FLEX 2.0™ DIAGRAM

CONTROLLER DIAGRAM

WARNING
DO NOT FLY YOUR FLEX 2.0™ IN FOUL WEATHER!

FLIGHT PREPARATION

  • Verify that there are 4 “AAA” batteries inside the remote control unit and the FLEX 2.0™ battery has been
    fully charged.
  • Make sure to be in a large open space preferably a field or a park with an open radius of at least
    60.96 m (200 ft).
  • Make sure to start your drone on a clean flat-level surface before take-off.
  • IMPORTANT! Until you have experience in flying your FLEX 2.0™, it is not advised to use it at any rate of wind. Pick a day with zero wind or extremely light wind conditions when learning how to fly.

SYNCING YOUR FLEX 2.0™

Important! When syncing your FLEX 2.0™ with the controller always make sure that the drone is on a flat level surface and that your digital trim settings are in the center position.

  1. Before starting, make sure that the power on your controller is off and the battery is removed from the FLEX 2.0™. Make sure that there are no other 2.4G devices in the area.
  2. Insert the battery into the FLEX 2.0™ and set it down on a flat level surface. Push down the power button and hold for a few seconds (see diagram D1). The red and white LED lights on the drone should begin to flash rapidly.
  3. Quickly turn ON the remote and you will notice that the top red LED light on the face of the controller should also be flashing. The lights on the drone will flash slower.
  4.  Push the throttle stick all the way up until it stops and then pull it back all the way down to the bottom(see diagram below). When pushing the stick up or pulling the stick down you should hear a high-pitched beep both ways. The indicating lights on the drone and controller will stop flashing and stay solid on. You have successfully synced your FLEX 2.0™ and are ready to fly. If this doesn’t happen, repeat steps 1-4 again.
  • TIP 1: Try not to leave too much time between putting your battery into the drone and turning on the controller or your syncing window will time out.
  • TIP 2: Syncing your drone indoors or in the shade will make it easier to see the LED light indicators on both the controller and the drone.

NOW YOU ARE READY TO FLY!

If you have successfully synced your FLEX 2.0™ to your controller as explained on page 4 you are now ready to fly. Before beginning to fly your drone you should familiarize yourself with how to start and stop the rotors, how to use your auto land feature and how the controls work so please carefully read and familiarize yourself with various control features explained in the next few pages. Once again as a beginner pilot you should learn how to control your drone in a large open field or park on a day with zero or very light wind. Do not try to fly your FLEX 2.0™ too high until you become a more experienced pilot.

RECOGNIZING THE FRONT & REAR OF THE FLEX 2.0™

Even though the FLEX 2.0™ has four rotors there is still a front or “forward” facing direction and “rear” or backward-facing direction. The front and forward-facing direction of the FLEX 2.0™ is the side with two white lights.(see diagram E ). The rear and backward-facing direction of the Quadrocopter is the side with one red (see diagram E).

STARTING/STOPPING THE ROTORS

Note: You can start/stop your FLEX 2.0™ manually or automatically. Please follow one of the steps below to operate accordingly. Make sure you have properly synced the FLEX 2.0™ and the power stays on.

MANUAL START/STOP

  • To start the rotors simply move the two control sticks both down and out (see diagram), hold until the rotors start spinning. Now release both sticks to the neutral position and push the throttle up to take off.
  • To stop the rotors, after starting the rotor you can simply wait about 10 seconds, and it will stop automatically. Or move both sticks down and out again to stop immediately. After take-off, you can simply pull the throttle all the way down and land.

AUTO START/LAND

The FLEX 2.0™ has an auto start/land feature which allows you to start/land automatically. Simply press the AUTO START / LAND button on the top of the controller and your FLEX 2.0™ will begin taking off/landing(see diagram below).

NOTE: You can still control the direction while auto-starting/landing to avoid obstacles.

SPEED SELECT BUTTON

The FLEX 2.0™ has 3-speed settings; 1 (SLOW), 2 (MEDIUM), and 3 (HIGH). The default setting when you first turn on your FLEX 2.0™ is the 1 (SLOW) speed mode. To increase the speed simply trigger the speed setting button (see remote diagram on pg 3) You will hear the beeping sound, 1 beeping sound indicates slow speed, 2 beeping sounds indicate medium speed and 3 beeping sounds indicate high speed. Speed settings can be set before flight or during the flight.

FLIGHT CONTROL

Below is a list of basic flight functions for your long-range remote to control the FLEX 2.0™. While learning to fly your FLEX 2.0™ it is best to start in a large space with the drone facing away from you until you get used to the basic controls. As you master flying your FLEX 2.0™ you can move to more advanced maneuvering techniques. Practice makes perfect!

