Estimated installation time: 30 minutes

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This light operates from a battery charged from a solar panel. If the Lithium Ion battery voltage runs down to 3.6V, the light will automatically switch to ECO mode and dim down to reserve battery for a longer run time. When the solar panel has recharged the Lithium battery and voltage above 3.7V, the light will automatically switch back to AUTO mode, and normal brightness.

INITIAL BATTERY CHARGE

IMPORTANT: Clouds, rain, snow, and other weather conditions may not allow the solar panel to completely recharge the battery. Other obstructions such as buildings or trees may block the sun as well.

When installing the solar panel, make sure it is aimed as described below with a minimum amount of obstructions. Please mount the panel facing toward the southern sky. An extended solar panel cord is available at Homedepot.com.

  •   PRIOR TO USE, the battery will require 2 to 3 days of full, direct sunlight to completely charge with the switch in the OFF position. Connect the solar panel cord plug with the connector extending from the bottom of the light housing. If possible, aim the solar panel toward the South and tilt it approximately 50° from horizontal. If the solar panel cannot be aimed toward the South, then tilt the panel approximately 30°. Another option is to add an extension cord (excluded in the package) available at Homedepot.com.
  • Actual operating time will vary depending upon how frequently the light is turned on by the motion sensor.
  • Solar lighting is not designed to equal standard 120V lighting. The amount of light output is reduced to allow the sun time to fully recharge the battery between lighting cycles.
  • Solar collection is only effective in direct sunlight. Every hour the light is on requires a minimum of 6 hours of sunlight charging.
MOUNTING LOCATION

The most important thing to remember for the operation of your solar powered motion sensing light is that it works from the power received from direct sunlight. The solar panel works best when placed on the southern-facing portion, or the highest point, of a structure. The more direct sunlight the solar panel receives in a day, the longer the light will operate.

SOLAR LIGHT FIXTURE

The main unit contains the LEDs, a motion sensor, and a rechargeable Lithium battery. When deciding where to mount this unit, keep in mind that the motion sensor that activates the light has a “field of vision” of 50 ft. (15 m) in front of the light and about 180° detection angle at a surrounding air temperature of 77°F (25°C).

SOLAR PANEL

The solar panel converts the sun’s energy into electricity, thus charging the battery stored in the solar light fixture. The solar panel requires direct sunlight falling onto the face of the solar panel for as long as possible over the course of the day.
When choosing the location for the solar panel, make sure it is aimed toward the South and is tilted to a suitable angle to allow as much direct sunlight to fall upon it as possible. Make sure there is a minimum amount of obstructions between the solar panel and the sun. Also, make sure your solar panel location is not too far away from the solar light fixture for the wires to reach and connect.

NOTE: At high noon, adjust the solar panel so that it faces the sun. During any time of year, this adjustment will provide optimal positioning for collecting solar energy.
You can also angle the panel up by 45°, which should provide for adequate exposure.

The alarm (receiver) false alarms.
Check if any animals are in the vicinity of the alarm. During warm weather, moving shadows may also activate the alarm. Make sure that the alarm is not positioned near a radiator or heat source. Check if any appliances within the property are emitting a strong electromagnetic field near the door/window magnetic contact. Strong electromagnetic fields may cause the door/window magnetic contact to false alarm.
The alarm (receiver) cannot receive the signal sent from the transmitter (remote key fob or door/window magnetic contact).
Check if the pairing between the transmitter and the receiver has been successful. If the pairing was successful, check the battery voltage for both the receiver and the transmitter. Low voltage will cause the product to fail.
The alarm detects movement, however, no alarm sounds.
Check if the low battery indicator is flashing (please replace batteries immediately). If the unit is armed and set in the HOME mode and the alarm detects an intrusion, the alarm will not sound. The PIR Sensor in the alarm is disabled in HOME mode. Check if the receiver is installed correctly.

Operation

Setting the Vibration Sensor

  • The vibration sensor (D) has the following switch settings: off-The vibration sensor is off.
  • RF-When triggered, the vibration sensor will not sound but instead sends a wireless signal to the alarm (receiver) (A).
  • RF+Alarm-The vibration sensor beeps three times when turned on. When triggered, it sends a wireless signal to the alarm (receiver) and after 2 seconds the sensor sounds for 8 seconds.
  • Install the vibration sensor on the upper corner to middle of the glass door or window, out of the reach of children and pets.

