What’s the difference between Razer Opto-Mechanical™ switches and Razer Mechanical Switches?
The opto-mechanical switch uses optical light technology for the actuation. The benefits of the new design are faster switch performance and a longer life span of up to 100 million clicks when compared to the mechanical switches.
Is the wrist rest on the Razer Huntsman Elite made of leather?
The wrist rest material is made of leatherette material. No latex is used in the wrist rest.
Is the wrist rest on my Razer Huntsman Elite uniquely paired to the keyboard?
No, the wrist rest is not uniquely paired to the keyboard, meaning you can use your wrist rest with any Razer Huntsman Elite keyboard.
How can I set the preferred media player on my Razer Huntsman Elite?
The media keys work when a media player is running or in the background. The media player keys will execute the assigned function of the corresponding media player that is active on your computer.
If two or more media players are open, the media keys on the keyboard will only interact with the player that was last accessed.
What are the differences between the Razer Huntsman and Huntsman Elite?
Both keyboards come equipped with Razer Opto-Mechanical™ Switches. The Elite features a 4-sided under-glow, ergonomic wrist rest and dedicated media keys not found on the standard Huntsman.
What regional layouts are available for the Razer Huntsman keyboards?
The Huntsman comes in US, UK, German, Nordic, French, Traditional Chinese, Thai, Korean, Japanese, Russian, Italian, Swiss, Spanish, Greek, Turkish and Portuguese. The Huntsman Elite only comes in US, UK, German, French, Spanish, Nordic and Japanese.
Is the Razer Huntsman Elite a USB-3.1 keyboard?
No, the keyboard requires two USB 2.0 ports.
Does the Razer Huntsman Elite keyboard have on-board memory?
Yes, the keyboard comes with Hybrid On-Board Memory and Cloud Storage. This means you can store 5 profiles directly on your keyboard so that you get your personalized settings anytime, anywhere.
Troubleshooting FAQs
My Razer Huntsman Elite will sometimes repeat key strokes or key strokes will get stuck and spam.
If you encounter this issue, follow the steps below:
- Ensure your wrist rest is properly aligned and secured to your keyboard.
- Remove the wrist rest, realign the wrist rest, and reconnect it.
- Next, ensure the under-glow lighting is working correctly.
- If not properly attached to your keyboard, the under-glow may not light up correctly and you may experience issues with key strokes.
My Razer product does not work at startup after a cold start, what should I do?
Make sure that USB ports are not in hibernation mode.
- Go to Windows Device Manager and click the arrow next to “Universal Serial Bus Controllers”.
- Right-click on any Root Hub and select “Properties.”
- Click the “Power Management” tab and ensure that “Allow computer to turn off this device to save power” is ticked.
Proceed to do this under each Root Hub.
My Razer Huntsman Elite has unresponsive or stuck keys.
Ensure your wrist rest is aligned and securely attached to your Razer Huntsman Elite. Razer has also released a firmware update to help address this issue.
My Razer product does not work correctly with a specific program or game. What should I do?
If you are experiencing issues with the Razer device in an application, test the device in another application to confirm if the issue is specific to that application. If the Razer device functions properly in another application, then the program is likely the cause of the issue.

How do I request or purchase replacement parts for my Razer product?

How do I clean my Razer keyboard?
The overall finish can be cleaned with wipes generally used for cleaning your computer monitor or sunglasses. Ensure that the surface is free of large dust particles or debris before wiping the surface with any product. Wiping debris into the surface can lead to minor scratches on the surface of the unit.
If you wish to clean under the key caps, Razer suggests holding the unit upside down and/or using compressed air from a can. We do not recommend removing the keycaps from your mechanical switches.
We suggest unplugging the device from your computer before cleaning.
Note: Under no circumstances should you ever submerge the keyboard in any type of liquid. Submerging the keyboard in any liquid will void the warranty on your keyboard.
Can I connect only one of the USB connectors on the Razer Huntsman Elite instead of two?
Yes, you can use only the “RAZER” labeled USB connector by itself. However, only the keyboard’s key backlighting will light up and not the wrist rest under glow. Otherwise, you will have full keyboard functionality when using only the one USB connector.
Does the RGB LED wrist rest on the Razer Huntsman Elite require a battery to power it?
No, the wrist rest LEDs are powered by a proprietary pogo pin connection. Simply align the wrist rest and connect it directly to your keyboard to switch on the wrist rest under glow. Ensure both USB connectors are plugged into your computer.
Can I connect my Razer Huntsman Elite via a USB hub?
It is advised to plug both USB ports either directly to your PC or a powered USB hub.
