Assemble Pet Fountain

Note: Rinse all fountain components (except for the adaptor) with warm water before using the pet fountain. This will remove any residue from the manufacturing process.

  1. Take the pump apart for cleaning by first removing the blue faceplate. Use your finger to pull up on the small tab.
  2. Remove the blue teardrop-shaped stator for cleaning by pulling up on the small lip.
  3. Use a fingernail to pull out the impeller, which is held in place magnetically. Clean the pump parts with warm water and soap, then reassemble the impeller, stator, and faceplate.
  4. Rinse the carbon filter thoroughly under cold water to remove any loose carbon dust. Open the filter housing and rinse both parts underwater. Insert the filter into the filter housing base with the larger side facing down. Attach the filter housing top and press down until it snaps in place.
  5. Insert the filter housing into the hole on top of the pump.
  6. Place the assembled pump and filter housing into the foam filter with the cord running above it.
  7. Place the assembled pump, filter housing, and foam filter into the bottom of the bowl as shown. Press down to engage the suction cups. Note: Wetting the suction cups will ease assembly.
  8. Once the pump is securely in place, feed the cord through the hole on the back of the bowl and out the notch on the bottom of the bowl.
  9. Remove the extra slack from the cord and push the rubber seal firmly into the hole.
  10. Open the connector tube by using the tabs to pull it apart. Rinse both sides under water.
  11. Close the connector tube by aligning the clips from the bottom and pressing down until it snaps shut.
  12. Insert the connector tube into the hole on the top of the filter housing as shown.
  13. Attach the tower by aligning it with the raised notches on the back of the bowl.
  14. Insert the flow control knob into the hole on the top of the tower. Turn the knob to maximize, decrease or shut off the water stream.
Note: Water will not flow from the spout if the flow control is on the lowest setting or if it is not installed.
  15. Attach the lid to the tower. Pick up the pet fountain by the bowl and place it in a desired  location. Pour water into the bowl, leaving 1/2inch of space between the water level and the rim of the bowl.
  16. Make sure the electrical power cord, the adaptor and your hands are completely dry. Connect the in-line plug and make sure no silver is showing, then plug the adaptor into a standard electrical wall outlet.
NOTE: Never let the water level fall below 1 inch from the base of the bowl, or your pump might fail.

Pet Fountain Cleaning

NOTE: Replace the carbon filter every 2-4 weeks and replace the foam filter every 1-2 months.

  1. Unplug the fountain and disconnect the in-line plug.
  2. Pick up the pet fountain by the bowl and take it to the sink.
  3. Pour out the water, and then disassemble the pet fountain.
  4. Discard the carbon filter and the foam filter. See steps 1-3 on page 6 for cleaning your pump. Use a solution of 80% water and 20% white vinegar to remove hard water buildup.
  5. Wash all other parts with warm water and soap or place in the top rack of the dishwasher.

NOTE: Do not place the adaptor or pump in the dishwasher.
