle or rectangle patch with rounded corners. Pointed corners tend to pull off.

Step 3- Next clean the area and the patch with alcohol, grease remover, or fingernail polish remover and allow drying thoroughly.

Step 4- Apply glue in a very thin layer to the patch and then to the area of the leak. Let the glue stand until tacky, usually 30 seconds – 1 minute.

TIP: Place glue on the dull side of the patch and to the shinny side of the unit. Then when you apply the patch it will match.
TIP: Use a short brush (just cut the length off) as this digs into the material better to spread the glue. Also try to use a brush with real hair instead of synthetic.

Step 5- Place the patch over the leak

Step 6- Press out the air pockets which may have formed under the patch. You can use any round object, such as a spoon, starting in the center and then working outwards toward the edges. You can keep the repair “tight” by clamping together with spring pliers.

Step 7- Allow repair to cure for 24 hours before re-inflating.

Step 8-  Inflate the repaired product.

TIP:  It is a good idea to check again for leaks. If you have multiple leaks, the air will rush out of a larger hole before a smaller one.

CAUTION: When using glue, remove unused glue from threads of tube and cap and carefully replace the cap on the tube. If properly sealed it will keep perfectly.

  • Do not leave the tube in the sun or next to heat sources or direct flames.
  • Check that the room is properly ventilated, avoid inhaling or ingesting the glue and avoid contact with skin.
  • For major repairs, take your product to your local dealer or manufacturer.

Inflating Your Bongo

Step 1
Lay the Bongo on a flat surface. Make sure there are no sharp objects under the product that might puncture the tube.
Step 2
Locate the valve of the Bongo and unscrew the cap. We recommend using the High-Speed Inflator/Deflator from RAVE Sports to inflate and deflate. (Part #01083)
To lock the open valve, depress the stem and rotate ¼ turn clockwise. To close the valve, depress the stem and rotate ¼ turn counter-clockwise. The valve stem should be in the depressed position while inflating. Replace the cap on valve after inflation to ensure an air-tight seal.

A special inflation adaptor is included with this product. If you are using the RAVE Sports High Speed Inflator, simply lock the adaptor onto the end of the inflation hose and insert into the valve body. Turn ¼ turn to lock in place.

NOTE: This inflation adaptor will automatically open the valve when inserted and will close the valve when removed. You do not need to manually open/close the valve when using this special adaptor.
If you will be using another inflation device with a larger nozzle, use the 1 ¼” diameter coupler (included) between the valve adaptor and the output hose of your inflator. Make sure the hose is attached to the blower port of the vacuum for inflation. Insert the adapter into the air valve and lock it into place by turning clockwise.

Inflate until the tube is firm and resistant to pressure. Your fist should create only a slight depression when pushed against the tube and the surface should be stretched taut in all directions. Replace cap to ensure an air-tight seal. To check the exact pressure of your product the use of a RAVE Digital Pressure Gauge (Item #02496), not included is recommended.

NOTE: It is normal for the air pressure within the tube to fluctuate depending on air and water temperatures. It may be necessary to increase or decrease the air pressure in your product accordingly. To avoid damage on extremely hot days it may be necessary to check and release the air pressure from your product throughout the day.

CAUTION
DO NOT OVER-INFLATE.
Do not exceed 2.5 PSI (0,17 bar) if filling with compressed air. Excessive pressure can cause the tube to rupture with potentially damaging force to the eyes, ears, skin, and limbs.  Use of an air compressor or over-inflation can rupture the tube beyond repair, thus voiding the warranty.

Attaching the Ladder

Step 1
The ladder consists of two pieces: a ladder with straps and a molded plastic ladder stabilizer.

Orient the stabilizer on the notched side of the top two ladder steps and the curved portion is facing upwards towards the top of the ladder. While maintaining this orientation, flip the ladder upside down to expose the underside of the steps.

Step 2
Line up the large opening of the keyhole slots with the four bolts on the underside of the top two steps.
Step 3
Slide the stabilizer towards the ladder to fully engage the bolts in the narrow end of the slots. Tap the stabilizer with your hand to ensure the bolts are fully engaged in the slots.

