If there’s an orange flashing light on your HomePod mini

An orange flashing status light means that HomePod mini isn’t getting enough power. Find out what to do if you see this status light.

If HomePod mini is plugged into a Mac

You’ll see an orange flashing light on HomePod mini if you’re resetting HomePod mini to its factory settings with Mac. After you unplug HomePod mini from your Mac and plug it back into the power supply that it came with, the orange flashing light will turn off.

Check your power adapter

Make sure that you’re using the 20W (9V ⎓ 2.22A) power adapter that came with HomePod mini.

If you still see the orange flashing light

Try the following steps. After each step, see if the orange light turns white.

  • Unplug the power adapter from the wall, then plug it back in.
  • Unplug the cable from the power adapter. Wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in.

If you still see the orange flashing light on top of HomePod mini, contact Apple Support.