Move the left Throttle stick up to increase the propeller speed and the FLEX 2.0™ will accelerate and ascend.
Move the left Throttle stick down to decrease the propeller speed and the FLEX 2.0™ will decelerate and descend (see the diagram I).
While in the air, move the left Throttle stick left and the FLEX 2.0™ will rotate left.
Move the left Throttle stick right and the FLEX 2.0™ will rotate right (see diagram J).
While in the air, move the right Direction Stickup and the FLEX 2.0™ will move forward.
Move the right Direction Control down and the FLEX 2.0™ will move backward (see diagram K).
While in the air, move the right Direction Control left and the FLEX 2.0™ will bank to the left.
Move the right Direction Control right and the FLEX 2.0™ will bank to the right (see diagram L).

FLIGHT PRACTICE

To master flying your aircraft try practicing the exercises shown below, start with simple vertical takeoffs, landings, and left/right turning and rotating. Once those are mastered, move on to square and cross maneuvers. Good luck and have fun!

ADJUSTING THE TRIM

NOTE: The FLEX 2.0™ is already properly trimmed and calibrated right out of the box and should not require any trim adjustments before flying. Some more experienced pilots may want to adjust trim settings for their style of flying. After several crashes, you may need to adjust trim settings for the FLEX 2.0™ to be more balanced.

Forward/Backward Trim

  • If your FLEX 2.0™ drifts forward while in the air, push and release the FORWARD/BACKWARD TRIM button downward repeatedly until the motion stops and proper flight is maintained (see diagram M).
  • If your FLEX 2.0™ drifts backward, push and release the FORWARD/BACKWARD TRIM button upward in the same manner until the problem is resolved.

Bank Right/Left Trim

  • If your FLEX 2.0™ drifts/banks left while in the air, push and release the BANKS TRIM button to the right side repeatedly until the motion stops and proper flight is maintained (see diagram N).
  • If your FLEX 2.0™ drifts right, push and release the BANKS TRIM button to the left side in the same manner until the problem is resolved.

Spin Left Trim

  • If your FLEX 2.0™ spins left while in the air, push and release the LEFT/RIGHT TURN TRIM button to the right side repeatedly until the motion stops and proper flight is maintained (see diagram O).

Spin Right Trim

  • If your FLEX 2.0™ spins right while in the air, push and release the LEFT/RIGHT TURN TRIM button to the left side until the problem is resolved (see diagram).

Throttle Trim

  • Release the Throttle to hovering your FLEX 2.0™ in the air, if your FLEX 2.0™ keeps ascending, push and release the Throttle TRIM button downward repeatedly until the motion stops and proper flight is maintained (see diagram q).
  • If your FLEX 2.0™ descend, push and release the Throttle TRIM button upward in the same manner until the problem is resolved.

EMERGENCY STOP: press the “speed setting button” and “stunt button” simultaneously to stop the drone blade from spinning. Use it when you lose control of your drone.

NOTE: The use of the Trim buttons utilizes sounds. A single long Beep indicates the product is center trimmed. When there’s no sound when press the trim means the product is trimmed to the maximum on a particular side.

CALIBRATING THE FLEX 2.0™

NOTE: Your FLEX 2.0™ comes pre-calibrated out of the box so you are ready to fly.
After several crashes and shocks to your gyro sensors, you may notice that your drone is drifting and can not hold its center position as well as it used to.
This most likely means that you need to recalibrate your FLEX 2.0™. Please follow the simple instructions below.

  1. Place the FLEX 2.0™ on a flat level surface
  2. Make sure the FLEX 2.0™ is on and that the controller is synced (refer to syncing pg 4). Do not start the blades. Instead, move both the throttles and control stick down and to the right corner and hold them there for 5 seconds(see diagram R). You will see the lights on the drone rapidly flash and stop. Once the lights stop flashing you have completed your calibration and are ready to fly!

TROUBLESHOOTING: If you do not see the lights flash, first remove the battery from the drone then turn off your controller and start again. Always make sure to put your battery in first, then turn on your controller.
Push the left throttle stick up all the way and then pull back down again. When you hear the beep the FLEX 2.0™ is synced to the controller and you are ready to calibrate.