Note: If the stabilizer feels loose after mounting, tighten the bolts slightly leaving minimal clearance between the bolt flange and the plastic stabilizer. This slight clearance will allow the stabilizer to be easily removed by hand (without tools) for storage. To remove the stabilizer, simply slide in opposite direction.

Step 4:
Move the Bongo to shallow water. Attach the ladder in the center of the blue panel to the left of the air valve so that the warning label on the tube is visible to anyone climbing the ladder. The RAVE lettering on the ladder steps should be facing the climber.
Feed both ends of the ladder straps through the gaps on the Bongo jump surface. Pull them through far enough so that the quick link reaches the two loops on the inside of the tube.

Have someone hold the ladder in this position while another person goes under the tube to connect the ladder straps.

Feed the quick link onto the loops of the ladder connection plate & turn the nut until closed and the link is secured.  Ensure the webbing loop is lying flat across the entire width of the quick link as shown. Repeat for another strap.

Step 5
When properly installed, the ladder will hang with the curved portion of the stabilizer against the underside of the Bongo, and the top handle will be across the edge of the bounce surface.

Photo is shown with Bongo out of the water to show proper ladder orientation and placement.

Step 6
Attach an anchoring device to the ring or mount it on the inner surface of the tube just above the waterline, opposite of the ladder.

Note: For seasonal anchoring situations, it is important to use an anchor weighing a minimum of 80 lbs (37kg).
The Bongo is now ready to use! Please read and follow all safety instructions before enjoying your Bongo.

Cleaning and Storage

  • When the inflatable product is not being used, store it in a covered, shaded area. This will help protect it against ultraviolet (UV) rays and extend the life of the product.
  • Clean the inflatable completely with mild soap and fresh water. NEVER USE PETROLEUM-BASED PRODUCTS OR SOLVENTS FOR CLEANING.
  • NEVER USE A POWER WASHER SINCE THE HIGH-PRESSURE WATER JET WILL DAMAGE THE SOFT PVC COATING ON THE TUBE BEYOND REPAIR.
  • The product should be completely dry and remain dry while stored.
  • Roll the product loosely and place in a container, preferably one that rodents can’t chew through.
  • Secure against unauthorized or unsupervised use.
  • Store in a cool, dry location. Do not store product directly on the concrete surfaces. Place mothballs around stored inflatables to keep mice and insects away.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: IMPORTANT:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Another option is to make the whole area unattractive to rodents by changing the environment, making the area less hospitable for rodents. Removing any food source from the shoreline can also be a good deterrent. Check with your local DNR for additional guidance or possible restrictions.

Repairs

For large holes, tears or seam failures, contact RAVE Sports Customer Service at 1-800-659-0790. Additional patches may be purchased at www.ravesports.com. For minor holes or tears:

  • Inflate the product and locate the leak by spraying the tube with mild soapy water.
  • Determine the hole size and cut a patch 1-2 inches (3-5 cm) wider than the diameter of the hole. Make sure all corners of the patch are rounded.
  • Deflate the product and clean the patch and area around the hole with rubbing alcohol. Let dry completely.
  • READ AND UNDERSTAND THE WARNINGS ON THE GLUE CONTAINER.
  • Apply glue to the patch and the area around the hole. Let the glue dry until it is tacky to the touch.
  • Lay the product on a flat, hard surface and apply the patch. Working from the center to the outer edge, rub out any air bubbles between the patch and the product.
  • Let the patch dry for at least 24 hours before attempting to inflate the product.

Preparation

Lay the Aqua Jump Eclipse or Bongo 20 on a flat surface. Make sure there are no sharp objects under the product that might puncture the tube. Ensure the tube is completely opened and the top is facing up. Locate the valve and inflate the tube to about 2/3rds full (The anchor harness will be the first item to be attached. Do not attach the surface and springs to the tube at this time).

While standing inside the partially inflated tube, spread the Anchor Harness out onto the ground. With the ropes completely spread out, ensure the ropes are untangled and not crossing each other.
All RAVE anchor harnesses are made using an “offset” design with a swivel. This allows maximum holding force in high winds. The AJ150 Anchor Harness will have one long rope running through the hole in the nylon glide assembly and one shorter rope tied directly to the other side of the nylon glide.

