BEFORE USE

Before use, please read this manual carefully.

Only connect the appliance to an earthed wall socket.

This appliance is for household use only. When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to avoid fires, electric shocks, burns, or other injuries and damage. Read these operating and safety instructions carefully.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS (1

  1. Please keep the child away when this unit is working.
  2. Do not connect the power when the cover is left off so as to avoid any personal injury caused by the spilled boiling water.
  3. Do not use it in your absence.
  4. The egg boiler shall be put on a solid platform during use. Do not press too hard so as to avoid any damage of the power switch.
  5. The unit shall not be used on the surface or in the vicinity of a heat-labile object such as carpet and plastics. Do not put those which will be dampened by steam on the top of this unit.
  6. Do not add the water or pull out the plug when the water is dry- Please do not touch the heating plate so as to protect yourself from being scaled.
  7. Be cautious about the steam from the vent so as to prevent yourself from being scaled.
  8. w no liquid entry is allowed in the internal egg boiler so as to avoid any danger.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS (2/2)

  1. Any replacement shall be made by the full-time personnel from the manufacturer or a department that is similar to a maintenance and repair service center once the power cord is damaged so as to avoid any danger.
  2. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including chil­dren) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  3. Avoid injuries from the egg pin;
  4. This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
    – staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments; – farm houses;
    – by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments; – bed and breakfast type environments.
  5. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

Attention: Please do not put the bowl on the heating plate directly when boiling eggs. Do not use the bowl until it is put on the shelf.

BOILING EGGS

  1. Fill the provided measuring cup (11) with the resp. amount of cold water (see “Cooking times / Amount of water to be used”) and pour the water into the water tray.
  2. Carefully, pierce the blunt end of the eggs with the egg piercer and place them blunt size down on the egg tray. This should reduce the risk of the eggs crocking during the boiling process.remains the same, the steaming time will be increased by approx. 30%.
    Warning: Risk of injury!
    Handle the measuring cup carefully, as the integrated egg piercer is extremely sharp.
  3. Place the egg tray with the eggs properly onto the water tray and close the lid.
  4. Connect the power plug to a properly installed wall socket.
  5. Switch on the appliance by turning the on/off switch to the respective time setting. Refer to “Cooking times”.
    The integrated light lights up.

Note: We recommend using medium size eggs. Depending on the size, number and freshness of the eggs, the results may vary slightly. In addition, if the eggs are not removed immediately after the boiling process has stopped, they will continue to harden.

Note: The cooking times may vary according to size resp. weight of the egg. Only cook eggs of the same size and weight at the same time.
You may boil 8 eggs or poach 4 eggs with this egg boiler.

Note:
– The a.m. steaming time is only approximate.
– The time can vary according to size, type, quantity, freshness, and temperature (frozen) of the food placed onto the tray.
– All steaming times refer to the use of the lower steaming tray.
– If both steaming trays are used, the amount of water to be used remains the same, the steaming time will be increased by approx. 30%.

STEAMING FUNCTION

Water amount to be used
– 140 ml for steaming times up to 16 minutes.
– 200 ml for steaming times from 17 minutes upwards.
Steaming small amounts of food
– Pour the respective amount of water into the tray. – Place the steaming tray onto the water tray and distribute the food evenly onto the steaming tray to guarantee an even cooking result. Make sure that all food pieces are cut/prepared to a similar size to obtain the best cooking result.
– Close the lid and connect the power plug to a properly installed wall socket.
– Switch on the appliance by turning the on/off switch to the respective time setting. Refer to the table underneath. The integrated indicator light lights up.
– The water starts to heat up. The buzzer sounds once the set time is reached or once the water is evaporated. The indicator light starts blinking. – Switch off (Off-Position) the appliance and disconnect it from the mains.
– Carefully, lift off the appliance lid by its handle, hot steam might evaporate.

POACHING EGGS

  1. Fill the provided measuring cup with the resp. amount of cold water (see “Cooking times / Amount of water to be used”) and pour the water into the water troy (6).
  2. Crack one egg or more into the insert for poaching eggs.
  3. Place the egg tray (without eggs) onto the water tray and place the insert for poaching eggs on top or Insert the steam rock, place the second egg troy and place the insert for poaching eggs (5) on top.
  4.  Close the lid and connect the power plug to a properly installed wall socket.
  5. Switch on the appliance by turning the on/off switch to the respective time setting. Refer to “Cooking times”. The integrated indicator light lights up.
  6. The water starts to heat up. The buzzer sounds once the set time is reached or once the water is evaporated. The indicator light starts blinking.
  7. Switch off (Off-Position) the appliance and disconnect it from the mains.
  8. Carefully, lift off the appliance lid by its handle, hot steam might evaporate.
  9. Liftoff the insert for poaching eggs and serve the eggs.

Caution: Risk of burns!
During use, hot steam escapes through the steam vent on top of the lid. Do not touch or cover it when in use. The egg trays and inserts get very hot during use, therefore, only lift them off by their handles or if necessary use pot handlers.

DRY-BOIL CUT-OUT

Your egg boiler/mini steamer is equipped with a boil-dry cut-out, which will switch off the appliance automatically, should it accidentally be operated without water or by not observing the minimum water level. In the event of such a safety cut-out, switch off the appliance immediately, unplug it and let it cool down for approx. 10 minutes. Afterward, the appliance is ready for use again.

THERMAL SAFETY CUT-OUT

This egg boiler/mini steamer has a thermal safety device. In case of thermostat failure, the electrical circuit has an automatic cut-out, thus preventing overheating.

DESCALING

Descale your appliance in regular intervals (approx. every 3 – 6 months), depending on the frequency of use and the local water quality.
Never use any sharp, pointed or metal objects to remove limescale build-up in the appliance.
To remove limescale, use a common gentle descaler, which is suitable for your appliance.
Put some of the descaler liquid onto a soft moistened cloth and apply it to the water tray. Leave it on for a while and then remove it thoroughly with a wet cleaning sponge. Make sure to dry it properly afterward.

CARE AND CLEANING

  1. Please pull out the plug from the socket after use.
  2. Do not clean it until the power is turned off and the egg boiler is cooled.
  3. The shelf and cover can be cleaned with a washing detergent or Do not clean with a hard steel wire so as to avoid any surface damage.
  4. Do not put the whole unit into the water to wash. The machine surface can be wiped with a wet towel. It is not allowed to be rinsed with water so as to avoid any electric leakage and occurrence of faults.
  5. Please clean and wipe the unit and put it into its packages if you want to lay it up for a long time. Put it in a ventilated and dry place so as to avoid being dampened to cause any problems on its normal use.

TROUBLESHOOTING

  1. The indicator light of the rotary switch does not work:
  2. Power failure?
  3. Whether the power cord is plugged in the socket?
  4. Whether the socket power is on?
  5. The egg is overdone or underdone
  6. Whether the water is too much or not enough (It will appear overdone with too much water and underdone with insufficient water)? Remarks: If those faults are still unresolved with the above-mentioned analysis or any other faults exist, please contact our maintenance and repair service points or dealers. Non-authorized personnel is not allowed to disassemble this product without permission.

DISPOSAL

Do not dispose of the device in normal domestic waste.
Dispose of the device over a registered waste disposal firm or through your communal waste disposal facility.
Observe the currently valid regulations. In case of doubt, consult your waste disposal facility.
