My bookcase is broken?
You can contact IKEA customer service for help. They will send you a replacement part or a new bookcase if there is no replacement part available.

What’s the Size of bookcase?
According to the product details, the measurements are Width: 15 3/4 ” Depth: 11 ” Height: 79 1/2 ” Max load/shelf: 33 lb.
Is this the same Billy book shelf that is sold for less than $60 at the Ikea retail store ?
Yes! Yes it is! It’s the exact same one that is sold at Ikea for $39.00! And, listing it like it’s on sale from almost $180?? Because of the supply chain issues, things are all on backorder.
What is the interior dimension of each shelf?
11″ deep x 27″Wide. The height is adjustable top section and bottom section as there are holes drilled in the bookcase walls.
Can you buy extra shelves?
Yes, you can buy extra shelves and they even now offer an extension to add to the top.
I’m building library from wall to wall with ikea billy bookcases. but one of the them would have to be only 14″wide. can i cut it to make it narrow?
I tried cutting one. It didn’t go well. I ended up spacing the sections so they all had a gap. Then covering the gap with 1×4(actually 3) trim. I used the same style crown molding and kick board. Worked out great.
can it be unassembled for moving?
I would think that would be no problem since it comes in unassembled, so it would seem as though you should be able to take it apart to move it. There has been no reason for us to move the one we purchased, but I’m not 100% positive
Does anyone know if it will hold vinyl records at 11inches deep?
Yes, but part of it may go beyond the edge. They are about a foot deep.
what are the dimensions of the individual spaces please?
It depends on the size of the bookshelf. I bought two 30 inches wide and one 15 inches wide. There is only one stationary shelf in the middle, so the shelves can be adjusted to whatever height you want.
will i be able to fit storage cubes in this?
If they are small. They are about 10-12 inches deep.
Can you add the glass doors from Ikea to this bookcase?
Yea you can
What are the dimensions of the cut out at the bottom? I have floor moldings, will this bookshelf mount flesh against my wall?
There is no cut out at the bottom. Your shelf will be away from the wall as much as your moldings are deep.
Can we order just the hardware for this book shelf?
No
Will they hold heavy books without bowing?
The longer shelf the 31 inch shelf has a little bowing. About 1/16 of an inch from the sides to the middle of the shelf. We are considering putting a support at the back to help with the bowing. The bottom shelf and middle shelf are more supported so they don’t seem to be bowing. The 15 inch shelf does not show signs of bowing. We have lots of books on each shelf which make each shelf quite heavy.
