1. Explanation of warning symbols and notes

3. Safety instructions

  • Do not use the universal remote control in damp environments and avoid contact with splashing water.
  • Keep the universal remote control away from heat sources and do not expose it to direct sunlight.
  • As with all electrical products, the universal remote control should be kept out of the reach of children.
  • This product is intended for private, non-commercial use only.
  • Use the product only for the intended purpose.
  • Protect the product from dirt, moisture and overheating and use it in dry rooms only.
  • Do not use the product in areas in which electronic products are not permitted.
  • Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
  • Do not modify the product in any way. Doing so voids the warranty.
  • Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children due to the risk of suffocation.
  • Dispose of packaging material immediately in accordance with the locally applicable regulations.
  • Do not operate the product outside the power limits specified in the technical data.
  • Do not open the device or continue to operate it if it becomes damaged.
  • Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself. Leave any and all service work to qualified experts.
  • Only use the article under moderate climatic conditions.

Warning – Batteries

  • When inserting batteries, note the correct polarity (+ and – markings) and insert the batteries accordingly. Failure to do so could result in the batteries leaking or exploding.
  • Only use batteries (or rechargeable batteries) that match the specified type.
  • Before you insert the batteries, clean the battery contacts and the polarity contacts.
  • Do not allow children to change batteries without supervision.
  • Do not mix old and new batteries, or batteries of different types or from different manufacturers.
  • Remove the batteries from products that are not being used for an extended period (unless these are being kept ready for an emergency).
  • Do not short-circuit batteries.
  • Do not charge batteries.
  • Do not burn batteries.
  • Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
  • Never open, damage or swallow batteries or allow them to enter the environment. They can contain toxic, environmentally harmful heavy metals.
  • Remove spent batteries from the product and dispose of them without delay.
  • Avoid storing, charging and using in extreme temperatures and at extremely low atmospheric pressures (such as at high altitudes).

4. First steps – Inserting the batteries

Note

  • Alkaline batteries are recommended. Use two batteries of the type “AAA” (LR 03/Micro).
  • Remove the battery cover on the back of the universal remote control (A).
  • Insert the batteries, observing the “+/-” marks for polarity (B).
  • Close the battery compartment (C).

Note: Code memory

  • When replacing the batteries, all the codes you have programmed remain stored for up to 10 minutes. Make sure that you do not press any buttons until the new batteries are inserted in the remote control. If you press a button and there are no batteries in the remote control, all codes will be deleted.

Note: Energy saving function

  • The remote control switches itself off automatically if a button is pressed for longer than 15 seconds. This prolongs the life of the batteries if the remote control is stuck in a place where the buttons are pressed permanently, e.g. between sofa cushions.

5. Setup

Note

  • For proper infra-red transmission, always hold the remote control in the approximate direction of the device to be operated.
  • Press the “MODE” button to select the secondary device group: AUX, AMP,DVB-T, CBL (8 in 1 model only).
  • Press the “SHIFT” key to control the blue function keys. The shift function is deactivated by pressing the “SHIFT” key again or automatically after 30 seconds if no key is pressed.
  • If no entry is made within 30 seconds, SETUP mode is automatically terminated. The LED flashes six times and then goes out.
  • Each type of device can be programmed under any device key, e.g. a TV can be programmed under DVD, AUX, etc.
  • You cannot operate a device with the universal remote control while it is in Setup mode. Exit Setup mode and select the device to be operated using the device selection buttons.
  • Please note that the remote control emits infra-red signals. These are not visible to the human eye.

5.1 Direct code entry

You can see the code list for this universal remote control under the next heading. The code list contains four-digit codes for setting the remote control to work with most AV equipment manufacturers.

For easy orientation, the codes are sorted first by type of device (TV, DVD, etc.) and within the type of device alphabetically by brand name.

  1. Switch the device you wish to operate on.
  2. Press the “SETUP” button until the LED lights up continuously.
  3. Use the device button to select the device to be operated (e.g. TV). If the selection is successful, the LED flashes once and then lights up permanently.
  4. Search the code list for the brand and type of the device to be operated.
  5. Enter the corresponding four-digit code using the number keys 0-9. The LED confirms the entry of each digit with a short flash and goes out after the fourth digit.
  6. Then test the remote control and check whether the desired functions can be controlled. It is possible that the first code is not the most suitable, and possibly not all functions are available. In this case, try the next code mentioned for the selected device type/brand from the list.

Note

  • Avalid code is automatically saved.
  • If the code is invalid, the LED flashes six times and then goes out. Repeat steps 5.1.1 to 5.1.5, or use another method to enter the code.

To view all of the programmable codes for this universal remote control you can download and view the PDF here. That PDF contains hundreds of codes sorted by manufacturer, making it easy to find your make of TV.

5.2 Manual code search
The universal remote control has an internal memory that already contains up to 350 codes per device type for the most common AV devices. You can go through these codes until the device to be operated shows a response. For example, the device to be operated switches off (“POWER” key) or changes channel (“PROG+/PROG-” key).

  1. Switch the device you wish to operate on.
  2. Press the SETUP button until the LED lights up permanently.
  3. Use the device button to select the device to be operated (e.g. TV). If the selection is successful, the LED flashes once and then lights up permanently.
  4. Press the “POWER” or “PROG+/PROG-” key to scroll through the preset codes until the device to be operated shows a response.
  5. Press “OK” to save the code and exit the code search. The LED goes out.
  6. Then test the remote control and check whether the desired functions can be controlled. It is possible that the first code found is not the most suitable, and possibly not all functions are available. In this case, repeat steps
  7. The code search starts with the next code following the last one saved.

Note

  • Amaximum of 350 codes of the most common devices can be stored in the internal memory. Due to the numerous AV devices available on the market, it may happen that only the most common main functions are available. If this is the case, repeat steps 5.2.1 to 5.2.5 to find a more compatible code. A code may not be available for some specific device models.

5.3 Automatic code search
The automatic code search uses the same preset codes as the manual code search (5.2). However, the universal remote control automatically searches the codes until the device to be operated shows a response. For example, the device to be operated switches off (“POWER” key) or changes channel (“PROG+/ PROG-” keys).

