RF EXPOSURE
This watch contains a radio transmitter and a receiver. When it is ON, it receives and transmits RF energy. When you communicate with your watch, the system handling your call controls the power level at which your device transmits.
RADIO WAVES:
THIS PHONE MEETS THE GOVERNMENT’S REQUIREMENTS FOR EXPOSURE TO RADIO WAVES. Your device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed and manufactured not to exceed the emission limits for exposure to radio-frequency (RF) energy. These limits are part of comprehensive guidelines and establish permitted levels of RF energy for the general population. The guidelines are based on standards that were developed by independent scientific organizations through periodic and thorough evaluation of scientific studies. These guidelines include a substantial safety margin designed to ensure the safety of all persons, regardless of age and health.
The exposure standard for phones employs a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit set by public authorities such as the Federal Communications Commission of the US Government (FCC), or by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), is 1.6 W/kg averaged over 1 gram of body tissue, and Limbs is 4.0 W/Kg averaged over 10 grams. Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions with the device transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. This device is complied with SAR for general population /uncontrolled exposure limits in ANSI/IEEE C95.1-1992 and had been tested in accordance with the measurement methods and procedures specified in IEEE1528. Although the SAR is determined at the highest certified power level, the actual SAR level of the device while operating can be well below the maximum value. This is because the device is designed to operate at multiple power levels so as to use only the power required to reach the network. In general, the closer you are to a wireless base station antenna, the lower the power output of the device. Before a device model is available for sale to the public, compliance with national regulations and standards must be shown. The highest SAR value for this model device when tested is 0.54 W/Kg for use close to the body, and 0.67 W/Kg for Limbs. During SAR testing, this is set to transmit at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands, and placed in positions that simulate RF exposure in usage near the body with the separation of 10 mm, and the Limbs with the separation of 0 mm. Although the SAR is determined at the highest certified power level, the actual SAR level of the device while operating can be well below the maximum value. This is because the device is designed to operate at multiple power levels so as to use only the power required to reach the network. In general, the closer you are to a wireless base station antenna, the lower the power output. Additional information on SAR can be found on the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA) Web site: http://www.ctia.org/
FCC STatement
Note: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
- Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/ TV technician for help.
Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. For the receiver devices associated with the operation of a licensed radio service (e.g. FM broadcast), they bear the following statement: This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
- this device may not cause harmful interference
- this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Limiting exposure to radio frequency (RF) fields For individuals concerned about limiting their exposure to RF fields, the World Health Organisation (WHO) provides the following advice in Fact Sheet 193 Electromagnetic fields and public health: mobile watches (October 2014): Precautionary measures: Present scientific information does not indicate the need for any special precautions for the use of mobile watches. If individuals are concerned, they might choose to limit their own or their children’s RF exposure by limiting the length of calls, or using ‘hands-free’ watches to keep mobile watches away from the head and body.
Further information on exposure to radio waves can be obtained from the WHO http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs193/en/

INTERFERENCE
Care must be taken when using the watch in close proximity to personal medical devices, such as pacemakers and hearing aids.
Pacemakers
Pacemaker manufacturers recommend that a minimum separation of 15 cm be maintained between a device
and a pacemaker to avoid potential interference with the pacemaker. To achieve this use the watch on the opposite arm to your pacemaker and do not carry it in a breast pocket.
Hearing Aids
People with hearing aids or other cochlear implants may experience interfering noises when using wireless devices or when one is nearby. The level of interference will depend on the type of hearing device and the distance from the interference source, increasing the separation between them may reduce the interference. You may also consult your hearing aid manufacturer to discuss alternatives.
Medical devices
Please consult your doctor and the device manufacturer to determine if operation of your watch may interfere with the operation of your medical device.
Hospitals
Switch off your smart watch when requested to do so in hospitals, clinics or health care facilities. These requests are designed to prevent possible interference with sensitive medical equipment.
Aircraft
Switch off your smart watch whenever you are instructed to do so by airport or airline staff. Consult the airline staff about the use of smart watch on board the aircraft, if your watch offers a ‘flight mode’ this must be enabled prior to boarding an aircraft.
EXPLOSIVE ENVIRONMENTS
Petrol stations and explosive atmospheres In locations with potentially explosive atmospheres, obey all posted signs to turn off wireless devices such as your watch or other radio equipment. Areas with potentially explosive atmospheres include fuelling areas, below decks on boats, fuel or chemical transfer or storage facilities, areas where the air contains chemicals or particles, such as grain, dust, or metal powders.
Blasting Caps and Areas
Turn off this smart watch when in a blasting area or in areas posted turn off “two-way radios” or “electronic devices” to avoid interfering with blasting operations.