HOW TO PERFORM 360º STUNT ROLLS

Performing 360º stunt rolls with the FLEX 2.0™ is as easy as 1-2-3:

  1. Hover the FLEX 2.0™ in still position making sure that you have at least 5 feet of clearance above and below the quadrocopter. Set the speed settings to mode 2 or 3.
  2. Press the 360 stunt button down and you will enter the stunt roll mode which is indicated by rapid beeping (see diagram S) sounds.
  3. Determine which direction you want it to flip and quickly push the right control stick in the direction you want to flip your FLEX 2.0™ (see diagram T). You have 2 choices a) Right side roll, b) Left side roll.

NOTE: To exit the stunt roll mode without flipping, you can press the button again. The beeping sound will stop.

REMOTE CONTROL DIAGRAM

PREPARING FOR FLIGHT

  • Verify that there are 4 “AAA” fresh batteries inside the remote control unit and the helicopter has been fully charged.
  • Make sure your helicopter is turned on and properly synced to your remote control (See “SYNC YOUR HELICOPTER” next page).
  • Fly only in a large room free of obstacles with an open radius of at least 25 feet. Close all windows and doors, turn off fans and close air ducts or any other openings that may cause drafts in the room.

FLYING TIPS

  • Parental guidance or adult supervision is suggested at all times.
  • If you are flying the helicopter with others, make sure all spectators are behind you.

SYNCING YOUR HELICOPTER

Your GYROPTER™ utilizes an automatic 2.4G channel selection system that allows up to 8 people to fly side by side in the same wireless range.
FOR ONE PERSON PLAY:

  1. Before starting, make sure that both your remote control and helicopter are turned OFF. Make sure that there are no other 2.4G devices nearby.
  2. Turn ON the helicopter and set it down on a flat surface. The white LED head light will start to flash rapidly. This means your helicopter is searching for a controller to pair with.
  3. Turn ON your remote control. The controller power indicator will light on. Now pull the trigger all the way down then up. The white LED head light of the helicopter will stary solid indicating that the helicopter and remote control are synced. When this happens you have properly synced your helicopter and you are ready to fly.
Note: If the white LED head light do not stay solid, repeat steps 1-3 to sync the helicopter again.
    FOR MULTI-PERSON PLAY:
  4. Before starting, make sure that all of the helicopters and remote controls are turned off. Make sure that there are no other 2.4G devices nearby.
  5. Players must sync their helicopters successively. Make sure that no one else is syncing while you sync your helicopter by following steps 1 to 3 above.
  6. When a player’s helicopter is synced and working it should be left ON while the other players sync their helicopters.
  7. Should there be a mistake or interference, all players must turn off their remote controls and helicopters and start the process all over again.
Before syncing, make sure the remote control’s trigger is at its default position.
UNDERSTANDING HELICOPTER TRIM ADJUSTMENTS

If your helicopter over-rotates CLOCKWISE (to the right), push and release the LEFT trim button repeatedly until the turning stops and proper flight is maintained. If your helicopter over-rotates COUNTERCLOCKWISE (to the left), push and release the RIGHT trim button in the same manner until the problem is resolved. Occasionally, you may need to adjust the left and right trim to ensure the helicopter flies straight and responds accurately to control commands.

CALIBRATING THE HELICOPTER

If the HELICOPTER becomes unstable during the course of flying, you may need to calibrate the internal gyros. To do this place the HELICOPTER on a flat level surface. press and hold the Calibrate button. The LEDs on the HELICOPTER will flash quickly and then remain solid, this indicates your drone has been recalibrated (see diagram F).

AUTOMATICALLY TAKE OFF / LAND

Make sure you have properly synced The HELICOPTER.

  • Simply press the “start/land” button on the top of controller, your HELICOPTER will automatically take off.
  • To stop or land the HELICOPTER just press the “START/LAND” button again and the HELICOPTER will descend and land automatically.

FLIGHT CONTROLS

While you’re learning to fly your helicopter, it is best to start with a large room until you get used to the basic controls.
One-handed free from flight.

GYROPTER™ PROPELLER SYSTEM

Your GYROPTER™ propeller system is a precision instrument that may need repair or replacement from time to time for optimal flight function. Crash landing from high-speed aerial flights may damage your GYROPTER™ rotor blades or connecting rods.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

If your GYROPTER™ loses its ability to fly correctly, inspect the propeller system carefully for the following two common issues:

  1. Replacing The Connecting Rod: The connecting rod is a small “handcuff” style device that stabilizes the “upper” rotors. There is one connecting rod on the upper rotor. Please see Diagram 1. If a connecting rod is broken or missing simply replace it by removing the existing broken unit and replacing it with a new one. You may have to use slight pressure when reattaching both ends of the new connecting rod. Make sure that the new connecting rod is secured and locked in place. See Diagram 2. Make sure there is no damage to the actual blade or arm that holds the connecting rod in place. If there is, you must replace the entire blade system.
  2. Replacing The Upper and Bottom rotor blades: The rotor is subject to damage as you learn to properly fly and control your GYROPTER™. If after a crash your helicopter has loss of control or flies erratically you should carefully inspect your entire propeller system for any sign of damage. Most common are cracked or chipped blade, broken connecting rod, and frozen balance bar (this is when the balancing bar and blade are jammed and can not move freely up and down). See diagrams 3 through 12.