  • Switch the device you wish to operate on.
  • Press the “SETUP” button until the LED lights up continuously.
  • Use the device button to select the device to be operated (e.g. TV). If the selection is successful, the LED flashes once and then lights up permanently.
  • Press the “PROG+/PROG-” or “POWER” key to start the automatic code search. The LED flashes once and then lights up permanently. It takes 6 seconds for the universal remote control to start the first search.
    Note:
    Setting the search speed
  • The default setting for the search time per code is 1 second. If this does not suit you, you can change to a search time of 3 seconds per code. To switch between search times, press “PROG+” or “PROG-” within the 6 seconds before the automatic code search starts.
  • The LED confirms the respective code searches with a single flash.
  • As soon as the device to be operated shows a response, press the “OK” button to save the code and exit the code search. The LED goes out.
  • Then test the remote control and check whether the desired functions can be controlled. It is possible that the first code found is not the most suitable, and possibly not all functions are available. In this case, repeat steps 5.3.1.–5.3.6.The code search starts with the next code following the last one saved.
  • To cancel the automatic search during the search process, press the “EXIT” key.

Note

  • If all codes have been searched without success, the universal remote control exits the automatic code search and automatically returns to operating mode. The currently stored code remains unchanged.

5.4 Code recognition
Code recognition offers you the ability to determine a code you have already saved.

  • Press the “SETUP” button until the LED lights up continuously.
  • Use the device button to select the device to be operated (e.g. TV). If the selection is successful, the LED flashes once and then lights up permanently.
  • Press the “SETUP” button. The LED flashes once and then lights up permanently.
  • Press one of the number keys from 0 to 9 to search for the first digit. The LED flashes once for the first digit of the four-digit code number.
  • Repeat step 5.4.4 for the second, third and fourth digits respectively.
  • You can then enter the determined code in the table below if you need it again at a later time (e.g. after accidentally deleting the remote control settings).

6. Special functions

6.1 Station punch-through

With the station punch-through function, the PROG+ or PROG- commands can bypass the currently controlled device and change the stations of a second device. All other commands are unaffected.

To activate the station punch-through function:

  • Press the desired device key (e.g. TV).
  • Press and hold the “PROG+” button.
  • Press the desired device key (e.g. SAT).
  • Release the “PROG+” key again (the LED flashes once when the setting is activated).

To deactivate the station punch-through function:

  • Press the desired device key (e.g. TV).
  • Press and hold the “PROG-” button.
  • Press the desired device key (e.g. SAT).
  • Release the “PROG-” key again (the LED flashes twice when the setting is deactivated).

6.2 Volume punch-through

With the volume punch-through function, the VOL+ or VOL- commands can bypass the device currently being controlled and adjust the volume of a second device. All other commands are unaffected.

To activate the volume punch-through function:

  • Press the desired device key (e.g. TV).
  • Press and hold the “VOL+” button.
  • Press the desired device key (e.g. SAT).
  • Release the “VOL+” key again (the LED flashes once when the setting is activated).

To deactivate the station punch-through function:

  • Press the desired device key (e.g. TV).
  • Press and hold the “VOL-” button.
  • Press the desired device key (e.g. SAT).
  • Release the “VOL-” key again (the LED flashes twice when the setting is deactivated).

6.3 Macro Power

Macro Power allows you to switch two AV devices on/off simultaneously.

To activate the Macro Power function:

  • Press the desired device key (e.g. TV).
  • Press and hold the “POWER” button.
  • Press the desired device key (e.g. SAT).
  • Release the “POWER” button again (the LED flashes once when the setting is activated).

To deactivate the Macro Power function:

  • Press the desired device key (e.g. TV).
  • Press and hold the “POWER” button.
  • Press the desired device key (e.g. SAT).
  • Release the “POWER” button again (the LED flashes twice when the setting is deactivated)

7. Maintenance

  • Never use old and new batteries in the universal remote control at the same time, as old batteries tend to leak and can lead to a loss of performance.
  • Never clean the universal remote control with scouring agents or harsh cleaning agents.
  • Keep the universal remote control free of dust by cleaning it with a dry soft cloth.

8. Troubleshooting

Q. My universal remote control does not work!
A. Check the AV device. If the main switch on the device is off, the universal remote control cannot operate the device.
A. Check that the batteries are inserted correctly and that the polarity has been observed.
A. Check that you have pressed the appropriate device button for the device.
A. Replace the batteries if the battery level is low.

Q. If there are multiple device codes listed for the brand of my AV device, how do I select the correct device code?
A. To determine the correct device code for the AV device, test the codes one after the other until most of the buttons work properly.

Q. My AV device only responds to some key commands.
A. Try other codes until most of the buttons work properly.

Q. The brand of my AV device is not mentioned in the code list.
A. In this case, use the manual code search (Section 5.2) or the automatic code search (Section 5.3). During the code search, all codes for a device type are tested across manufacturers, e.g. all codes for SAT receivers regardless of the manufacturer.

Q. I have tried all the available codes for the brand of my AV device from the code list, but none of the codes mentioned work.

A. In this case, use the manual code search (Section 5.2) or the automatic code search (Section 5.3). During the code search, all codes for a device type are tested across manufacturers, e.g. all codes for SAT receivers regardless of the manufacturer.

3. Safety notes
• Do not use the Universal Remote Control in moist or wet environments and avoid spray-water contact.
• Do not expose the Universal Remote Control to heat sources or direct sunlight.

• Never open the Universal Remote Control. It contains no user-serviceable parts.
• As with all electrical devices, keep the Universal Remote Control away from children.

4. Getting started – installing the Batteries
Note
► Alkaline batteries are recommended. Use 2 „AAA“ (LR 03/Micro) type batteries.
► Remove the battery compartment lid on the back of your URC (A).
► Check the required battery polarity and insert batteries according to the “+/–” marks inside the compartment (B).
► Close battery compartment lid (C).
Note: Code saver
► Any codes you have programmed remain stored for up to 10 minutes while you replace the battery. Make sure you do not press any buttons before you have placed new batteries inside the remote control.
All the codes will be erased if a button is pressed while there are no batteries in the remote control.

