INTRODUCTION
Meet the Learn & Dance Dino by VTech®! Includes 9 action plates that will customise Dino’s voice, emotions and dancing styles. When you insert one of the 3 red plates into Dino’s back the voice style will change into a dino, cool robot or a fearsome monster! There are also 3 yellow plates to make Dino happy, angry or sleepy and 3 blue plates that make Dino march, dance to hip-hop or ballet.

WARNING:
All packing materials such as tape, plastic sheets, packaging locks, removable tags, cable ties and packaging screws are not part of this toy and should be discarded for your child’s safety.

GETTING STARTED
Unlock the packaging lock:
- Rotate the packaging lock 90 degrees anticlockwise.
- Pull out the packaging lock and discard.
BATTERY INSTALLATION
NOTE: For best performance, remove all factory-installed batteries from the Learn & Dance Dino and use new, alkaline batteries.
- Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
- Locate the battery cover at the bottom of the unit and open it with a screwdriver.
- Install 4 new AA batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance).
- Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure.
BATTERY NOTICE
- Use new alkaline batteries or fully charged NI-MH (Nickel Metalhydride) rechargeable batteries for best performance.
- Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended.
- Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard (carbonzinc) or rechargeable, or new and used batteries.
- Do not use damaged batteries.
- Insert batteries with the correct polarity.
- Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
- Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
- Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
- Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
- Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
- Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging (if removable).
- Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
Disposal of batteries and product
The crossed-out wheelie bin symbols on products and batteries, or on their respective packaging, indicates they must not be disposed of in domestic waste as they contain substances that can be damaging to the environment and human health.
The chemical symbols Hg, Cd or Pb, where marked, indicate that the battery contains more than the specified value of mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd) or lead (Pb) set out in Battery Directive (2006/66/EC).
The solid bar indicates that the product was placed on the market after 13th August, 2005.

PRODUCT FEATURES
- Off/Mode Selector
Slide the Off/Mode Selector to turn the unit On and choose a mode. To turn the unit off, slide the Off/Mode Selector to the Off position.
- High/Low Volume Switch
Slide the High/Low Volume Switch to select Low or High volume.
- Light Up Buttons
If there’s no Dino Plates inserted on Dino’s back, press the Light Up Buttons to learn colours and shapes. If there is a Dino Plate inserted, press the buttons to hear phrases about the corresponding plate.
- Dino-Mite Button
Press the Dino-Mite Button to see Dino dance in different styles with different songs.
- Three Plate Slots
Insert a red character plate in the round slot, a yellow emotion plate in the triangle slot and a blue music style plate in the square slot.
- Nine Dino Plates
Each Dino plate represents a characteristic, emotion or music style. Customise Dino by putting the plates on his back. Once all three slots are filled, Dino will dance and sing according to the combination on his back. There are 27 combinations to discover.
Red Dino Plates include: dino, robot and monster characteristics.
Yellow Dino Plates include: happy, angry and sleepy emotions.
Blue Dino Plates include: marching, ballet and hip hop music styles.
7. Dino Egg
When you have finished playing, store all of the Dino Plates in the Dino Egg.
8. Automatic Shut Off
To preserve battery life, the Learn & Dance Dino will shut off automatically after several minutes without any input. The unit can be turned on again by sliding the Off/Mode Selector or by pressing the Light Up Buttons or Dino-Mite Button. The unit
will also automatically turn off when the batteries are very low.
ACTIVATE NORMAL PLAY MODE
The Learn & Dance Dino is in a try-me mode in the packaging. There are two ways to activate normal play mode:
- Turn the unit On. Move the High/Low Volume Switch from High to Low. You will hear two beeps indicating the unit has entered normal mode.
- When the unit is off, move the High/Low Volume Switch from High to Low and then turn the unit On.
ACTIVITIES
Dino Dances
In this activity, customise Dino by putting the Dino Plates on his back to change his characteristics, emotions and music styles.
Once all 3 plates are in Dino`s back, he will sing and dance according to which Dino Plates are inserted. There are 27 different combinations.
Press the Light Up Buttons to learn about colours and shapes or repeat the responses of the inserted Dino Plates. Press the Dino-Mite Button to see Dino sing and dance based on the inserted plates.

Let’s play a game with Dino! Put the Dino Plates on Dino’s back to hear what he says about the inserted plate. Press the three Light Up Buttons to learn about colours and shapes or repeat the responses. Press the Dino-Mite Button to see Dino sing and dance based on the inserted plates.

CARE and MAINTENANCE
- Keep your Learn & Dance Dino and the Dino Plates clean by wiping them with a slightly damp cloth.
- Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source.
- Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended period of time.
- Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the unit stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:
- Please turn the unit OFF.
- Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
- Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
- Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.
- If the product still does not work, replace with a new set of batteries.
