SALTER SPLASH

This Salter scale has been designed with a comfy, removable, washable, anti-slip silicon cover. To change the cover, starting from one corner gently remove the silicon cover from the glass platform. The cover can be washed in warm soapy water and is dishwasher safe. When fully dry, replace the silicon cover. Place the silicon cover on the glass platform ensuring the display area of the silicon cover aligns with the LED display area at the top of the scale platform. Starting from one corner gently overlap the silicon cover over the edge of the glass platform. The cover can be replaced with new fashionable options to add a splash of colour to your bathroom. • Lo Replace battery.
  • Err Unstable weight. Stand still.
  • C Incorrect zero. Position scale on a firm flat surface and repeat weight reading

ADVICE FOR USE AND CARE

  • Always weigh yourself on the same scale placed on the same floor surface. Do not compare weight readings from one scale to another as some differences will exist due to manufacturing tolerances.
  • Placing your scale on a hard, even floor will ensure the greatest accuracy and repeatability.
  • Weigh yourself at the same time each day, before meals and without footwear. First thing in the morning is a good time.
  • Your scale rounds up or down to the nearest increment. If you weigh yourself twice and get two different readings, your weight lies between the two.
  • Clean your scale with a damp cloth. Do not use chemical cleaning agents.
  • Do not allow your scale to become saturated with water as this can damage the electronics. The silicon cover only can be washed in warm soapy water and is dishwasher safe up to 65 degrees celsius. Ensure the cover is fully dry before replacing.
  • Treat your scale with care – it is a precision instrument. Do not drop it or jump on it.
  • Caution: the platform may become slippery when wet.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

If you experience any difficulty in the use of your scale:

  • Check the battery is correctly fitted.
  • Check that you have selected your preference of stones/pounds, kilograms or pounds.
  • Check that the scale is on a flat, level floor and not touching against a wall.
  • Repeat the ‘Initialization’ procedure every time the scale is moved.
  • If when you use the scale there is no display at all or if ‘Lo’ is displayed – try a new battery.
  • If ‘O-Ld’ is displayed the scale has been overloaded.

FAQ’S

I have placed my scale on a carpet but it displays 0.00. What do I do?

The scale will only work on a hard, flat, smooth surface. If your floor is carpeted you need to place the scale on a hard, flat and smooth surface (for example a kitchen worktop or bathroom tiles).

My scale keeps changing between kg and st mode even though I have selected one mode only. What do I do?

This is normal as the scales are designed to switch between weight modes automatically if they detect that there is an imbalance in weight distribution between people standing on them (for example if one person is heavier than another). This feature ensures that both users get an accurate reading every time they step onto the platform.

My scale switches between kg and st mode when I stand on it but then displays 0.00 when my partner steps onto it. why does this happen?

This is normal as the scales are designed to switch between weight modes automatically if they detect that there is an imbalance in weight distribution between people standing on them (for example if one person is heavier than another). This feature ensures that both users get an accurate reading every time they step onto the platform.

Are Salter scales accurate?

The scales seem to be very accurate. I have checked my weight several times on the hard floors in the kitchen and bathroom and it has been exactly the same every time, and the same as my old scales. I wanted scales which measure in 1/4lbs and these do. The display is very black and easy to read.

How do I reset my Salter scale?

To make measurements excluding the weight of a bowl or cup, press the “on-zero-off“ button to the left of the display with only the container sitting on the scale. Press the button again when the scale is clear to reset the zero point.

Why are my Salter scales not working?

Check the battery is correctly fitted. Check that you have selected your preference of stones/pounds, kilograms or pounds. Check that the scale is on a flat, level floor and not touching against a wall. Repeat the ‘Initialization’ procedure every time the scale is moved.

Can low battery affect scales?

Low batteries and poor battery connections are the leading cause of scale malfunction and inaccurate readings when recording measurements on digital scales. For accurate measurements, it is essential that the scale’s components receive the required amount of power.

What do I do if my scale won’t turn on?

Remove the new batteries and inspect the terminals for any corrosion left by the previous batteries. Take a small piece of sandpaper and lightly sand the contacts in the battery compartment, reinstall the new batteries and try powering the scale on again.

What kind of battery does my scale take?

The most common bathroom scale battery size is the AAA. They are also cheaper and easier to find as they power everything from the remote control to cameras, clocks, flashlights, and more. In this case, if you need a digital scale battery fast, you can easily take one from another device in your home.

How do I know my real weight?

Weigh yourself at the same time every day (morning is best, after using the restroom).
Use a quality weighing device that’s set up properly.
Only use one scale.
Weigh yourself naked or wear the same thing for every weight measurement.

What does C mean on my scale?

“C” will appear during the first weighing, this is a self-calibrating feature on some scales. It means the scale is re-calibrating to zero. Please re-weigh for accurate reading.

What does D mean on a scale?

The “d” value, according to the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Handbook 44, is a scale’s smallest standard displayed division. That value is equivalent to a non-approved scale’s readability.