Note: Battery saving function
► The remote control switches off automatically when a button is pressed down for more than 15 seconds. This conserves battery power if the remote control gets stuck in a position where the buttons are continually pressed down, such as between sofa cushions.

  1. Setup
    Note
    ► To obtain a proper infrared (IR) transmission, allways point your Remote control in the approximate direction of the device you want to control.
    ► Press the “MODE” key to select the secondary device group: AUX, AMP, DVB-T, CBL (only 8 in1 Model).
    ► Press the Shift key to operate the blue function keys. The Shift function deactivates by pressing the Shift key again, or automatically after approx. 30 sec. without use.
    ► No entry for approx. 30 seconds will time out the Setup mode. The LED indicator shows six flashes and turns off.
    ► Each device type can be programmed under any device key, i.e a TV can be programmed under DVD, AUX, etc.
    ► If you want to control a device , it´s not possible while the Universal Remote Control is in the Setup Mode. Exit the Setup mode and select the device you want to control using the device selection keys.

5.1 Direct Code Entry
Your Universal Remote Control Package contains a code list. The code list shows 4-digit codes for most A/V device manufacturers in alphabetical order and grouped by device type (e.g. TV, DVD, etc.). If the device you want to control is covered by the code list, the Direct Code Entry is the most convenient entry method.
5.1.1 Turn on the device you want to control
5.1.2 Press the SETUP key until the LED indicator is permanently lit.
5.1.3 Select the device you want to control using the device key (e.g. TV). A successful selection is indicated by the LED with one flash followed by permanent light.
5.1.4 Check code list for brand and type of the device you want to control.
5.1.5 Enter the corresponding 4-digit code using the 0 – 9 keys. The LED indicator confirms each entered digit via a short flash and turns off after the fourth digit.

Note
► If the code is valid, it is saved automatically.
► If code is invalid, the LED indicator flashes six times and then turns off. Repeat steps 5.1.1 to 5.1.5 or use a different code entry method.

5.2 Manual code search
Your Universal Remote Control is equipped with an internal memory, which is preloaded with up to 350 codes per device type for the most common A/V devices. You can zap through these codes until the device you want to control shows a reaction. This might be that the device you want to control switches off (POWER key) or changes the channel (PROG+/PROG- keys).
5.2.1 Turn on the device you want to control
5.2.2 Press the SETUP key until the LED indicator is permanently lit.

5.2.3 Select the device you want to control using the device key (e.g. TV). A successful selection is indicated by the LED with one flash followed by permanent light.
5.2.4 Press the “POWER” or the PROG+/PROG- key to zap through the preloaded codes until the device you want to control reacts.
5.2.5 Press MUTE(OK) to save the code and exit the code search. The LED indicator turns off.

Note
► Internal memory limitations allow only up to 350 most common device codes to be preloaded. Due to the extensive number of different available A/V devices on the market, it may be possible that only the most common main functions are available. If so, repeat steps 5.2.1 to 5.2.5 to find a more compatible code. No code may be available for some special device models.

5.3 Auto Code Search
Auto Code Search uses the same preloaded codes as the Manual Code Search (5.2) but your Universal Remote Control scanns through the codes automatically until the device you want to control shows a reaction. This might be that the device you want to control switches off (POWER key) or changes the channel (P+/P- keys).
5.3.1 Turn on the device you want to control
5.3.2 Press the SETUP key until the LED indicator is permanently lit.
5.3.3 Select the device you want to control using the device key (e.g. TV). A successful selection is indicated by the LED with one flash followed by permanent light.
5.3.4 Press the PROG+/PROG- keys or POWER to start the Auto Code Search. The LED indicator flashes once followed by permanent light. The Universal Remote Control has a latency of 6 seconds before the first scan starts.

Note: Scan Speed Settings
► Scan Speed Settings can be set at either 1 or 3 seconds. The default setting for the scan time per single code is 1 sec. If this feels uncomfortable , you can switch to 3 sec. scan time per single code. To switch between the scan times, press PROG+ or PROG- during the 6 sec. latency before Auto Code Search starts scanning.
5.3.5 The LED indicator confirms each single code scan with a single flash.
5.3.6 Press MUTE(OK) to save the code and exit the code search. The LED indicator turns off.
5.3.7 To stop the Auto Code Search during the scan process, press the EXIT key.

Note
► When all codes are searched without success, the Universal Remote Control exits
Auto Code Search and returns to operational mode automatically. Currently stored code is not changed.

5.4 Code Identification
The Code identification offers you the possibility, to determine an already entered code.
5.4.1 Press the SETUP key until the LED indicator is permanently lit.
5.4.2 Select the device you want to control using the device key (e.g. TV). A successful selection is indicated by the LED with one flash followed by permanent light.
5.4.3 Press SETUP key. The LED indicator flashes once followed by permanent light.
5.4.4 To find the first digit, press the numeric keys from 0 to 9. The LED indicator flashes once to indicate the first digit of the 4-digit code number.
5.4.5 Repeat step 5.4.4 for the second, third and fourth digit.

6. Special Functions
6.1 Punch Through Channel The Punch Through Channel allows the PROG+ or PROG- commands to bypass the currently controlled device and switch the channels on a second device. All other commands remain uninfluenced. To activate the punch through channel setting:
• Press desired device mode key (e.g. TV).
• Press and hold “PROG+” key.
• Press desired device mode key (e.g. SAT).
• Release “PROG+” (the indicator flashes once if the setting is activated). To deactivate the punch through channel setting:
• Press desired device mode key (e.g. TV).
• Press and hold “PROG-” key.
• Press desired device mode key (e.g. SAT).
• Release “PROG-” (the indicator is flashing twice if the setting is deactivated).
6.2 Punch Through Volume
The Punch Through Volume allows the VOL+ or VOL- commands to bypass the currently controlled device and adjust the volume on a second device. All other commands remain uninfluenced. To activate the punch through volume setting:
• Press desired device mode key (e.g. TV).
• Press and hold “VOL+” key.
• Press desired device mode key (e.g. SAT).
• Release “VOL+” (the indicator flashes once if the setting is activated).