The AJ200/Bongo20 Anchor Harness has one long rope and one shorter rope but both ropes pass freely through the left/right holes of the nylon glide assembly. The glide must be free to slide along both ropes in order to maintain equal tension on all ropes, regardless of wind direction. Ensure both ropes are not tangled or crossed and that the glide is free to slide along both.

Installation

With the Anchor Harness evenly spread out inside the tube, identify between the long anchor harness rope, and the short rope. Identify the size of the product you have to the diagrams on the next page. Connect the end of each rope to the corresponding panel of the Aqua Jump/Bongo. If you are unsure as to the size of the product you own, count the number of panels on your inflatable tube, and match the number of panels to the diagram.

While looking at the appropriate diagram, locate the panel on the diagram labeled “VALVE” and match the diagram to the inflation valve location on your tube. This will tell you where to attach the long rope and the short rope to the appropriate locations on the tube. The harness will be attached to the triangular-shaped quick-link on each anchor plate.

Ensure the triangular quick-link is completely open by rotating the nut counter-clockwise. Attach the loop end of the rope into the quick link and close completely by rotating clockwise until tight. Repeat for all rope ends.

IMPORTANT

With each anchor harness end attached to the tube, ensure the nylon glide is free to slide smoothly along the rope(s). Finish assembling & inflating your product, move it to the water and attach your anchor line. Attach anchor line to the stainless steel pivoting ring.

Recommendation

For simple installation year after year, it is recommended to mark each attachment position. Under each attachment point, use a permanent marker to mark the location on the inflatable tube where each rope is clipped by marking L for long rope and S for short rope. This will assist you in attaching the harness in the future, and the marks will be hidden when the trampoline is fully assembled.

Inspect the nylon glide periodically to ensure it is sliding freely along the ropes. Remove weeds, foliage, or tangles that may prevent the glide from sliding properly. This movement of the glide along the ropes is necessary to maintain equal tension on the harness ropes and helps prevent flipping of your trampoline in high winds. Also, inspect the stainless steel swivel periodically to ensure it is free to rotate. This is critical to prevent twisting and damage to your anchor rope.

Inspect the entire Anchor Harness each year before attaching, and replace it if necessary.

The following conditions could result in potential hazards or damage to your product:

  • Fraying or deterioration of the rope.
  • Corrosion or debris preventing the stainless steel anchoring ring on the glide from spinning freely.
  • Foliage or debris preventing the glide from sliding freely along the ropes.

Inspect and correct, or replace as necessary, to ensure proper function and performance of your anchoring system.

Replace the cap on the valve after inflation to ensure an air-tight seal.
A special inflation adaptor is included with this product. If you are using the RAVE Sports High-Speed Inflator, simply lock the adaptor onto the end of the inflation hose and insert it into the valve body.

To check the exact pressure of your product the use of a RAVE Digital Pressure Gauge (Item #02496 not included) is recommended.

Step 3 – Attaching the Ladder
Move the Bongo to shallow water. Attach the ladder in the center of the blue panel to the left of the air valve so that the warning label on the tube is visible to anyone climbing the ladder. The RAVE lettering on the ladder steps should be facing the climber.

Feed both ends of the ladder straps through the gaps on the Bongo jump surface. Pull them through far enough so that the quick link reaches the loops attached to the anchor plate in the back.

Step 4
Attach the anchor harness following the instructions included with the harness.

Step 5
Attach an anchor line (not included) to the swivel ring of the anchor harness under the Bongo.

Adjust the length of the anchor line so that it is approximately 1-2 ft. (0,3-0,7m) longer than the depth of the water. The RAVE Sports anchor bungee #01024 (sold separately) will provide 2 ft. (0,7m) of stretch to absorb waves and any vertical bouncing motion. To help prevent flipping of your product in high wind conditions, do not exceed 3 ft. (1m) of slack in the anchor line.
NOTE: More slack will improve anchor holding performance, but too much slack may be a sufficient line to allow the Bongo to stand on the edge and flip over in strong winds. For best results, maximize your anchor holding power via more weight or a different type of anchor and minimize your anchor line length.

