What’s in the package?

I received mine yesterday, the package has the camera, power adapter, and cord.

Can I access the feed from the camera from any web browser (not a mobile-only app)? Is there a cost?

You can download the free LD Player software for your computer. It runs any android app like the Wyze app on your pc. I use it for my Wyze Cam3. After installing then use the LD Player to go to the Google Playstore to get the Wyze app for the camera and view the video on the bigger screen.

Is the camera completely wireless or does it have to be plugged in to work?

The camera has to be plugged into an electricity source.

Is the camera always live or can you turn it off and on when you leave the house from the app?

Yes, you can turn it off and on through the Wyze app. You can also set a schedule when the camera will turn off.

Will the mount on the wyze website work for this version or just the first version?

Yes, you can still use the same mount from the website. Wyze Cam Pan v2 includes all the features you love from the previous version, with the addition of Color Night Vision, an upgraded CPU with more processing power, and improved motion tracking. But the dimension and shape are still the same.

Will audio and video recording loop to the SD card and continue looping or will it fill up and you have to erase?

Once the card gets full, it will overwrite the recordings.

Does it work on batteries or it has to be wired? If wired, how long is the wire?

It’s indoor rated with no battery option unless you custom rig a backup battery. Only the outdoor non-panning model uses batteries by design. The non-panning V3 models are also outdoor rated but maybe not as robust.

What is this product used for?

We use it to remotely monitor our home while we are away. The “pan” feature works well so you can see almost a whole room if you position your camera in a good location. I am not really sure it is a “security device” per se, but it does give you a good feeling knowing you can look in on your property no matter where in the world you might be.

Can you fast forward through video on the cloud?

At this time, the fast forward option is available when you have a Cam Plus subscription.

Will this camera connect to an iPhone hotspot?

Yes, it will but it may experience connectivity issues in the long run since it needs a stable connection.

With the purpose of using as this a baby monitor, can you set sound detect and alert specifically or does it require motion to activate?

Yes. You can set a noise detection and also set the sensitivity level. You can also set an alert for movements for specific zones.

I want to use this to monitor my snake room. How reliable is the connection?

That depends mostly on your internet connection and distance from the router to the camera but as far as the camera goes it works quite well. At least for me personally.

Do you need a subscription to have the motion notifications?

There is lite version of the subscription. You pay what you want or nothing at all. However, it limits the product to 12 second motion only video.