• Press desired device mode key (e.g. TV).

6.3 Macro Power
Macro Power enables you to turn two A/V devices on/off simultaneously.
To activate the macro power setting:
• Press desired device mode key (e.g. TV).
• Press and hold “POWER” key.
• Press desired device mode key (e.g. SAT).
• Release “POWER” (the indicator flashes once if the setting is activated).
To deactivate the macro power setting:
• Press desired device mode key (e.g. TV).
• Press and hold “POWER” key.
• Press desired device mode key (e.g. SAT).
• Release “POWER” (the indicator is flashing twice if the setting is deactivated).

7. Maintenance
• Do not mix new and used batteries for powering the Universal Remote Control, as old batteries tend to leak and may cause power drain.
• Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaners on your Universal Remote Control.
• Keep the Universal Remote Control dust free by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth.

8. Troubleshooting
Q. My Universal Remote Control does not work at all!
A. Check your A/V device. If the device’s main switch is turned off, your URC cannot operate your device.
A. Check whether your batteries are inserted properly and are in the correct +/- position.
A. Check whether you have pressed the corresponding device mode key for your device.
A. If the batteries are low, replace the batteries.
Q. If several Device Codes are listed under the brand of my A/V device, how can I select the correct Device Code?
A. To determine the correct Device Code for your A/V device, test the codes one by one until most keys work properly.
Q. My A/V equipment responds only to some of the commands.
A. Try other codes until most keys work properly.

Safety Notes

Warning

  • Given the multitude of terminal devices and wall structures available on the market, the supplied mounting kit is unable to cover every option.
  • It occasionally happens that the screws for attaching the terminal device to the wall bracket are too long.
  • Please note that the supplied wall plugs are for use with concrete brick and solid brick walls only.
  • Read the operating instructions for your terminal device before attempting to mount it. The instructions provide information about the type and measurements of suitable
    fastening materials.
  • If the supplied mounting kit does not contain suitable fastening materials for mounting the terminal device, purchase these from a specialized dealer.
  • If the wall on which the bracket is to be mounted is made of different material types and construction types than those specified, purchase suitable mounting materials from
    a specialized dealer.
  • Never apply force during mounting. This can damage your end device or wall bracket.
  • If in doubt, have this product mounted by a qualified technician -do not attempt to mount it yourself!
  • Do not mount the product above locations where persons might linger.
  • Once you have mounted the product and the attached load, check that they are sufficiently secure and safe to use.
  • You should repeat this check at regular intervals (at least every three months).
  • When doing so, ensure that the product does not exceed its maximum permitted carrying capacity and that no load exceeding the maximum permitted dimensions are attached.
  • Make surethat the product is loaded symmetrically.

Installation requirements and installation

Note

  • Only mount the TV wall bracket with the help of two other people! Seek assistance and help!
  • Different end devices have different options for connecting cables and other devices.
    Before installation, ensure that the necessary connections will still be accessible after installation.
  • The same mounting kit is included with all of our TV wall brackets. Depending on the product and mounting type, you may not need to use the entire mounting kit.
    Unneeded screws and other small parts may be left over, even if the wall bracket is properly mounted. Keep these leftover parts with the operating instructions in a safe place, just in case you might need them later on (e.g. should you move, sell the product, mount the wall bracket in a different location, buy a new TV, etc).

Warning

  • This product is suitable for wall mounting only.
  • Before installing the bracket, ensure that the wall on which the television is to be mounted is suitable for the weight and make surethat no electrical wires, water, gas, or other lines are located at the installation location.
  • Please note that the provided wall anchors are only approved for concrete and solid brick walls.
  • Observe the other warnings and safety instructions.
  • Proceed step-for-step in accordance with the illustrated installation instructions (Fig. 1ff.).
  • Check whether your television is level using the included spirit level. If necessary, adjust the television plate.
  • To adjust the inclination, loosen the side mounting screws slightly, set the desired angle, and retighten the screws securely.

Note

  • Given the multitude of terminal devices available on the market, we cannot describe all possible mounting options here.
  • Please ensure that the bracket lays flat and evenly on the back of the television.
  • Use the enclosed spacer to even out any unevenness on the back of the television.
  • Ensure that all screws have the proper length and can be mounted until they are hand-tight (see Fig. 4).

Setting and maintenance

Note
The TV wall mount must only be adjusted with the help of two other people! Get the support and help you need.
Note -Adjust the inclination
Loosen the side mounting screws slightly, set the desired angle, and retighten the screws securely.

  • To secure, hang the TV plate and tighten both of the nuts.
  • Check that the bracket is secure and safe to use at regular intervals (at least every three months). Only use water or standard household cleaners for cleaning.

Warning – Batteries

First steps – Inserting the batteries

Note

  • Use 2 type AAA batteries.
  • Remove the battery cover on the underside of the remote control.
  • Ensure the correct polarity (+/-) of the batteries and the battery compartment.
  • Insert the batteries.
  • Reattach the battery cover on the remote control.

Note – code memory
This remote control saves the settings even during a battery change.

Note: Energy saving function
The remote control switches itself off automatically if a button is pressed for longer than 15 seconds. This prolongs the life of the batteries if the remote control is stuck in a place where the buttons are pressed permanently, e.g. between sofa cushions.

Note: Low battery display

  • This remote control indicates when the batteries are getting low.
  • If the status LED flashes 2 times after a button is pressed, the batteries are weak and should be replaced promptly

Setup

With the factory settings supplied, the remote control can control approx. 90% of all PANASONIC devices. There is no need to make any settings. If the remote control does not work, select one of the setting options mentioned in 5.1 and 5.2 below.

  1. Press and hold the [MUTE] and [POWER] buttons simultaneously for approx. 3 sec. until the status LED lights up continuously.
  2. Enter a 3-digit code from the code list using the number keys. The status LED confirms each number entered with a short flash. When all three digits have been entered, the status LED goes out. If you have entered an invalid device code, the status LED flashes 3 times and then lights up permanently again for a new code entry
  3. Test the functions of the remote control. If the function does not work properly, try other device codes: [002], [003], [004], etc.