To anchor for the season, use at least 80-100 lbs. (36-45kg) of anchor weight for most applications. However, Bongos on bodies of water where there are high winds, strong currents or large waves may require a heavier or more permanent anchoring system. To anchor for the day, use at least 40-50 lbs. (18-27kg) of anchor weight.
Please read and follow all safety instructions before using your Bongo.

Cleaning and Storage

  •  When the inflatable product is not being used, store it in a covered, shaded area. This will help protect it against ultraviolet (UV) rays and extend the life of the product.
  • Clean the inflatable completely with mild soap and freshwater. NEVER USE PETROLEUM-BASED PRODUCTS OR SOLVENTS FOR CLEANING.
  • The product should be completely dry and remain dry while stored.
  • Roll the product loosely and place it in a container, preferably one that rodents can’t chew through.  Secure against unauthorized or unsupervised use.
  • Store in a cool, dry location. Do not store product directly on the concrete surfaces. Place mothballs around stored inflatables to keep mice and insects away.

♦NEVER USE A POWER WASHER SINCE THE HIGH-PRESSURE WATER JET WILL DAMAGE THE SOFT PVC COATING ON THE TUBE BEYOND  REPAIR.

::::::::::::::::::::::: Important :::::::::::::::::::::::

Another option is to make the whole area unattractive to rodents by changing the environment, making the area less hospitable for rodents. Removing any food source from the shoreline can also be a good deterrent. Check with your local DNR for additional guidance or possible restrictions.

Repairs
For large holes, tears, or seam failures, contact RAVE Sports Customer Service at 1-800-659-0790. Additional patches can be purchased at www.ravesports.com. For minor holes or tears:

  •  Inflate the product and locate the leak by spraying the tube with mild soapy water.
  • Determine the hole size and cut a patch 1-2 inches (35cm) wider than the hole.
Let the glue dries until it is tacky to the touch.
  • Lay the product on a flat, hard surface and apply the patch. Working from the center to the outer edge, rub out any air bubbles between the patch and the product.
  • Let the patch dry for 24 hours before inflating the product.

RAVE Sports Anchor Connector Kit Instructions

Thank you for purchasing an anchor connecting system for your RAVE product. This kit is specifically designed to provide a secure anchor connection for all RAVE water recreation products that require anchoring for extended periods in both salt and fresh water applications.

  • Marker Float (yellow) with tether line and snap hook identifies the position of the anchor when your RAVE product is not connected.
  • ½” Braided Nylon Anchor Line (15ft ) with Bull Snap.
  • Elastic Shock Cord (black), which gets connected inbetween the anchor and anchor line.
  • Short section of chain, for embedding into concrete or connecting to the eyelet of a land screw or other type of permanent mooring device on the lake or sea bottom.

  1. Choose an anchor suitable for your lake or sea bottom and wind conditions. Multiple cinder blocks or a concrete septic system cover weighing a minimum of 150 lbs or a 48″ long land screw work well for most situations. Consult with local experts for additional assistance, if required.
  2. If embedding chain into concrete, leave the top link of the chain (closest to the elastic shock cord) exposed above the surface of the concrete. For other forms of anchors, remove the chain and connect the stainless ring of the shock cord to the anchor eyelet using the removable quick link.
  3. Attach both the marker float hook and the nylon anchor line bull snap to the ring on the opposite end of the shock cord.
  4. With the elastic shock cord and float securely fastened, position the anchor in the desired position on the lake or sea bottom.
  5. Securely tie the nylon anchor line to the swivel or “O” ring anchoring point(s) on your RAVE product and trim to length. Note: It is extremely important that you establish the proper anchor line length in accordance with your owner’s manual. DO NOT have slack in anchor lines. The shock cord will keep tension on your product and will absorb vertical motion caused by waves and normal use. For products having multiple anchoring points, repeat the installation of an anchor connecting system for each location. Inspect for signs of wear and tear periodically. Replace the anchor connecting system if worn, corroded or damaged.

When disconnecting your RAVE product from its anchor(s), release the bull snap from the shock cord ring, keeping the rope connected to the product. Using the float clip, connect the clip to the “O” ring on the lower end of the elastic shock cord to enable the anchor to remain in the water. This will prevent the anchor connecting system from being struck by boat propellers or becoming frozen in the ice (northern climate lakes).