PREPARING FOR FLIGHT

  • Verify that HOVER STAR has been fully charged.
  • Make sure the empty space has no obstacles that would obstruct flight
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FLY YOUR HOVER STAR OUTDOORS. IT COULD DAMAGE YOUR PRODUCT.

LETS GET STARTED!

Follow these simple steps in the order below and you will be successfully flying your HOVER STAR in no time!

  1. When using the HOVER STAR, first find a room in your house with high ceilings and a large open space where you have room to walk around. You may need to move some furniture.
  2. Make sure all external sources of wind like ceiling fans, floor fans or opened windows are turned off and closed. Central Air conditioning should be okay but it is a good idea to stay away from strong drafty areas.
  3. Make sure your HOVER STAR is fully charged.
  4. Short press the Power Button until the LED lights on the HOVER STAR turn on and become solid green (see diagram D)
  5. Hold the HOVER STAR in the mid-air and then quickly release it as if you were dropping it from your hand, The HOVER STAR will automatically turn on and begin hovering.
  6. To stop the HOVER STAR quickly capture the HOVER STAR with your hand and turn it upside down (see diagram E) the blades will stop spinning.
  7. When done playing make sure to turn the power off by depressing the power button for 3 seconds (see power button diagram on pg. 3 ) All the lights will turn off.

HOW TO CONTROL YOUR HOVER STAR™

Your HOVER STAR is equipped with motion sensors and air pressure sensors which read your hand motions to determine its direction for flight.

TO MAKE YOUR HOVER STAR™ GO UP:

There are 2 ways to make your HOVER STAR ascend:

  1. Place one hand palm side up directly underneath the bottom of the HOVER STAR and slowly move your hand straight up, HOVER STAR will rise upward (See Diagram F)
  2. The second way which will create a faster response, is to hold both your hands out simultaneously on both sides of the HOVER STAR about two inches from the body so the HOVER STAR is in the center space between your two hands. The drone will quickly ascend! (See Diagram G)

TO MAKE YOUR HOVER STAR™ FLY HORIZONTALLY ACROSS THE ROOM:
Hold your hand up vertically palm side facing the HOVER STAR like your going to push it away, but don’t actually touch it. The HOVER STAR will begin to move in the opposite direction of your hand (See Diagram H).

TO MAKE YOUR HOVER STAR™ MOVE FASTER AND FURTHER.
Once you have gotten the hang of controlling the direction of your HOVER STAR simply move your hand along outside of the HOVER STAR as it begins to fly away, literally follow the HOVER STAR with your hand. The longer and faster you move your hand behind the HOVER STAR the further and faster it will fly (See diagram I) Remember to follow behind it, not touch it.

TROUBLE SHOOTING:

If your HOVER STAR drifts uncontrollably or does not respond correctly to the hand movements as explained above you may need to recalibrate the internal gyro sensor.

HOW TO RECALIBRATE THE GYRO:

a) first start with the HOVER STAR in the power-off position. Next, hold the HOVER STAR upside down (See diagram J).
b) Quickly depress and release the power button 2 times and the lights on the body should begin to rapidly flash red and green, this is how you know that you are in “Calibration Mode”. (See diagram K).
c) While the lights are flashing turn the HOVER STAR back over right side up and set it on flat level surface (See diagram L).
d) When the lights stop flashing and you have solid green light on the body, you have successfully completed the calibration process and you are ready to fly!

HOW TO PLAY SAFELY!
Safety is number one and should be taken seriously! Please carefully study the below DO’s and DON’Ts so that you may always enjoy the safe operation of your HOVER STAR.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION: KEEP YOUR HOVER STAR™ AWAY FROM FACE AND EYES.

HOVER STAR™ WARNING:
Always play in a large open space and warn spectators that you will be flying your HOVER STAR so that they are aware of its position. Before flight, inspect the HOVER STAR to make certain that there is no obstruction to the propellers or damage to the product and that everything appears to be in good working order
WARNING!

• Choking/Cutting Hazard. Small Parts/Sharp Rotor Blades.
• Keep hands, hair and loose clothing away from the propeller when the power switch is turned to the ON position.