Note
If you have entered an invalid device code, the status LED flashes twice and then shows a steady light again. To exit the device code entry, press the mute button [MUTE].

Code search

  1. Press and hold [MUTE] and [POWER] simultaneously for approx. 3 sec. until the status LED lights up.
  2. Press the [CH+ or CH-] button to start the code search. With each button press, the remote control sends a new code to your TV. If your TV switches to a different programme, also test the found device code using the [POWER], [VOL+], [VOL-], [MENU] buttons and the number keys 0-9. If the functions work, press the [MUTE] button to save the device code and end the search.
  3. If the functions do not work, repeat the search by pressing the [CH+] button.

Code query

You can display the code currently used by the remote control:

  1. First press and hold the mute button [MUTE], followed by [POWER]. Release the two buttons when the status LED lights up after approx. 3 sec.
  2. Use the numeric keys to enter the numeric sequence 9-9-0. The status LED flashes twice and goes out.
  3. Use the numeric keys to enter the number 1. Count the number of individual flashes of the status LED – this number corresponds to the first digit of the current device code.

Proceed accordingly for the 2nd and 3rd digits of the code:

2nd digit -> enter 2 -> count flashing signals
3rd digit -> enter 3 -> count flashing signals

If a digit of the device code is a 0, the LED does not flash.

Overview of compatible remote controls

Due to the large number of different remote controls, we can only provide a limited number in the code list. If the button diagram and housing shape of your original remote control match one of the models shown, it is compatible (page 47).

Restoring factory settings

Press and hold the [RETURN] and [0] buttons simultaneously for approx. 5 sec. until the status LED flashes three times and then goes out. The remote control is now successfully reset to the factory setting.

Note
All taught-in or copied buttons as well as all settings of the remote control will be deleted.

Learning function

This remote control is equipped with a learning function. This allows you to transfer functions from your original remote control to this remote control.

Before you start the learning function

  1. Make sure that all batteries used in both remote controls are in perfect condition. Change them if necessary.
  2. Place your original remote control and the remote control next to each other so that the infrared diodes of the remote controls are directly opposite each other.
  3. If necessary, correct the height of both remote controls to achieve optimal alignment.
  4. The distance between the two remote controls should be approx. 3 cm.

Note

  • Do not move the remote controls during the learning process.
  • Make sure that the room lighting is not fluorescent tubes or energy-saving lamps, as these could cause interference and thus hinder the learning process.
  • The distance between the two remote controls and the nearest light source should be at least 1 metre.
  • The learning process is terminated without saving if no button is pressed or no signal is received for 15 sec. while learning mode is activated.
  • In learning mode, each button can only be assigned one function. A new function overwrites the function previously taught on this but

Activating the learning mode

  1. Press and hold the [MUTE] and [VOL+] buttons simultaneously for approx. 5 sec. until the status LED lights up continuously.
  2. Enter the code [9] [8] [0], the status LED flashes 2 times and then lights up permanently.
  3. The remote control is now in learning mode.

Transferring the button function

  1. Press the button on the original remote control whose function you want to transfer. To confirm that the command has been received, the status LED of the replacement remote control flashes.
  2. Now press the button on the replacement remote control to which the function is to be transferred.
  3. The function LED of the replacement remote control flashes 3 times for confirmation and then lights up permanently again. The new function is now saved.
  4. To transfer the functions of additional buttons, repeat these steps.
  5. Press the [MUTE] and [VOL-] buttons to save all taught-in functions and exit the learning mode.

Note
When changing the batteries of the remote control, the functions of the taught-in buttons are retained.

Deleting taught functions

Deleting a taught function

  1. Press and hold the [MUTE] and [VOL+] buttons simultaneously for approx. 5 sec. until the status LED lights up continuously.
  2.  Enter the code [9] [8] [1], the status LED flashes 2 times and then lights up permanently again.
  3. Press the button whose function you wish to delete. The status LED flashes 3 times and the desired function is deleted.

Deleting all taught functions

  1. Press and hold the [MUTE] and [VOL+] buttons simultaneously for approx. 5 sec. until the status LED lights up continuously.
  2. Enter the code [9] [8] [2], the status LED flashes 2 times and then lights up permanently again.
  3. Press the [OK] button, the status LED flashes 3 times and all taughtin functions are deleted.

EASY mode

This remote control is equipped with an EASY mode function. This allows you to limit the range of functions of this remote control to essential functions. This prevents an accidental change of the TV settings.

In EASY mode, the following buttons are available:

  2. Enter the code [9] [7] [0], the status LED flashes 2 times and then lights up permanently again.
  3. Press the [EXIT] button, the status LED flashes 3 times and EASY mode is deactivated.

Note
If the remote control is in EASY mode, only the buttons indicated in point 7 function. If one of these buttons is pressed, the status LED lights up until the button is released. In normal mode, the status LED flashes when a button is pressed.

Maintenance

  • Never use old and new batteries in the replacement remote control at the same time, as old batteries tend to leak and can lead to a loss of performance.
  • Never clean the replacement remote control with scouring agents or harsh cleaning agents.
  • Keep the replacement remote control free of dust by cleaning it with a dry soft cloth.

Troubleshooting

Q. My replacement remote control does not work!
A. Check your TV. If the main switch on the device is off, the replacement remote control cannot operate the device.
A. Check that the batteries are inserted correctly and that the polarity has been observed.
A. Check that you have pressed the appropriate device button for the device.
A. Replace the batteries if the battery level is low.
Q. My TV only responds to some button commands.
A. Try other codes until most of the buttons work properly.
F. Some button commands on the remote control are no longer working?
A. EASY mode may be activated. Deactivate EASY mode as described in point 7.2.

