HOW TO STORE FRESH FOOD AND BEVERAGES
REFRIGERATION COMPARTMENT
Refrigerator compartment defrosting is completely automatic. Droplets of water on the rear wall inside the refrigerator compartment indicate that the automatic defrosts phase is in progress. The defrost water is automatically run into a drain hole and collected in a container, where it evaporates.
FREEZER COMPARTMENT
The freezer compartment allows for the storage of frozen food and the freezing of fresh food. The quantity of fresh food that can be frozen in a specific time period is indicated on the rating plate. Arrange the fresh food in the freezing area inside the freezer compartment, leaving enough space around it to allow air to circulate freely. Avoid allowing fresh food to come into direct contact with frozen food. Load limits are determined by baskets, flaps, drawers, shelves, etc.. Make sure that these components can still close easily after loading. The freezing zone’s drawer/compartment is shown in the picture above. To optimize freezing speed and get more storage space, the freezer compartment can be used without the freezer drawers and the food can be placed directly on the bottom of the compartment. To avoid food waste, please refer to the recommended setting and storage found in the online user manual.

Fan*
The Fan improves temperature distribution inside the refrigerator compartment, allowing better preservation of stored food. By default, the fan is switched off. To turn on the fan press the button of the fan. Please note that when the fan is switched on it will not continuously work. The fan will start/stop working depending on the temperature and/or humidity level inside the fridge. It is therefore absolutely normal if the fan does not move even if the fan is switched on.
Appliances equipped with a fan can also be fitted with an antibacterial filter. To purchase this filter, visit our website or contact Customer Service.
Ice cubes
Fill 2/3 of the ice tray with water and place it back in the freezer compartment. Do not use sharp or pointed objects to remove the ice.
Defrosting the freezer compartment
The freezer should be defrosted once or twice a year or when excessive frost is present (3 mm thickness). The formation of frost is normal. The amount and rate at which frost accumulates depend on room conditions and how often the door is open. To defrost the unit, switch off the product and take out all food. Leave the freezer door open to allow the frost to melt.
To prevent the water from escaping during the defrost, it is advised that you place an absorbent cloth on the bottom of the freezer compartment and wring it out regularly. Clean the inside of the freezer. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Switch the appliance back on and store the food inside.
ACCESSORIES*
STOP FROST ACCESSORY*
The STOP FROST accessory is designed to collect some of the frost which forms in the freezer compartment and it is easy to remove and clean, therefore reducing the time needed to defrost the inside of the freezer compartment.

Thanks to the rail system, this shelf allows you to slide under the front part, creating an extra space for storing tall bottles or pitchers.

FAQ’S
What should I do if the appliance does not cool?
Check that the power supply is working and the plug is properly inserted into the socket. If the problem persists, contact your local Whirlpool service center.
What should I do if the appliance makes a loud noise?
Check that all food items are properly placed inside the appliance and that they are not blocking the fan. If the problem persists, contact your local Whirlpool service center.
How long will it take for my new appliance to cool down?
It takes approximately 4-6 hours for your new refrigerator to cool down to its optimal temperature.
How long will it take for my new freezer to freeze?
It takes approximately 24 hours for your new freezer to freeze completely.
Why is there condensation on my windows?
Condensation occurs when warm air comes in contact with a cold surface. The condensation is normal and disappears once the temperature of the glass returns to normal. This phenomenon does not affect the performance of your refrigerator.
Why does my food smell funny?
The smell may be caused by food stored in plastic containers or wrapped in plastic film. When plastic is heated, it releases chemicals that can cause odors. To prevent this from happening, store food in glass or porcelain containers or wrap foods in aluminum foil before placing them in plastic bags or containers.
What is the most common problem with Whirlpool refrigerators?
The Whirlpool Refrigerator is Not Defrosting
It is one of the most common reasons a fridge won’t defrost. The defrost thermostat is broken. This thermostat measures the evaporator coils’ temperature, and when the coils get too cold, the thermostat will turn on the defrost heater.
How do I fix a Whirlpool refrigerator that is not cooling?
Possible Cause: Dirty Condenser Coils
Pull fridge away from the wall – allows better access to the back and underneath of unit.
Vacuum – use a narrow hose attachment to vacuum all the coils and external hardware on the refrigerator.
Use a Dryer Brush – scrub the coils with a dry brush to remove stubborn debris.
What causes a Whirlpool refrigerator to stop working?
The most typical source for a Whirlpool refrigerator to stop cooling is the condenser coils being dirty. Since the refrigerant travels through the condenser coils, heat is dissipated. The coils will not be able to successfully release heat if it is blocked with dust and the likes.
Why do you have to wait 24 hours to plug in a fridge?
Its because the compressor lubrication oil could get into the cylinder of the compressor and if not given plenty of time to drain back into the oil sump at the bottom of the compressor, could cause major compressor valve damage on start up. 2 or more hours is a good rule to observe
How do you clean refrigerator coil?
Vacuuming. All right I got it nice and clean an old toothbrush. And the can of air really makes quick work of getting in back into these nooks and crannies.
Why is my new Whirlpool fridge so loud?
A Whirlpool refrigerator runs loud when the condenser fan motor fails. If there is too much dirt accumulated in and around the fan blades, it prevents the fan from working properly. The same is true with dirty condenser coils; if they are clogged, the condenser won’t work properly and your refrigerator will run loudly.
