The TM3402 has the following ports available on the back of the modem.
  • TEL 1 / TEL 2 – Connects to home telephone wiring and to conventional telephones or fax machines.Note: If you only have one phone line, connect your telephone wiring into TEL 1.
  • Reset – Use this button in the unlikely event that you want to restore the default factory settings. This button is recessed to prevent accidental resets of your modem.
  • Ethernet – Provides internet access to a single device. Only one port is active at a time.
  • Cable – Connect your coaxial cable line to this port.
  • Power – Connect the supplied power cord to this port.

For modems with four Ethernet ports, only plug devices into Ethernet port 1 because only one port is active and additional devices plugged into the other ports will not receive Internet access. For modems with a sticker covering up the extra ports, use the accessible port only. Do not remove the sticker.