Product Information: Weather Station Wetterstation

The Weather Station Wetterstation (model number: 00 186310, EWS-200) is a device that displays indoor and outdoor temperature, humidity, time, date, moon phase, and weather forecast. The device comes with two parts – a base station and a measuring station. The base station is used to display the information and set alarms, while the measuring station is placed outside to transmit the outdoor temperature and humidity data to the base station.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Inserting Batteries: Before use, insert the batteries (2 pcs. UM-4 or AAA 1.5V batteries) in the measuring station first and then in the base station. Ensure that you insert the batteries with the correct polarity and close the battery compartment.
  2. Choosing a Location: Choose a suitable location for the measuring station outside, away from direct sunlight, rain, and wind. The measuring station can be mounted on a wall using the opening provided.
  3. Setting up: After inserting the batteries, place the measuring station outside and the base station inside at your desired location. The base station will search for a connection to the measuring station and perform initial setup. When successful transmission is established between the base station and the measuring station, the clock will automatically search for a DCF signal. During the search, the wireless symbol (9) will flash.   the DCF signal is received, the wireless symbol will be displayed continuously. If no signal is received, it will not be displayed. If you want to set the time manually, press the MODE button (22) for 3 seconds to stop the search for the DCF signal. The wireless symbol (9) goesout and you can set the time .
  4. Display and Settings: The base station displays indoor and outdoor temperature, humidity, time, date, moon phase, and weather forecast. You can hold down the UP button (23) or the DOWN/MEM button (24) to select the values faster. You can also choose from German (GE), English (EN), Danish (DA), Dutch (NE), Italian (IT), Spanish (SP) or French (FR) for the weekday display. To make settings, press the MODE button (22) to enter the settings mode. Use the UP button (23) to select the desired setting and the DOWN/MEM button (24) to change it. Press the MODE button (22) to confirm each selection. Once you have made all the settings, press the MODE button (22) again to exit the settings mode. The settings you made will be saved.
  5. Additional Features: The base station comes various features such as alarm, battery symbol, comfort range, channel display, and backlight. You can refer to the user manual for more information on how to use these features.

Getting Started

Measuring station

  • Open the battery compartment cover.
  • Set the desired channel (32) with the switch. If you are using only one transmitter, please leave the selection at „1“.
  • Insert 2 new UM-4 or „AAA“ 1.5V batteries observing correct polarity.
  • Close the battery compartment cover and set the unit in the desired location.
    Note
    Before use, ensure you insert the batteries in the measuring station first and then in the base station.

Base station

  • Open the battery compartment (28) and insert two AAA batteries with the correct polarity. Close the battery compartment.

Installation

  • We recommend initially placing the base and measuring stations in the intended locations without installing them and making all the settings described in 6. Operation – to do.
  • Only install the stations once the appropriate settings have been made and a stable wireless connection is established.

Note

  • The wireless transmission range between the measuring and base stations is up to 30 m in open spaces.
  • Before installation, ensure that wireless transmission will not be disrupted by interference or obstacles like buildings, trees, vehicles, high-voltage lines, etc.
  • Before the final installation, ensure that there is sufficient reception between the intended installation locations.
  • When installing the measuring station, ensure that it is protected from direct sunlight and rain.
  • The international standard height for measuring air temperature is 1.25 m (4 ft) above ground.

Warning

  • Buy special or suitable installation material from a specialised dealer for wall-mounting.
  • Ensure that no faulty or damaged parts are installed.
  • Never apply force during installation. This could damage the product.
  • Before installation, ensure that the chosen wall is suitable for the weight to be mounted, and make sure that there are no electrical wires, water, gas or other lines at the installation site on the wall.
  • Do not mount the product above locations where persons might linger.

Base station

  • Use the base to position the base station on a level surface.

Measuring station

  • You can also position the measuring station on a level outdoor surface.
  • We recommend installing the measuring station securely on an outdoor wall using the opening (31).
  • Install an anchor, screw, nail, etc. in the wall of your choice.
  • Hang up the base/measuring station using the opening intended for this purpose.

Operation

Note – Input
Hold down the UP button (23) or the DOWN/MEM button (24) to select the values faster.

Connection to the measuring station

  •  After you insert the batteries, the base station automatically searches for a connection to the measuring station and performs initial setup.

Note

  • Initial setup takes approx. 3 minutes.
  • During connection, the wireless symbol on the measuring station will flash (17).
  • Do not press any buttons during setup. Otherwise, values may not be transmitted correctly and there is a risk of value errors and inaccuracies.
  • The setup process is completed when the indoor (5, 16) and outdoor (8, 18) measurement data is displayed.
  • the base station still does not receive a signal from the measuring station, press and hold the CH-button (25) for approx. 3 seconds to start the manual search for the signal

Selecting the channel/other measuring stations
Note
You can install two more measuring stations in addition to the included measuring station. Ensure that the base and measuring stations are set to the same channel. Visit www.hama.com for suitable measuring stations.

  • Press the CH-button (25) repeatedly to set the channel to that set on the respective measuring station – see 4.1.
    Measuring station. 1, 2, 3 (7) is displayed.
  • Select CH1 if you are only using the measuring station supplied.
  • The base station now shows the data measured (8, 18) on the selected measuring station (7).

Basic and manual settings
Automatic setting using the DCF signal

  • After the first time the base station is switched on and successful transmission is established between the base station and the measuring station, the clock will automatically  search for a DCF signal. During the search, the wirelesssymbol (9) will flash.

  • If the station still does not receive a signal, press and hold the UP button (23) for approx. 3 seconds to start the manual search for the DCF signal. The wireless symbol (9) will start to flash.

Note – Time settings

  • The search process takes about 7 minutes. If it fails, the search ends.The radio symbol (9) disappears.
  • In the meantime, however, you can set the time and the date manually.
  • The clock automatically continues to search for the DCF signal on a daily basis (1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00 and 5:00 a.m.). If the signal is received successfully, the manually set time and date are overwritten.

Note – Summer time

  • The clock automatically switches to summer time. (3) appears on the display as long as summer time is activated.
  • Press and hold the UP button (23) for approx. 3 seconds to stop the manual search.