Using the System in AWAY Mode

    • The window installed with the vibration sensor (D) is knocked.
    • Someone enters the property and the alarm (A) detects the intrusion.
  • To disarm the alarms press OFF (3) on the key fob (B). When the alarm (A) receives the DISARM command, it will beep twice. If it is in the ALARM status, the sound immediately turns off.

Using the System in HOME Mode

  • In HOME mode, you are using the door/window magnetic sensors (C) or the vibration sensors (D). The PIR sensor in the alarm (A) is disabled in this mode. Therefore, your windows and doors are protected by magnetic sensors or vibration alarms whilst you are in the property. If a door or window is opened or knocked, the alarm will sound. To disarm the alarm press “OFF” on the remote key fob (B).
  • Slide the switch (1) down on the key fob (B) to HOME mode and press ON (2). The

Quick Start Guide
MOTION SOLAR SECURITY LIGHT
Item # 1005414982

Model # DFI-7005-WH-G

The solar panel requires full, direct sunlight to charge the battery. Clouds, rain, snow, and other weather conditions may not allow
the solar panel to completely recharge the battery. Other obstructions such as buildings or trees may block the sun as well.
When installing the solar panel, make sure it is aimed toward the sun with a minimum amount of obstructions. If possible, mount the panel facing toward the southern sky.
Refer to the included full instruction manual “Use and Care Guide” for installation, safety, and additional information.

Operation

1. Setting the sensor for wall or eave mounting

  • For wall mounting, turn the ring around the sensor clockwise until the “W” and the single indicator are aligned with the mark on the front of the sensor.
  • For eave mounting, turn the ring around the sensor counterclockwise until the “E” and the double indicator are aligned with the mark on the front of the sensor.

2. Activating the rechargeable battery
The light fixture has an ON/OFF switch located on the back of the light to disconnect the battery during shipping.

  • Press the “I” indicator on the switch to activate the rechargeable battery.

3. Adjusting the light timer

  • OFF – turns light off.
  • TEST – light operates day or night for 5 seconds after all motion has stopped. Used for setup.
  • 5S – 60S – motion activated. Light can be set to stay on between 5 seconds and 60 seconds after all motion has stopped.

4. Adjusting the lamp heads
The lamp heads may be adjusted left or right and up and down.

5. Connecting the solar panel to the light fixture

  • Adjust solar panel toward the sun for maximum sun exposure.
  • Plug solar panel connector into light fixture connector.

INITIAL BATTERY CHARGE

IMPORTANT: Ensure the solar panel cord is firmly attached to the light fixture cord with no space between the two connectors.
IMPORTANT: The solar panel requires full, direct sunlight to charge the battery. Clouds, rain, snow, and other weather conditions may not allow the solar panel to completely recharge the battery. Other obstructions such as buildings or trees may block the sun as well.
When installing the solar panel, make sure it is aimed as described below with a minimum amount of obstructions. If possible, mount the panel facing toward the southern sky.

  • PRIOR TO USE, the battery will require 2 to 5 days of full sun to completely charge with the control switch in the OFF position. Plug the solar panel cable into the connector extending from the bottom of the battery case. If possible, aim the solar panel toward the south and tilt it approximately 50° from horizontal. If the solar panel cannot be aimed toward the south, then tilt the panel approximately 30° if possible.
  • Actual operating time will vary depending upon how frequently the light is turned on by the motion sensor.
  • Solar lighting is not designed to equal standard 120V lighting. The amount of light output is reduced to allow the sun time to fully recharge the battery between lighting cycles.
  • The solar collection is only effective in direct sunlight. Every hour the light is on requires a minimum of 16 hours of sunlight charging. Solar panels collect less than 10% of the sun’s energy.

To ensure the maximum RUN TIME solar performance:

  • Set the time dial HALFWAY between 5S and 60S.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
The light fixture is not charging. The solar panel is not COMPLETELY connected to the light fixture. Ensure the solar panel connector is fully inserted into the light fixture connector. There should be NO (lap.
The light fixture flashes ON and OFF repeatedly. The light fixture is in TEST mode. Set the light fixture motion sensor to the OFF or 5S-60S (5 seconds to 60 seconds) setting.
The light fixture is charging but does not come on at night. The motion sensor is set to the OFF position. Set the light fixture motion sensor to the 5S-60S (5 seconds to 60 seconds) setting.