(Manual) settings

  • Press and hold the UP button (23) for approx. 3 seconds to stop the search for the DCF signal. The wireless symbol (9) goes out and you can set the time manually.
  • Press and hold the MODE button (22) for approx. 3 seconds to make the following settings one after the other:
  • Year (10)
  • Month (12)
  • Day (11)
  • Weekday (13)
  • Time zone (10)
  • 12/24 hour format (10)
  • Hours (10) Alarm time
  • Minutes (10)
  • Temperature unit °C/°F (5.8)
  • To select the individual values, press the UP button (23) or the DOWN/MEM button (24) and confirm each selection by pressing the MODE button (22).
  • If you do not make an entry for 30 seconds, the device automatically exits the settings mode and the settings you made are saved.

Note – Time zone

  • The DCF signal can be received over long distances, but always transmits the current Central European Time in Germany. Make sure you account for the time difference in countries with another time zone.
  • If you are in Moscow, the time is 3 hours later than in Germany. This means that you should set +3 for the time zone. The clock then automatically sets the time to 3 hours after the DCF signal received or relative to the manually set time.

Note – Weekday
You can choose from German (GE), English (EN), Danish (DA), Dutch (NE), Italian (IT), Spanish (SP) or French (FR) for the weekday display.

Celsius/Fahrenheit

  • Follow the steps described for (Manual) settings to switch between °C and °F on the temperature display.
  • If the temperature is outside of the measuring range, LL.L (lower than minimum temperature) or HH.H (higher than maximum temperature) will appear on the temperature display.

Alarm

  • Repeatedly press the MODE button (22) to access alarm mode.
  • AL is displayed accordingly in the seconds display.
  • Press and hold the MODE button (22) for approx. 3 seconds to set the signal time of the alarm displayed. The hours display begins to flash.
  • Set the following information in the order listed:
  • Hours
  • Minutes
  • To select individual values, press the UP button (23) or the DOWN/MEM button (24) and confirm each selection by pressing the MODE button (22).
  • If you do not make an entry for 30 seconds, the device automatically exits the settings mode and the settings you made are saved.
  • In the alarm mode (AL) display, press the UP button (23) or the DOWN/MEM button (24) to activate or deactivate the alarm. The alarm symbol (1) will appear/not appear.
  • If the alarm is triggered, the alarm symbol (1) will begin to flash and an alarm will sound.
  • Press any button (except the SNZ/LIGHT button (27)) to stop the alarm. Otherwise, it will stop automatically after 2 minutes.

Note – Snooze function

  • While the alarm signal is sounding, press the SNZ/LIGHT button (27) to activate the snooze function. Zz begins to flash on the display. The alarm signal will be stopped for 5 minutes, after which it will sound again.
  • Press any button (except the SNZ/LIGHT button (27)) to stop the snooze function and the alarm.

Weather forecast/ atmospheric pressure history

  • Based on changes in the atmospheric pressure and the data saved, the base station is able to make weather forecasts for the next 12 to 24 hours.

Note – Weather forecast
The weather forecast function is not available during the first few hours of operation because it requires data that is collected during operation.

  • The weather forecast and the current weather are indicated by five different symbols (4):

  • The weather station indicates a trend as to how the values for the outdoor temperature (8) and room temperature (5) are likely to develop over the next few hours.

Maximum and minimum temperature and humidity values

  • The base station automatically stores the maximum and minimum indoor/outdoor temperature and humidity values.
  • Repeatedly press the DOWN/MEM button (24) to switch between the current temperature and humidity, minimum temperature and humidity (MIN) and maximum temperature and humidity (MAX).
  • Press and hold the DOWN/MEM button (24) for approx. 3 seconds to reset the stored maximum and minimum values.
  • The maximum and minimum values are automatically deleted every day at midnight.

Outdoor temperature alarm

  • Repeatedly press the CH button (25) to select the measuring station channel (7) for which you would like to set an alarm.
  • Press and hold the ALERT button (26) for approx. 3 seconds until the outdoor temperature display (8) begins to flash.
  • The symbol for the lower limit value is displayed and the limit value (8) flashes.
  • Press the UP button (23) or the DOWN/MEM button (24) to set the displayed limit value and confirm your selection by pressing the ALERT button (26).
  • Then repeat this procedure for the upper limit value .
  • If you do not make an entry for 30 seconds, the device automatically exits the settings mode and the settings you made are saved.
  • Repeatedly press the ALERT button (26) to activate/ deactivate the outdoor temperature alarm. The alarm symbol (20) will appear/not appear.

If you press the SNZ/LIGHT button (27), the display will light up for approx. 10 seconds.

Low battery capacity
As soon as the (2/21) battery symbol appears on the display of the base station, the capacity of the batteries in the base/ measuring station is very low. Replace the batteries immediately.

Note – Replacing the batteries

  • Note that the stations have to be resynchronised each time after you change the batteries in the measuring or base station.
  • To do this, remove the batteries from the other station and then reinsert them, or change them as required.

Care and Maintenance

Only clean this product with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth and do not use aggressive cleaning agents. Make sure that water does not get into the product.

This remote control can by default control 90% models of PHILIPS brand, there´s no need to set it up. lf the remote doesn‘t work, please choose one of the setup method described in chapter 5.

Safety notes

  • Do not use the remote control in moist or wet environments and avoid spraywater contact.
  • Do not expose the remote control to heat sources or direct sunlight.

  • As with all electrical devices, keep the Universal remote control away from children.

Warning – Batteries

  • When inserting batteries, note the correct polarity (+ and – markings) and insert the batteries accordingly. Failure to do so could result in the batteries leaking or exploding.
  • Only use batteries (or rechargeable batteries) that match the specified type.
  • Before you insert the batteries, clean the battery contacts and the polar contacts.
  • Do not allow children to change batteries without supervision.
  • Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of a different type or make.
  • Remove the batteries from products that are not being used for an extended period (unless these are being kept ready for an emergency).
  • Do not short-circuit batteries.
  • Do not charge batteries.
  • Do not throw batteries in a fire.
  • Keep batteries out of the reach of children.

Getting started – installing the Batteries

Note

  • Use 2 AAA batteries
  • Remove the battery cover from bottom of remote.
  • Check the +/- polarity on the batteries and inside the compartment.
  • Insert the batteries.
  • Slide the battery holder back into the remote until the clips locate.

Setup

This remote control can by default control 90% models of PHILIPS brand, there´s no need to set it up. If it doesn‘t work, please choose one of the following setup methods 5.1 or 5.2.

  1. Press and hold the key [MUTE] and [POWER] until the LED will be lit, then release keys.
  2. Enter the three codes from code List. When the code input is finished, the LED will turn off.
  3. Please try to use the remote control. If it doesn‘t work well, please try other codes: [002], [003], [004] ..

Note

  • If the code is invalid, the LED flashes twice and then lights up permanently. To exit the setup, please press [MUTE].
FAST SEARCH
  1. Press and hold the key [MUTE] and [POWER] until the LED will be lit, then
    release keys.
  2. Press the key [ CH+]. Each time you press, the remote will search once. When
    the code changes, you can test if [POWER], [VOL+], [0-9] keys work well. If ok ,please press [ MUTE] to save the code and exit.
  3. If it doesn‘t work well, repeat the fast search by pressing [ CH+].
CODE INQUIRY

Use the following method to find out which code is currently set:

  1. Press and hold [MUTE], then press [POWER] until the LED will be lit, then release keys.
  2. Input [9].[9].[0] with number keys. The LED will flash twice and goes off.
  3. Press the number key 1 for the 1st digit of the code. The LED will start to flash. Count the LED flashes. The number of flashes resemble the code‘s first digit. Repeat this procedure for the 2nd and 3rd digit of the code:
    2nd digit -> enter 2 -> count LED flashes
    3rd digit -> enter 3 -> count LED flashes
    If code number is [0] the LED will not flash.
Compatible Remote Control Model

Due to too many remote control models, we only List some of them below.
If your remote control is similar to the drawing, the replacement remote can control your TV.

Resetting to factory settings

Press and hold the [RETURN ] and [0] buttons for about 5 seconds until the status LED flashes three times and then goes out. The remote control is now successfully reset to the factory settings.

Note

  • All keys with learnt codes or all copied keys, as well as all remote control settings will be deleted.

LEARN MODE

This remote control is equipped with a learning function. Thus, you could learn functions of your original remote to this remote control.

BEFORE STARTING LEARN MODE
  • The batteries in the two remote controls have to be in good condition.
    Replace them if necessary.
  • Place the remote controls with the infrared diodes so that they point towards each other.
  • Where necessary adjust the height of both remotes so that infrared diodes are properly aligned.
  • The distance between the remote controls should be about 3 cm.

Note

  • Do not move the remote controls during the learning procedure.
  • Ensure that the room is not lit by fluorescents tubes or low energy consumption lamps since such light sources could interfere with the copying.
  • The 2 remote controls must be at least 1 meter away from any light source.
  • During learning mode, if no key is selected for more than 15 seconds, the learning mode will exit automatically or if no other remote signal is received.
  • Each function key will hold only one command. A new command to be learned will automatically replace the previous one.
ENTER LEARN MODE
  1. Press and hold the [MUTE] and [VOL+] keys for approx. 5 seconds until the
    LED will be lit.
  2. Enter the code [9] [8] [0], the LED will flash 2 times and then remain on.
  3. The remote control is now ready to learn new commands.
LEARNING OF KEYS
  1. Press and release the desired key on the original remote control which you want the command to be learned. The LED at your replacement remote will flash to confirm that the information has been received.
  2. Then press and release the target key on the remote control you want learned.
  3. If the LED flashes 3 times and then remain on, the command has been learned successfully. Repeat these steps to learn other key functions.
  4. Press the [MUTE] and [VOL-] buttons to save all learnt functions and to exit the learning mode

Note

  • While replacing the batteries, the remote control will keep the functions of the learned keys.
CLEARING OF LEARNED KEYS

CLEARING OF ONE LEARNED KEY

  1. Press and hold [MUTE] and [VOL+] keys for 5 seconds until the LED will be lit.
  2. Enter the code [9] [8] [1], the LED will flash 2 times and then remain on.
  3. Press and release the desired key at the replacement remote control which you want to clear the learned command. If the LED flashes 3 times, the learned command has been cleared successfully.

CLEARING OF ALL LEARNED KEYS

  1. Press and hold [MUTE] and [VOL+] keys for 5 seconds until the LED will be lit.
  2. Enter the code [9] [8] [2], the LED will flash 2 times and then remain on.
  3. Press and release the [OK] key at the replacement remote control. If the LED flashes 3 times, all commands have been cleared successfully.

EASY Mode

This remote control is equipped with an EASY Mode. Thus you could reduce the functionality of the remote control to its basic functions. It avoids that the TV Settings are changed by mistake.

During the EASY Mode you still could use following keys:

Enter EASY Mode
  1. Press and hold [MUTE] and [VOL+] keys for 5 seconds until the LED will be lit.
  2. Enter the code [9] [7] [0], the LED will flash two times and then remain on.
  3. Press and release the [OK] key, if LED flash 3 times, you have entered the EASY Mode successfully.
Exit EASY Mode
  1. Press and hold [MUTE] and [VOL+] for 5 seconds until the LED will be lit.
  2. Enter the code [9] [7] [0], the LED will flash two times and then remain on.
  3. Press and release the [EXIT] key, if LED flash 3 times, you have exit the EASY Mode.

Note

  • While the EASY Mode is activated only the keys mentioned in chapter 7. will work. If one of these keys is pressed the LED will be lit until the key is released. If one key is pressed during the normal mode, the LED will flash.

Maintenance

  • Do not mix new and used batteries for powering the remote control, as old batteries tend to leak and may cause power drain.
  • Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleansers on your remote control.
  • Keep the remote control dust free by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth.

Troubleshooting

  • Q. My remote control does not work at all!
    A. Check your TV. If the TV main switch is turned off, your Remote cannot
    operate your TV.
    A. Check whether your batteries are inserted properly and are in the correct +/- position.
    A. If the batteries are low, replace the batteries.
  • Q. My TV responds only to some of the commands.
    A. Try other codes until most keys work properly.
  • Q. Some keys of the remote control do not work anymore?
    A. Maybe the EASY Mode had been activated. Deactivate the EASY Mode as explained in chapter 7.2.
